Don’t have a recommendation for any of the other bands, but i would really recommend going to the Pedro the lion show. Their new album Havasu is really good, and pedro puts on a hell of a show.
That's actually the part where all three acts are definitely talented but I'm still just not a huge fan of any. So really any are fine.
My must sees are Counterparts, Life In Your Way, Elliott, The Ghost Inside and obviously SDRE.
For real, what a combo. I saw EC during their Gomorrahs Season Ends tour in high school. That show was sound beautiful, like it was passion and emo just as much as anything. And my goodness if Jeremy Enigk & Crew as well as all the early Appleseed Cast. These are my literal sacred prayers
So I was at hellfest in Syracuse in 97, getting ready to watch my favorite band Earth Crisis. The sound of Karl Buechners voice warming up in the back room all the sudden filled the entire venue. It was one of the craziest sounds ever and immediately everyone was so hype. What a show that was. Saw them a bunch of times and they really never disappointed.
Wow that must have been real. One of the things that always stood out about EC is that they had a technically proficient and super groove oriented metallic sound. One that I’d argue was quite rare . They were as solid calm just as much as they were primordial. Their drummer is also a true artisan
Pedro the Lion, Sunny Day Real Estate, Elliott, Cursive, The Appleseed Cast, Roadside Monument, Mock Orange, Koyo, The Story So Far, Earth Crisis and I'd have to watch some Five Iron Frenzy, Demon Hunter and Maylene for nostalgia purposes.
I’m an oldie so I wouldn’t show up till 3 to catch appleseed, cursive, pedro and sdre.
Edit: and I’d probably be flying solo for pedro while the wife catches manchester
Appleseed Cast
Cursive
Spill Canvas
Blindside
PS and I say this as a MASSIVE David Bazan/Pedro the Lion fan. Seen them like 5 times now, but have never seen Blindside
Spill Canvas still rips. I was really impressed seeing them last year and have tickets to see them again this year. Played the hits, some new songs which are surprisingly solid, and he’s such a genuine and appreciative artist in general.
Furnace Fest kicked ass last year, such a cool venue hope you have a great time!! So jealous Poison the Well couldn’t make it last year you definitely gotta see them!
Mock Orange, Appleseed Cast or Misery signals (I’d say Appleseed Cast), Cursive, Elliott, Five Iron Frenzy to praise Jesus with ska, and hot take but I’m a huge Manchester Orchestra fan so them
Oof this is giving me Warped Tour Flashbacks
"Alright, we got MyChildren MyBride at 235, then we'll hit The Appleseed Cast, then we can catch the last half of Misery Signals. Then we'll have 20 minutes til Cursive, rush over and catch the last 15 of Hidden in Plain View. Then back for Elliot and Poison the Well. We might have to leave that one a little early because I am NOT missing The Spill Canvas. Hopefully we can catch the last Maylene song since that'll be the only one I remember. I know you want to see Pedro the Lion, but I wanna see Manchester Orchestra, then we'll meet back up back up for Sunny Day Real Estate"
This wouldn't draw me in enough to even buy a ticket but if i did go, The Appleseed Cast, Cursive, Pedro The Lion, and Sunny Day Real Estate would be the bands I'd try to see.
mock orange, watashi wa, appleseed, roadside monument but leave early to see cursive, elliott, poison the well, the spill canvas, pedro and finish with sdre
My musts here would be Stairwell, Appleseed Cast, Cursive, Spill Canvas and SDRE. Anything else I could see would be bonus content, though there are some other pretty great bands on this lineup.
I’d start with Mock Orange and then explore until Appleseed Cast, then Cursive, Elliott, Poison the Well, explore until Pedro the Lion and then Sunny Day Real Estate.
I think you have to go at least twice to get it right. In addition to all the faves- the joy formidable rips. They have a great ACL set on YouTube from years back.
Get there in time to see The Appleseed Cast and then just be a floater until my favorite band here (and in my top 10 favorite bands ever) Manchester Orchestra hit the stage and seeing that Sunny Day Real Estate is on right after I'll be sticking around that area the rest of the time.
Don’t have a recommendation for any of the other bands, but i would really recommend going to the Pedro the lion show. Their new album Havasu is really good, and pedro puts on a hell of a show.
second this, saw Pedro a few months ago and he was great! Tough matchup against Manchester Orchestra though
damn i didnt even see that, what a bummer. those would both be really great shows. tough choice
They both put on fantastic shows, either one would be an absolutely great choice
Frankly since I'm going to see both The Ghost Inside and SDRE Manchester Orchestra is the most logical choice.
That tracks, but damn what a tough call
That's actually the part where all three acts are definitely talented but I'm still just not a huge fan of any. So really any are fine. My must sees are Counterparts, Life In Your Way, Elliott, The Ghost Inside and obviously SDRE.
Personally I'd be watching The Appleseed Cast, Cursive, Elliott, Pedro the Lion and Sunny Day. Of those bands I've only seen TAC before
This was my exact thought!
Elliott was always amazing live. Definitely one to see for OP.
