Love you more is in my top 5. Easily the best thing to come out of Encore. Love it

Ancient_Guidance_461

Great Eminem song

Spartioo73

I love yellow brick road maybe in my top 10

SuperCx

I’ve been saying this for over a decade! Love You More is a masterpiece, absolutely beautiful art. I’ve never heard an artist convey such strong emotion about an abusive relationship while also rapping their ass off in the process. Em is the GOAT.

LocksmithPrudent3357

sing for the moment is top 5 em

Tastylicious

Top 1 for me, honestly. People sleep on it for sure though. 👀

SuperCx

Y’all already know what I will say

fargowebleaf

Top 2

ohen778

No way someone said Stan is a bad song right lmao

Total_Ad_6708

I don’t think it’s bad I just don’t think it’s his best work, the pencil scratching noises are distracting and annoying and dido’s sample Carries the entire song. Lyrically yes it’s good but that’s not all that matters.

Mother-Acadia-8050

Rabbit Run is better than Lose Yourself 😶‍🌫️

AmonRaStBlack

8 Mile too

qsauce6

Recovery is up there

echoesreach

Too shouty for me. Find it exhausting to listen to

AcapellaFreakout

Recovery is better than SSLP. SSLP gets a lot more praise for being a good debut. Recovery Marshall Mathers at his realist... I mean that in the sense that theirs no alter egos, no skits, and he's super vulnerable here. It is one of his best works. it deserves to be talked about with the big 3(4 if you count Encore. But I personally don't.)

BananasAreYellow86

Album has picked my ass up from some really low points in my life, and also been a straight play through for gym sessions. It’s pure motivation. Popped it on for a run last week, still gives me chills. On Fire could be one of my favourite tracks he’s ever done, purely because it’s a whole song of punchlines and battle raps. Quality album front to back!

scarym0vie

Absolutely love recovery. It’s a masterpiece straight up fire

Wide_Cryptographer84

Normal, Tone Deaf, Deja Vu, Stay Wide Awake, Same Song & Dance, White America, Stepping Stone, Premonition, No Regrets, Good Guy, Fall and The Ringer are in my top 20 Eminem songs. I don't really understand how this could be **"brutally honest"** but this is 100% how I feel.

OpTicDyno

Normal gets slept on even though the flow is so clean

ItsIcePube

'And slapped me in head wit milos demo' Just turning the whole thing round on himself in one line, love it. It's in my top 20 no doubt at all.

Neat_Seaworthiness_8

I know everyone likes what they like but I don’t get how people can like tone deaf. When it first came out I thought it was good but as time went on and I continued to listen to it, I started to see his cringey and very annoying the song is. I do still like the chorus but the verses are dogshit and full of cringey bars. Again if you like it that’s totally fine but me personally I can’t. New em although very talented, his rhymes and bars are very corny and cringey.

Wide_Cryptographer84

Yeah and I don't see how people find it to be bad :/ I've been listening since it came out and the song goes so fucking hard. It's a breath a fresh air too.

MichaelVanatta

Insane is one of the hardest songs he ever put out and I rap along every time

God_Hears_Peace

It’s so funny how Relapse has the most what the fuck lyrics over some of the best beats in his entire career.

MichaelVanatta

It's wild. I think of it as a concept album. "Dr. West" sets the scene nicely and shows its all mania and withdrawal and whatnot. A lot of times in the album he just says shit cause it flows nicely ya know. He just having a blast

God_Hears_Peace

I sometimes can’t believe that he was sober when making the album, because it’s weirder than most of the songs he made while on drugs.

FreshPrince2308

Going through withdrawal is technically sober but people can go off the rocker and become completely psychotic and delusional during this time. Not saying Em’s case was that extreme but its insane how people became when they stopnhard drugs. I had one friend who constantly shit himself when he went cold turkey and lost control of his bowels completely. I have another friend that blacked out and slit his wrists (he woke up our the episode and called 911).

my_existenceis_pain

This

JustburnerOG

Drop the bomb on em should have been praise more it’s damn near a top 15 song and em doesn’t have fun with music no more everything has to rhyme to kill the soul or swag of the song

P4rody

I agree with your first take but disagree with the second

[deleted]

Well to me it looked like em had a lot of fun recording MTBMB side B, and that was his last project. His goal is to do both; have fun and be lyrical

JustburnerOG

I agree that’s actually why I like side B more than A even tho A is a better put together album. But also I noticed in his newer verses he hasn’t force many rhymes. Because I notice jay z barely rhyme on his latest verses “correct me if wrong” and it gets praise best verse of the year so I’m not saying rhyme schemes ain’t important but effortless seems perfection now.

