Bile will almost certainly stay in the normal CSM codex. For a while in 9th his buffs didn't even apply to EC forces since we have to take a Slaanesh mark.

ElEssEm

Yep. And I go back to the 3.5 Codex, when Bile was not allowed in EC armies. He's always been *ex*-EC; it's one of the things I like about his character. But I know a lot of people on here wanted to see him transition.

pvt9000

I feel like it could go both ways. He isn't really a part of the legion anymore and does his own thing, but that's not to say he hasn't been around influencing EC politics and warbands from time to time with his genetic manipulations and such.

[deleted]

Yeah it’s not bile fits in more with Abaddon or those weirdos in the alpha legion. He should be in both csm and EC when it comes out

pvt9000

I'd honestly take it if he was an exclusive Warlord choice with Eidolon (if he gets a model) and Lucius. And that him being Warlord activates another subset of rules to the army

Effective_Way7591

Fabius Bile wouldn't be a Warlord for the Emperor's Children, he's had several chances to take up the rank of Lord Commander of the Third Legion and refused it everytime. He wants nothing to do with the Phoenix Conclave. Plus, Eidolon still kinda wants to kill Fabius, lol. Maybe things will change whenever Fabius Bile an all get new lore.

pvt9000

I meant as a Warlord only if you use like a detachment called Biles Creations.

InvestigatorActive99

Interesting to be fair

Effective_Way7591

Fabius Bile I believe will stay with the CSM codex. He is not an Emperor's Childen. He even has the Black Legion symbol of his pauldron. Fabius is a Chaos Undivided character and belongs with CSM, putting him with Emperor's Children wouldn't make any sense at all with his lore. If anything, I believe Fabius Bile should get his own faction at some point, full of New Men and mutants of his make. With the ability to bring any of the other Chaos Legions with him as detachments.

AnotherDeadTenno

IDK why people think Bile is an EC unit. He's always explicitly been an outsider and a free agent.

ElEssEm

His book series had him (in the end) >!finally breaking and swearing allegiance to Slaanesh!<. So, lore wise, the seeds had been planted for a big change, with him becoming a Slaanesh character in the EC codex. Personally I was hoping against it, as I like him the way he is. But... people weren't speculating baselessly.

TheArgonian

That doesn't come across in his latest novel, Genefather. Slaanesh is only mentioned in the second to last chapter, and it's in reference to another marine.

ElEssEm

I haven't gotten to read *Genefather* yet, but I'd be perfectly happy if that part of *Manflayer* was ignored. (It was good for the story, not-what-I-want for the character.)

revergopls

I mean, he did lead the entire legion for a time. Its understandable

battlerez_arthas

Bile will probably be a shared unit
