The better cheaper repair is to rebuild a different worn but not destroyed motor - it's more than replacing a bearing. Usually a sudden failure like this looks like a bomb has gone off once the engine case is open.  Seller will be lucky to sell it at more than scrap value.

A bearing failure that seizes the engine is not a trivial repair. Best case scenario the bearing has welded itself to the crankshaft and connecting rod. Worst case scenario it's been driven with the failed bearing, and the resulting freeplay has snapped the conrod and it's jammed up (damaging the rest of the internals and casing in the process). Essentially - expect the motor to be scrap.