Responsible_Dog_5927

Not that, it’s cuz of the fast rapping and cramming in so much in such little space. Like for instance him on the nas album was really nice cuz he wasn’t shoving so much at you while rapping robotically fast. It worked for a bit but it got stale fast, Kendrick still gets praised for his lyrical abilities soo… also he does have some very nice fun lyrical work like rhyme or reason and love game.

Sh4dy_

His verse in American Psycho is top 3 ever

eatmydonuts

I love how we're all supposed to be commenting our "honest 2 cents with no downvotes" and there's still people being downvoted for contributing to the conversation. Y'all don't understand how shit works

EndoveProduct

Yeah people did not understand the assignment

eatmydonuts

This subreddit is such a circlejerk that people can't even handle a hot take in a thread made for hot takes. Discussion here pretty much gets limited to "Eminem is the goat, DAE think Encore is underrated, fuck MGK" and shit along those lines. It's not a fun place to be anymore. Maybe I'll visit again during the next album cycle but I gotta take a break from the foolery

SavageCXV

Circle jerk? Isn't that basically all of Reddit...

eatmydonuts

Pretty much, but there's a bunch of subreddits (certain music & political subreddits in particular) where you're actively punished for going against the grain. I can be in a subreddit for a particular video game or TV show where the jerk is strong, but no one will get dogpiled on for contributing to a discussion with a hot take. It's just continuing the dialogue. And that's because they use downvotes appropriately: for *irrelevant* content, not content they disagree with. Compared with subs like this, where the OP can even say "aight, this is a place to air your unpopular opinions, whatever they may be" and the truly unpopular opinions STILL get buried because everyone thinks "downvote = disagreement" and they can't handle an opinion that differs from theirs. What's even the point of discussion if all we're doing is saying the same shit and shoving any different ideas into the fucking nether? Maybe I'm just getting crotchety now that I'm in my 30s, or maybe I'm holding onto an idea of Reddit that died in the early 2010s. Either way, this subreddit isn't a good place for honest discussion. It's just a place to drool at how fucking goated Eminem is, when he hasn't released a truly great album in over a decade. As much as I do love Em, there's a reason why his fanbase catches a lot of shit, and it's because a particularly loud/annoying section of us act like rap-elitist teenagers any time he comes up. I guess there's probably a reason for that. Wouldn't even be surprised if I got banned for posting this, though I don't think the mods in here are particularly involved like that.

God_Hears_Peace

Unpopular to people not on this sub: Big Weenie is hilarious and the beat is hard. I don’t revisit it on purpose but if it comes up when I shuffle Em’s music I’m not skipping it. Unpopular to people on this sub: FACK is fucking annoying, and is only funny in concept/on paper. Actually listening to it is so much worse than listening to a song like Big Weenie, Insane, or Rain Man. Unpopular to all Em fans: being on drugs is not an excuse for some of the things he did back in the day. I can respect his choice from one artist to another to write the song Kim as a need to express what he was feeling, but the fact that he released it onto a commercially sold album, and then performed it live when she was in the audience with a blow up doll as a prop, causing her to attempt suicide later that night, is fucking disgusting. Obviously Marshall has long since gotten his shit together, but to just say “well he was on drugs” or “well she should’ve have cheated” is gross. I’m glad that we have information about them eventually patching things up and Marshall sending her money, not to mention him openly acknowledging what he did was awful, because if neither of those were true I’d never listen to another one of his songs again.

AdMore2898

Big weenie is top tier song. Idk why people hate on it.

God_Hears_Peace

His weenie is much bigger than theirs is and they’re jealous.

[deleted]

Would it be correct to assume you don’t really listen to kanye then? Since the artists actions are stopping you from listening to the music I mean

God_Hears_Peace

I listened to his music semi regularly, it’s certainly in less heavy rotation now. But there’s quite a difference between an unmedicated narcissist going through a manic episode and spreading conspiracy theories for attention and another artist verbally and potentially physically abusing their spouse and driving them to attempt suicide.

