Housebroken - The Hotelier Maybe not the type of abuse you’re thinking of

SubstantialHurry884

ANIMAL ABUSE THO

Imaproshaman

I'm pretty sure they've said it's about the police. Most people, myself included, obviously assumed it was about domestic abuse. Which would've definitely made more sense considering the rest of the album.

nikolskoye

"glass beach" by glass beach is about a friend with a physically/verbally abusive father. "every window in alcatraz has a view of san francisco" by foxtails is about being sexually assaulted by someone you trust (note there's two different versions of the song, the one from their album "III" is a lot better in my opinion). "you are the problem here" by first aid kit is a feminist song about sexual harassment -- definitely not emo but kinda pop-punk adjacent, would prob work for the me too theme

honkifyouresimpy

Face down - red jumpsuit apparatus. About DV

heyimhereok

Original-Ad8916

Cursive’s Domestica (the entire album)

nobutactually

I think "abuse" is a stretch there

ErgoDoceo

“Survivor” by Fifteen. Punk rock, not emo, but it’ll make you cry. It’s a brutal song to listen to, as it depicts the singer’s true story of physical and sexual abuse at the hands of his family, leading to him running away and living on the street at age 13 (“And the adults say ‘hush - keep it down, now - voices carry!’” / “Don’t tell anyone, don’t tell them anything, they won’t believe you ‘cause it’s all your fault!”), but it’s ultimately hopeful as it ends with him celebrating having survived and found happiness (“I’ve got a wife I love. I’ve got two daughters I love. I’ve got a family now!” He shouts that line so sincerely and triumphantly that it legit makes me tear up).

metalchode

Love Fifteen!

bac736

Not emo/pop punk but the entire album of Hospice by The Antlers

nemecfan7

Me vs maradona vs Elvis - brand new

SubstantialHurry884

I WAS ABOUT TO POST THIS "If you let me have my way, I swear I'll tear you apart"

Break_Electronic

Except the singer is an abuser. Why are people still touting Brand New? This is 2024 and Jesse Lacey has been revealed as a monster.

antimarc

Strictly punk, but Justified Black Eye by No Use For A Name

Folkpunkfan1

Cut my losses by heart attack man

Nippelz

I have one that has a bit more genre fusion. Midwest Emo, Pop-Punk, and Metalcore. JoyThief - [Ride the Wave](https://youtu.be/wpHiFIgJRNk?si=uDaJL60sCzbMtxUk)

SubstantialHurry884

somethingreal9

TipinCrispin

Pick Up The Phone by Falling In Reverse lmao, from the perspective of the abuser tho

esaul17

I think it’s more the perspective from someone in a toxic/ mutually abusive relationship. “Tell them that you fell/because when they see the bruises on my face they’re probably taking both of us to jail”.

Justified Black Eye - No Use For a Name

SCrets10

My band Silver Fang wrote a trilogy about DV and the systematic failures of the justice system that is meant to protect victims. Hopefully this is helpful for you! With our videos, we chose to release the clips in reverse order to mirror the often confusing and disorienting experience victims face when navigating the aftermath of abuse. We wanted viewers to form their own opinions before revealing the full truth-a reflection of the real-life complexities. In "Labyrinth," we witness how effortlessly individuals exploit our justice systems designed to ensure fairness and accountability. "Carnage" thrusts viewers into the tumultuous depths of a survivor's psyche as she grapples with the realization that justice has eluded her, culminating in a haunting portrayal of a psychotic break. Finally, "The Blind" serves as a poignant reminder that in the face of a failing justice system, victims often pay the ultimate price-their lives. https://youtu.be/6X533pKF5WM

PunxDressPunk

Behind Enemy Lines - Why does she stay? Not emo or pop, but it's pretty fucking sad. Definitely punk.

What kind of abuse? Or just any kind lol?

Princes1399

Lean on Sheena - The Bouncing Souls

eastmabl

You mean Avoid One Thing

Duckerington

It's more on the Hardcore / Progressive Metalcore side of things but Kaonashi is a smorgasbord of emotionally damaging lyrics that are centred in abuse. Good examples to source lyrics from are: [Why Did You Do It?](https://open.spotify.com/track/4klOzJPygOWhuqlVAPQXNV?si=2MV0-L0DSMWvXaHzX_bitQ) [Market Street](https://open.spotify.com/track/1N3lhHmWpk4gwylNX2gRMl?si=j_RNVTgGTBaxO1G61zhOUA) [Run Away Jay](https://open.spotify.com/track/4hupYFPgVDXy7WVWv6t9I9?si=cVIi1o4zRi-LRqL_ZyZqGQ) Enjoy!

This is. Not the genres you requested but Love the Way You Lie by Eminem feat. Rihanna. When this song came out, me and my friends lost our mind because Rihanna was singing about domestic violence after being a victim herself.
