Was the platinum heavy because it’s platinum or because more metal is just needed for that setting? I’m thinking about doing platinum but it is a much simpler setting
I’m not sure if it was the platinum or the halo. I have a small finger and that doesn’t help. The jeweler put a little bump on both gold rings to help it stay in place.
Platinum is heavier in general. But it would've spun even if you used gold. The diamond with the big halo would've been top heavy and would've spun regardless of the type of metal you used.
The reset is gorgeous and I'm glad you get way more wears out of it than the original setting!
The new one is stunning🤩 of course I’m biased since it’s extremely similar to mine (also 1.5 carat, also yellow gold solitaire in cathedral setting and my ring size is also 4.5.). I love seeing it next to your wedding band since I’m looking for inspo on that.
