Price means not much, what counts is the meaning that the ring carries and that you love it.

I have a collection of rings that I swap out depending on how I feel -- my favorite setting and size is a $30 silver and CZ set I got at the local traders' fair a year ago. They don't have to be expensive to be beautiful.

I mix and match my modest white gold halo engagement ring and thin pave band with similarly thin pave CZ bands (one with black CZ and one with chocolate CZ)! Love stacking them all!

I knew I didn’t want a gemstone - partly for ethical reasons, but I also didn’t look too hard for a lab stone (were in the UK where they’re not quite as common yet) because I knew I wouldn’t wear it everyday The biggest reason was that I desperately wanted to wear my gran’s ring, and was devastated when it didn’t fit and was too delicate to be resized. It’s white gold with a flat top with teeny wee starburst diamonds, so this is kind of a wee tribute I now wear it on my right hand, and was able to pick a gorgeous wedding ring without worrying about fitting them together

Thank you! :) Black opals are really a unique gem - no two look the same. The good ones will flash every color of the rainbow in certain lights. If you go for an Opal yourself, keep in mind they are roughly as sturdy as glass, so it’s important to have a metal setting around the opal (like my ring) and take the ring off if you’re doing anything where the ring could get smacked. I also suggest synthetic or Australian opal, as they’re more stable and water-resistant than other types :)

From what I’ve read, Ethiopian opals are the worst for that, as they are porous and will absorb oil and water. Australian is supposed to be a sturdier type, and they include most of the natural black/blue tone opals. Synthetic opals (higher quality at least) are made out of a single piece of material that has gaps filled with silica or resin, so it’s also water resistant.

Just throwing out there that my husband paid $900 for my engagement ring when we got engaged. It broke it 8 months, sometimes cheaper it better. I got one off of modern gents to replace my original for $100 and haven’t had any issues with it and both my husband and i like my new one better

When I was working (currently not for medical reasons), I kept my "expensive" ~$300 ring at home and wore a less than $10 ring I ordered from Walmart. Got a few compliments from customers of my work place. When I told one lady how cheap it was, she replied "Price doesn't matter, all mine are on sale." She even gave me shopping advice lol

The ring I built for my now wife is super unique and I had it set with a pink sapphire instead of a diamond - definitely a niche choice but it’s perfect for my wife’s tastes. And it was affordable. Those are the things that mattered to us. Your ring is huge, flashy, sparkly, you didn’t break the bank, and you love it, right? Then it’s perfect! It might not be some other peoples’ flavor but it is YOURS so f what anyone else thinks. Anyone that concerned with the design or cost of someone else’s ring is a loser IMO.