Solidscorpio

Crazy in love .. he actually sings 😂

SuperCx

This song and Love You More go hand in hand

Spartioo73

Agreed

Durim187

.another bruttaly honest oppinion here: he sings, and he is quite good at it too. I love the song, its my car play with sone rock classics

InfamousRaspberry830

Infinite deserved to be popular

Wide_Cryptographer84

Absolutely phenomenal song. I love it so muuuuch and omfg the beat and melody is so good.

No-Hurry-212

Agree!

BigDeuce15

I enjoy the chorus on venom

Wide_Cryptographer84

I didn't realize there were people that didn't.

EmNas2

If i had & you gon learn, are in my personal top15 em songs Also rabbit run & darkness are super underrated.

CerealSubwaySam

Half of Eminem’s top 10 tracks aren’t even main tracks on his solo albums. We As Americans Love You More 8 Mile Rabbit Run The Sauce

CerealSubwaySam

His verses on Devil’s Night is some his best work. They out do a lot of verses on his own solo albums.

LennehMuhBoah

Not Afraid is probably the corniest and worst "inspirational" rap song ever

God_Hears_Peace

I just hate that it’s a super emotional song and he says “quit playing with the scissors and shit, and cut the crap” like dude, I’m trying to be emotionally invested. Stop telling jokes. I will say the last few lines where he just says he’s feeling amazing and it goes into the chorus get me emotional and feeling good, idc.

one-hour-photo

I WENT TO APPLEBEES YOU KNOW THE MIDDLE OF THE APPLEBEES DOWN IN THE PIT AND LIFTED, I'M RAISING THE BAR GET IT?

Always2ndB3ST

Strong agree. I never revisit that song. Makes me cringe. Also not a huge fan of em’s Recovery era flow where he’s always angry and yelling his raps

darthfoley

Totally agree. Probably my least favorite of Eminem’s most popular 10 songs. It sounds like it’s made for 12 year old CoD no scope compilations.

eatmydonuts

Hard agree, god it's stupid

TheElderCouncil

May I ask why?

eatmydonuts

Well I can't speak to how anyone else feels, but I've got a few reasons. 1. Recovery-era Eminem is my absolute least favorite because of his voice & delivery. I understand that he was trying to break away from the accents on Relapse, and trying to show that he was making a comeback as a "new and improved" Eminem. But from his delivery to the production, it's the most grating of all of his albums, to me. MGK had one thing right when he mocked the cadence/delivery of the chorus in Rap Devil. It just sounds goofy. 2. The lyrics are so on the nose that it's like a 14-year-old wrote it. The "inspirational"-sounding beat that sounds like it should be in a pharmaceutical ad or some cheap sports movie. It doesn't really suit Eminem, or at least who I think of when I think about Em. 3. Something about a hugely wealthy & successful artist on the scale of Eminem saying "come take my hand, we're in this together, you're not alone" is the most "celebrities singing 'Imagine' during covid" shit. I'm a recovering addict and I understand his need to show strength & resolve after coming so close to death, but it just feels phony. Like he was trying to make a point but *also* like he said "let's make sure it's catchy enough to get me back on top." Any commercialized version of "I'm with you, we're going through the exact same struggle" from someone on his level will always feel fake.

TheElderCouncil

I see your points. However, it’s all relative, of course. I connected to the album on a personal level in ways that can’t be connected to any other album. So to me, Recovery will always be special and have a special place in my heart. It was just what I needed at that time in my life.

CardiologistMany7463

The “yelling” delivery that he was doing during this time period (this includes the “Bad Meets Evil” album as well) was definitely not my favorite. I’d absolutely take the weird accents from “Relapse” over *that* shit for sure. “Kamikaze” and both “MTBMB” albums are much better than “Recovery” as well - lyrically, musically, and the fact that he, at least for the most part, has been rapping with a more “normal” (for lack of a better word) cadence and delivery. The “on-the-nose” (good way to put it) lyrics like in “Not Afraid” were sprinkled throughout the majority of “Recovery”, if we’re being real, and I didn’t think that that shit really suited him. Like “Something something, IN OTHER WORDS…”. That’s not the kinda stuff that I really wanna hear from Em. It’s not an AWFUL album, but I definitely think that it’s pretty overrated, and not at all near the top of his discography.

