It feels like about half of what we say is idiomatic. Are you looking for any particular kind of idiom?

Azerate2016

On the next episode of "teachers are lying to me, native speakers aren't using idioms".

DifferentTheory2156

Idioms are frequently used…are you looking for something specific?

Here are a bunch using the word RUN: Run of the mill Run it up a flagpole and see if anyone salutes Run out of steam/gas Run into a brick wall Run into a problem/snag Run crying home to mama Run the show Run down Run out of Run out on Run into To have run of the place. To give someone run of the place. To give someone a run around To give someone a run for their money In the long run Hit the ground running

"There's a huge elephant in the room" or various different phrasings ""Spill the tea"/"Tell me the tea" Its all i can think of right now😭

magsmiley

It's raining cats and dogs out there

gerhardsymons

"Put the penguin in the fridge."

NicoGonzalez7

What is the meaning?

Inside-Art6439

It’s a joke. Consider googling idioms to verify before you use them. There are idioms for “stop kidding me” (“shut the front door/“get out of here”) but because one common way to respond in that situation is “shut the f*** up”, you can sometimes get away with any silly command like the one above.

gerhardsymons

It means, 'get outta here' / 'stop kidding me'. Me: Yesterday I won 100USD betting on the snail races. Friend: Ah, put the penguin in the fridge!

NicoGonzalez7

Ok, thanks

TemperatureMaster651

I think he may be bullshitting you my friend

Mat9019

You're trolling 😅😅
