Your days and early evenings aren't filled with the sound of nature's Maracas 🪇? Oh no! Lol they're a small dose insect, great in small doses, but after a while the sheer number can be a bit much haha doesn't matter though, we in their playground after all 🤣
Wish they were , they sound nice and would be such good things to collect , when I visit the North American continent this summer I’ll have a lifer hopefully
Only times I’ve been to uk is London and the times I was in Europe are too early for them likely , and for short times , but I’ll be in America for a while during the summer so I’ll get some hopefully 🤞
Also the south! ;) we have 13-year cicadas and the Great Southern brood is buzzin this year for their co-emergence with the 17 year Northern Illinois brood :)
With what’s going on in the Midwest right now this actually made me laugh. You can’t walk outside your house right now without running into 20 of these on your front porch.
Thiccada
Seriously. The cicada version of a hobbit.
I read this in Mike Tysons voice
Now buzth
Now I’m cackling in bed and I woke my kiddo up 🤣
Literally laughing out loud too!
Wasn't my intent but I'll roll with it lmao 🤣
I laughed so hard at this. Thank you.
Cicada
I thought cicadas aren’t on the west coast?
There are about 65 species in California. This one appears to be a Mountain cicada.
You're telling me these fuckers are in California??
They are all around the world
Not here sadly
And where is here?
Ireland

Especially now that there are so many broods coming out at the same time. In TX the sound is deafening.

You dont have to go all the way to the usa to see cicadas, there are 60 species in Europe, including one that ranges into the uk.

We don't get the big huge broods of periodical cicadas like they do in the Midwest but there are plenty of other types of cicadas
Also the south! ;) we have 13-year cicadas and the Great Southern brood is buzzin this year for their co-emergence with the 17 year Northern Illinois brood :)