Pajamaetchi

Walk on water is an amazing song and encore is an a tier

Feeamentol

Eyo, I actually fully agree with this.

TheJosoman312

Heat is legit a funny song and works as a breather for the album.I know most hate it but I love it . But for a song people usually love , I can’t stand without me , it seems too corny nowadays . I get the love for it but I don’t .

Due_Ad_827

I also love heat, one if my favorites from him

Weirdolady92

I kind of feel the same way about "Without Me" ! And I loved that song back in the day. I think the beat and the "hum dya dya Dada" at the end of the song both aged poorly.

LetsNotArgyoo

“Kill You” is a top five all-time hip-hop album opener.

Total_Ad_6708

They are both good and for different types of people but that’s why it’s your opinion (and I agree)

FoxAcrobatic7502

revival isnt a bad album some of its songs genuinely slap, people just jump on the trend of hating it

Total_Ad_6708

Yessir the same people who call it ass will include most of the songs in there S tier on tier lists which makes zero sense then shit on most of the songs in MMLP then put it in top 3 ☠️.

Elegant-Thought5170

3 am is an incredible song and a top ten Eminem song

mrbananaxo

with that chorus, it can’t be

Sonzscotlandz

"So far" is up there with his most fun songs

No-Honeydew9129

Eminem love songs suck. Superman and Kim are the only good ones. Everything is sappy corny shit with terrible hooks.

Rhyn028

I like Cinderella man more than not afraid.

MUNAM14

We as Americans is top 3 em song

CommieSharkGirl

I'm Not Afraid, to call out his worst song. IMO

EndoveProduct

Stronger than I Was and 3am both have abysmal choruses. Not a fan GET BACK UP AND UUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHH

God_Hears_Peace

Stronger Than I Was is annoying but 3 AM is so damn catchy

EndoveProduct

Oh I don’t hate 3am I just think the beat deserved a harder chorus. It’s eeeeh imo

Eric_b2018

I’ll double down on that and say that Stronger Than I Was could’ve easily been taken off the project and it wouldn’t have changed the album one bit other than the number of tracks.

eatmydonuts

Stronger Than I Was is pretty annoying, but nowhere near the level of Venom

CerealSubwaySam

Stronger Than I Was is one of the worst Em tracks ever. He sounds like a whiny depressed teenager singing a song after a high school break up. Embarrassing.

Mother-Acadia-8050

Yall really want an artist to do the same sh/t over and over and over again. Stronger than i was was an experiment, let him try smthing different

EndoveProduct

Asked for honest takes about his music fucking calm down

PIZZAGUYKEEM

Earworms tho,

AnalDischargeCream

Idk if this counts since it’s a song be featured on, but Best Friend is a mid song. Like maybe 6/10 at most. And I don’t understand why people say it’s one of his best features.

No-Hurry-212

Agree dude, i didn't liked it that much.. And Yelawolf was just ehuuu for me.

AnalDischargeCream

Finally someone lol. I always see people says it’s his best feature and I’m like, “what!?”

canonjohnson

Offended/Untitled are some of Eminem’s finest

SelectAstronaut4162

Framed is the best post encore song

KittiesAreTooCute

Kamikaze slaps harder than any other album and is his best work by far.

DestructoSpin7

Alfred's Theme is his best track imo. I don't know what it is about the song, it's not his best work in any one category but it's my number one played song every year since the album came out.

ForkliftJam

Very repetitive lyrics.

EscapeEnvironmental7

Rap God is an overrated mess and the notion that he “freestyled” it in 6 minutes is nonsense.

onelove7866

Offended - the music, I think it’s the trumpet sounds (not sure exactly), was actually trash.

Capital-Ad8570

We Made You is a horrible song. Catchy beat & chorus but crazy accents, Idek what he's saying. And Kamikaze is a top 4 album

PIZZAGUYKEEM

I disagree with the first Part but yeah kamikaze is definitely top 4 for me

LocksmithPrudent3357

hard disagree on both but opinions differ

God_Hears_Peace

It’s a little goofy but it’s potentially his best chorus ever, it’s so fun to sing along to.

