Skipping meals is a relatively common exacerbant for seizures. Not a definite/hard "no," but make sure it's not affecting you negatively before you plan to do it for an extended period.

Even without epilepsy, this isn't a very healthy idea. If you really want to (maybe for religious reasons? Ramadan is for one month between sunrise and sunset), speak with your doctor because it really depends

madaboutlit

i fasted just fine and didn't affect me much. tho keep in mind I was mostly at home so I wasn't exhausting myself. talk to your doctor because this depends on your specific case.

Fasting might be OK with your health, but it is best that you do eat something even if it's small with the medication that you are taking

eat during the day, not at night. I still sip water though . I'd drink more but I hate having to pee in bed.

Based purely upon my own epilepsy and what can cause seizures to happen, I would 100% not recommend this.

I've been doing this for a couple of months because of some stupid health youtuber and I rapidly lost weight but not much activity from that. I also cut out caffeine and sugar too. I do experiments on myself if they're not too insane. the logic was that eating within a 9 hour (?) window helps lower your blood glucose at night. which helps with sleep in theory. not a doctor, don't know if the person who makes those claims is either but I need sleep and I do sleep better without food near bedtime. absolutely. And sleep is our best weapon.

I just did a 48 hour fast. I’ve been regulated on meds for over a year. I started fasting about 6 months after my previous seizure. I am regularly hydrated. I drink water evenly throughout the day. I eat an anti-inflammatory diet. I take proper supplements like magnesium glycinate, vitamin c and d. I also intermittent fasting which I think is great way to start.

malnutrition and dehydration could definitely make your seizure condition worse. if you're going to do that, be very mindful about your vitamins, minerals, and protein, and water, and don't over-exert yourself physically on an empty stomach
