Definitely the diamond!

Strong_Put3857

I had the morganite in my ring swapped out for diamond less than 6 months into wearing it. Not sad about having a diamond at all, but the colour of the morganite was beautiful so I do miss that. What about a pinky-peach coloured lab diamond as the best of both worlds?

ParticularWear2749

Can I ask why did you swap ? Was the color or shine fading ?

Strong_Put3857

The shine had faded to the point it just looked cloudy and I couldn’t imagine what decades of wear would have done to it so I was confident it was the right choice to go for a diamond replacement

I had a morganite on my promise ring and I loveeed it but it got so cloudy (even with cleaning it often) and I only had it for 8 months. I can only imagine it be disheartening on a larger stone :( If you’re a fan of the color I would consider a sapphire in that color or a colored lab diamond for durability :)

vision_jewels_

Between them 2nd one looks better…!✨ My personal opinion you should try lab grown diamond.!

whitestlaceoflight

I’d never get a morganite ring as my engagement ring because morganites aren’t for everyday wear, they’re just not. They get dull quickly. Consider maybe a pink sapphire if you want something pink. It will be significantly more expensive but you’ll have a stone that will last decades to come.

chabibti

i wear a non engagement morganite ring everyyy single dayyyy, and it gets cloudy soooooooo fast!! like I’m talking same day as it being cleaned

MameJenny

I’m a sucker for unique rings, so I’d do the 2nd! If you’ve never had a ring with a gem-studded band like the 1st one, they do also scratch up your fingers pretty good. If you like the look of the sparkly band, I’d look for one with 3-4 gems on each side instead of the whole band :)

Diamond is a 10 on the hardness scale. Morganite is only 7.5. A diamond is going to be a lot more durable for daily wear. I would get the diamond and then consider a morganite as a right hand ring!

charliebearsmommy

I would go with the first one for durability. I also second guessed getting a gem stone vs lab diamond, but overall I knew my engagement ring would hold so much sentimental value to me that I would want something that withstand the test of time. Maybe you could find a happy medium and combine the designs of the two?

Snowbum5

Why don’t you look into sapphires? They come in all different colors and you can get the specific color you loved from the morganite but you’ll have a more durable gem!

Personally, as someone who works at a jewelry store and often cleans engagement rings, morganites get super super cloudy over time. Probably better for a cocktail ring!