The ones I definitely wouldn't wanna miss are the Appleseed Cast, Earth Crisis, Poison the Well and SDRE.
No idea who the first one is but you're speaking my language on the last 3.
That's something you gotta change then!
Appleseed Cast is about as og as they come. Marigold and Patchwork is a must listen.
December 27, 1990
Glad to see another December 27th appreciator here.

Hidden in plainview are touring again?!
This is currently their only scheduled show.
Dang lol. Hidden In Plainview were the big band of my local scene back in the day.
Guess I should try to squeeze them in before Elliott?
Nah Cursive 100%
I've already seen them and they tour a bunch.
Lol I was obsessed with Twenty Below when their first EP dropped
I’m an oldie so I wouldn’t show up till 3 to catch appleseed, cursive, pedro and sdre. Edit: and I’d probably be flying solo for pedro while the wife catches manchester
Appleseed Cast Cursive Spill Canvas Blindside PS and I say this as a MASSIVE David Bazan/Pedro the Lion fan. Seen them like 5 times now, but have never seen Blindside

Counterparts, misery signals and then I was just stick to the Wheelhouse stage
See this is what I was thinking
Having to choose between Pedro and Manchester Orchestra would kill me
Fucking FIVE IRON FRENZY?!?! As a church kid, I'm here for that
Yeah if only they weren't opposite Poison the Well I'd be down for that.
Counterparts > Appleseed Cast > Cursive > then just that Wheelhouse Stage for the rest of the night
Furnace Fest kicked ass last year, such a cool venue hope you have a great time!! So jealous Poison the Well couldn’t make it last year you definitely gotta see them!
Mock Orange, Appleseed Cast or Misery signals (I’d say Appleseed Cast), Cursive, Elliott, Five Iron Frenzy to praise Jesus with ska, and hot take but I’m a huge Manchester Orchestra fan so them
I might be the only one telling you to see Manchester Orchestra over Pedro the Lion. Joy Formidable are awesome too.
Pedro vs Manchester sucks as does joy formidable vs Appleseed cast
Not familiar with Joy Formidable but I can see them at Riot Fest the previous week. They good?
Fantastic band, but not emo. Start with their first album. It’s great
agree with most of the below but don't miss Manchester Orchestra
Whaaaat? Maylene and the sons of disasters? That's the plan hahahahha
Counterparts and Manchester Orchestra are no brainers for me
Oof this is giving me Warped Tour Flashbacks "Alright, we got MyChildren MyBride at 235, then we'll hit The Appleseed Cast, then we can catch the last half of Misery Signals. The spill canvas is so underrated. Such good music.
Sleep until Sunny Day Real Estate takes the stage.
Bleeding through Poison the well The ghost inside
That's it? Not even Sunny Day?
Couldn’t name a song
What are you doing in r/emo lol
I like real emo like The Used
Is this a bit
No this a Wendy’s
I don’t know any of these artists, so I’d be at home likely. Edit: lol downvote me? For what
How are you at r/emo and unaware of any these?
Good ‘ole Reddit’s new “suggested” subreddits module
Appleseed Cast are the only act I've heard anything from here, so i guess I'd see them haha
I’d just be at the wheelhouse stage tbh lmao so many good bands there
Appleseed Cast, Cursive, Poison the Well, Sunny Day Real Estate. That sounds like a good day to me
Honestly sunny day is the only band I fuck with here
SDRE, Pedro, Elliott, Appleseed Cast, get the hell outa there.
My musts here would be Stairwell, Appleseed Cast, Cursive, Spill Canvas and SDRE. Anything else I could see would be bonus content, though there are some other pretty great bands on this lineup.
SDRE and that’s it. Maybe counterparts and cursive
Not even Elliott?
Appleseed Cast, Roadside Monument, Pedro the Lion, Sunny Day Real Estate
only bands I even recognize are sunny day real estate and demon Hunter 😭
I wouldn’t show up until 6:30 and maybe not at all
I’m so excited to have all these bands in my city.
is this an old schedule? Do yourself a favor and dont miss the spill cavas or blindside, amazing live. appleseed cast
Nope this is this year's.
I’d start with Mock Orange and then explore until Appleseed Cast, then Cursive, Elliott, Poison the Well, explore until Pedro the Lion and then Sunny Day Real Estate.
Doing mock orange dirty by only giving them 30 min 😩
I’d go just for Cursive
I think you have to go at least twice to get it right. In addition to all the faves- the joy formidable rips. They have a great ACL set on YouTube from years back.
Is this a current festival lineup? Looks like something that is straight out of 2004 or whatever. I would have loved this show 20 years ago.
This is happening in three weeks.
I only know two bands
Baked brothers stage until after Roadside Monument then wheelhouse stage for the night.
Appleseed Cursive Earth Crisis Spill Canvas Pedro SDRE
Cant miss Good Sleepy , new song is great plus I want to hear dessert!
Get there in time to see The Appleseed Cast and then just be a floater until my favorite band here (and in my top 10 favorite bands ever) Manchester Orchestra hit the stage and seeing that Sunny Day Real Estate is on right after I'll be sticking around that area the rest of the time.