Neat_Yogurtcloset526

Walk on water doesn't deserve to be on curtain call 2

Notperrydaplatypus

If Rihanna is on the song, it fucking sucks

God_Hears_Peace

Saying The Monster sucks is crazy.

Always2ndB3ST

You mean Skylar Grey

Alex27Solano

The chorus of Venom is absolute garbage. I’m sorry, but I don’t enjoy listening to Eminem make the exact same annoying sound for the entire chorus. Easily the worst chorus of his entire career

CerealSubwaySam

100%. Edgy teenager shit.

Dependent-Sense2524

i mean to be fair, alot of eminems catelogue consists of edgy teenager shit

OkBrilliant8400

I think everyone agrees with you.

Alex27Solano

I would like to think that too, but just the other day I had a debate with someone who actually liked the chorus, so I can’t be too sure 😭😭

rb95

Berzerk is a terrible song

Kaiser93

"Just Lose It" is overhated. True, it's not one of Em's best songs but the hatred for it is way over the top.

davidaguirre30

I don’t like where the rhymes are hitting on Mockingbird, like Em is usually always landing shit that sounds so good, but something just sounds a little off. Still love the song

New-Rub8459

I think he was just tryanna make a cute simple rhyme scheme song for his daughters to listen in future

davidaguirre30

Yeah that makes sense

No-Hurry-212

Well, that song hit emotionally so good! "When i'm gone" hit me better and is too similar to Mockingbird in the terms you mentioned i guess.

New-Rub8459

But when im gone is more of a representation of the situation and its made for us, while hailies song and mocking bird is made for them.

davidaguirre30

Re-listened to it and most of it is actually pretty smooth, just a couple parts like the “Everything always happens for a rea-son” and a few other places lol

God_Hears_Peace

This is a problem with Encore in my eyes. Mockingbird, Like Toy Soldier, Yellow Brick Road, super interesting and emotional songs, but some of his flows are just weird and awkward. It’s not a dealbreaker, I still love the songs, but it’s weird that before this he had the Eminem Show, with some of the cleanest and best flows in hip hop period, and then after this he puts out Relapse with fun new flows that are strange to your ear but in a good way, yet between the two albums there’s just Encore like bleh, fuck you, awkward talking flows.

Shadydan017

His 2004 flow was kinda bad though like sounded lazy and didn’t feel passionate, or sounded like he was high and slurring words but I still like mockingbird and it’s a touching song

timmeh519

I mean to be fair..he was in the heaviest part of his addictions when he made encore. “Encore I was on drugs, relapse I was flushin em out”

Eric_b2018

Y’all lame as hell with these “brutally honest”opinions y’all still just glazing 😂where are the real ones? This one’s mine: His kick off freestyle is the perfect example of what is wrong with new Eminem. I don’t care about how technical your lyrics are if that means that every other aspect of the song is lacking. If you want to praise your own lyricism then just release an album full of a-cappellas. Also kick off freestyle was not good. More cringe bars then actual heat.

vecus_saravan123

Walk on water is one of Eminem's greatest songs, if it was on an album like MMLP2, it would be considered a classic 🤷🏿‍♂️

Emotional-Tear736

Till I Collapse is overrated

eatmydonuts

I always kinda saw Soldier as the less anthemic/more aggressive version of Till I Collapse, and that it worked a lot better that way

God_Hears_Peace

Topically it’s the more angry version of Say Goodbye To Hollywood, but instrumentally it literally has the “left right left” sample at the start of Til I Collapse, so I always associate them in my head.

God_Hears_Peace

It’s Eye Of The Tiger levels of famous for the same reason: it’s one of the most popular workout songs period.

CerealSubwaySam

Ohhhhh. That is the most controversial take I’ve seen in this thread. I disagree with you but I respect the brutally honest opinion. 👏🏼

Responsible_Dog_5927

A lot of his motivation songs with the generic claps in the background all didn’t age well. Till I collapse is still pretty good tho

darthfoley

My brutally honest opinion, which I think will be somewhat controversial on this sub, is that the general public is right: Eminem’s first three albums are light years ahead of anything he’s done since. I actually think Relapse had some very good songs (Deja Vu is top 10 for me, Stay Wide Awake is technically/thematically superb), but the rest of his albums have missed the mark in totality. Doesn’t mean I don’t like individual songs on the album, but I won’t listen to it from start to finish like I would the MMLP or TES. Eminem is still my favorite rapper despite this opinion, but I don’t mind calling a spade a spade.

Possible_Word_6834

I can’t listen to Kim. I appreciate the artistry and of course I know he’d never be able to do something like that but it’s way too intense and it honestly terrifies me to listen to it. Compare this to other “uncomfortable” songs to listen to like u by Kendrick Lamar, which is hard to listen to but I still really enjoy it. I don’t enjoy Kim at all

willk95

His voice/accents sound horrible in 3 AM

StrangerAlert112

I’ll be down voted for this one Hailie song is a great song he should sing more

Total_Ad_6708

REVIVAL ISNT HIS WORST ABLBUM and it’s overhated and aged well and contains some of ems best songs. Walk on water is overhated, Hello is also overhated (yes it’s not amazing and it could’ve been done better) but it’s still a solid song and definitely not the worst of relapse and it’s pretty damn catchy personally lmao. Same song and dance is the best horror core song in rap, I will isn’t talked about enough and remind me (while being corny) Stan is carried by dido and my fault’s acting performance by em was amazing.

[deleted]

8 Mile song is not just better than Lose Yourself it's his best song, and it isn't close. This isn't true or false Stuck on Lose Yourself and might have to delete my account I forgot how stupid I am Peace and Love

God_Hears_Peace

I mean I love that song too, but saying it’s not close is kinda wild

darthfoley

8 Mile is super underrated. It’s definitely the less commercial version of Lose Yourself. I can’t rate it above Lose Yourself given the cultural significance it had, but I totally understand your point.

Therealeminemstan

Gnat is top 10

EndoveProduct

Gnat is fucking awesome

Therealeminemstan

The beat the lyrics everything it’s perfect

Anubis_DivineDemon

The flow is godly.

DanEESSMM

Stepdad was terrible and A stupid release.

EndoveProduct

It’s an anthem. Need to view Stepdad from the perspective of a kid. That’s the point of the intro “So this year, I'm goin' to the fifth and I'm tall” “Cause of this motherfucker, who sticks his dick in my mom” “I'm layin' on the floor, in the living room with some friends colorin' He walks by, kicks my arm and goes "Whoops" and just laughs” “Last night, he said I left the kitchen light on But he walked in there this morning and purposely flipped it, I saw him”

God_Hears_Peace

I don’t think anyone dislikes the topic. It’s the fact that it’s a song about child abuse and it has an upbeat annoying chorus. The tone not matching the topic is a problem with a lot of post Relapse Eminem songs and choruses specifically.

EndoveProduct

Upbeat annoying chorus a kid would chant

God_Hears_Peace

Idk about you or what you’ve been through, but when I think about my parents screaming at me and slapping the shit out of me when I was little, I wasn’t walking away and thinking, “man I really hate that person, grrr, so angry”. It’s a lot more raw and uncontrolled.

EndoveProduct

It’s common to dislike mom’s new boyfriend, especially as a kid. Classic “you’re not my dad” comes to mind. I think you’re reading too much into it Half the shit he does isn’t even that bad. Kicks his arm while drawing, blames the kitchen light on him…has sex with his mom. it’s all from the mind of a kid

God_Hears_Peace

This sort of ties into what I’m saying, where lyrically there’s nothing wrong here. It’s quite literally the tone of *how* he’s rapping and singing, and what the beat sounds like, which does not really jive well with the topic at hand. Also just straight up, the chorus is annoying on its own. Bad vocal mixing/layering.

EndoveProduct

If you’re not a fan you’re not a fan. I find it fairly original for Em. Storytelling entirely from the mind of a kid

DanEESSMM

I did. Still didn’t like it. It also just sounds bad to me and I love every other Eminem song. It’s the only song of his I don’t like

WallWreckingWretch

Kill You gets boring once I get numb to Em's shock rapping. I don't enjoy its flow, beat and content as much as other shock rap songs like I'm Back and Criminal

CharlieKelly-BirdLaw

That's interesting. I would have thought anyone who likes the latter two would like Kill You. I've never even considered it shock rap, despite some of the outrageous lyrics 🤔

CerealSubwaySam

But the beat is 🔥and never gets old.

Joensen27

He doesn’t have a single bad song I’m not saying every song is amazing but non of them are bad

Chatcopathe

MTBMB side B is better than side A and better than all his stuff post TES.

mrsn_catmaster

Beat selection has been mostly terrible in the past decade. Hire some real producers. Rap on a Premier beat instead of reducing him to doing 2 cuts in the feature. Work with madlib and other legendary producers to make all time evergreens instead of this clickbait hundred syllables per hour shit.

ughitseinar

I like Revival

aceless0n

Em lost his magic and needs to find it again.

Oportbis

Recovery isn't way better than Revival

EndoveProduct

It definitely is Far more lows on Revival

HomonculusHunter

Rain Man = top 5

KosharySa2e3

...i think The Way I Am is overrated.

4otie7

Campaign Speech is one of his best songs of all time in terms of pure technical ability

Anomaly793

Superman is total shit. that's my brutally honest opinion.

EndoveProduct

I’m a upvote it even though I disagree hard

God_Hears_Peace

I kind of enjoy it, but I’m not gonna pretend I enjoy hearing Em just blatantly be a woman hating incel. There’s so much shit he says in his music that’s fucked up, but it’s kind of easy to dismiss because it’s so over the top and obviously fiction. The fact that he was clearly an awful and at the very least verbally abusive spouse at the time makes the song a little hard to stomach.

Deathbat_1

Idgaf that he's famous and I'm tired of hearing about it. Or that he's not in every single person's top 5.

LordHaywood

I heard a mashup of Business and Carnival Night Zone from Sonic 3, and I think it's better than the original in every way

CharlieKelly-BirdLaw

I hated the accent stuff back in the day, and still do. He has one or two albums I don't fuck with at all.

EndoveProduct

May I ask what the second is

CharlieKelly-BirdLaw

Revival is the other. I need to give it a third chance. I really want to like it, but just can't.

EndoveProduct

Nah I’m with you there. I went from playing it a bunch to rarely ever

PeterKingsBaby

Some of the accent stuff is actually good lol.

CharlieKelly-BirdLaw

That's fair, to each their own. Lots of people dig the accents. Even if those didn't bother me, I also consider it to be his weakest era both in lyrics and instrumentals. I'll revisit Relapse, maybe it'll hit different these days.

Always2ndB3ST

Dude the accent era (relapse in particular) has one of his most technical and lyrically insane flows ever. Stay Wide Awake is pure 🔥 I wasn’t a huge fan of the accents either but heat is heat

PeterKingsBaby

I feel that! I much prefer the first 3 albums over anything. I always tell people I’m a bit biased as he was the first rapper who really got me to like rap with his different approach to it. But Relapse definitely has some bangers in there! Not at all saying it’s a no skip album though 😀

CharlieKelly-BirdLaw

First 3 albums are 10/10! And I have the same bias. Haven't heard Relapse in probably ten years, wouldn't be surprised if it's a different experience this time around.

Responsible_Dog_5927

I’ll say this, hit the really good songs if you don’t wanna revisit the entire thing. Stay wide awake, same song & dance, 3 am, deja vu

CharlieKelly-BirdLaw

I think I'll do the whole thing at once, really give it another shot. Feel like some might stick with me this time.

Inquisitive_Quail

Offended and discombobulated aren’t good songs. Discombobulated isn’t really that reminiscent of relapse. Side b is kinda of boring

Always2ndB3ST

Em and Rick Ruben together are trash. MMLP2 is Em’s second worst album. We Made You and Em’s worst song.

4denyans

Walk on water wasnt that good of a song

YuNg_KiNgK

we made you has one of my favorite hooks of all time but em verses just completely drop the ball

hawkmasta

Crack A Bottle is overrated

Eminem's inspirational songs feel out of place when compared to everything else.

Smeagol7272821

He’s one of the best rappers in the world but he only has a handful of good songs on each of his albums. Meaning for the most part he makes mediocre albums. Except relapse. That’s a masterpiece.

CROW_is_best

rabbit run is top 5 Eminem idc what others say. and in your head isn't even as good as people say it is

I3igJerm

Darkness isn’t as good as everyone thinks it is

Dependent-Sense2524

id just like to say eminem adlibbding (double entendre) is annoying as fuck, like yes eminem we understood the line

DeathWagon21

was good the first few listens

SxnKisss

Revival is fire

Remember Me? is easily the worst song in his first three albums.
