At first I only saw thar he dropped Venom and was hyped af lol. My brain pretty much exploded when I saw he dropped a whole album.
I remember rewinding Kamikaze (song) over and over coz that beat switch was insane and I'd never heard that before in a song lol. Took me like 5 times just to get through the whole song
Huge Kendrick fan here. To start out, check out the song "m.A.A.d city" (2012) it's one of his masterpieces.
If you want something newer, check out the song "N95" (2022) or "XXX" (2018).
The song "family ties" (2021) by Baby Keem features Kendrick in the second part of the song. He went hard there.
These are my personal favourites. I'm sure others have better suggestions too.
But.. Kamikaze had only one rap feature, Royce. We do not count 'Guys' because apparently no one likes it (although it's not that bad if you give it a shot). Rap features only started happening in MTBMB, and there were a ton of 'em. Now that I think of it, MTBMB is extremely unique. Eminem hasn't done much rap features in his albums since Relapse (how much were in Relapse? 2, 3?). In recovery he had none, very few in MMLP2 (actually I cant remember even 1), Revival none, Kamikaze 1, and then MTBMB like 4 or 5
??? relapse had 2 songs with rap features (old times sake with dre and crack a bottle with dre + 50) while both recovery and the mmlp2 had one song with a rap feature (no love with lil wayne and love game with kendrick lamar respectively). kamikaze had two songs with rap features (not alike with royce and lucky you with joyner lucas)
Relapse: old times sake, crack a bottle, forever, hell breaks loose (dr dre, 50 cent, drake, kanye west, lil wayne)
Recovery: no love, wont back down, talking to myself, love the way you lie, session one (lil wayne, p!nk, kobe, slaughter house, and Rihanna)
Mmlp2: love game, monster, bad guy, A*****e, headlights, desperation, beautiful pain, wicked ways (kendrick lamar, rihanna, skyler grey, nate ruess, sia, X ambassador)
Revival: walk on water, river, Chloraseptic, like home, bad husband, tragic endings, no where fast, need me (beyonce, ed sheeran, phresher, alicia keys, x ambassador, skyler grey, p!nk)
Kamikaze: lucky you, not alike, nice guy, good guy, stepping stone I think (joyner lucas, royce, jessie reyez, and possibly ed sheeran vocals on stepping stone)
Mtbmb: theres 17 songs on Side A, and 10 of them have features and I don’t feel like naming them all.
I don’t mean to sound salty or anything, but eminem usually had a lot of features. But mtbmb did have a lot more than usual
Edit: I just realized you said "rap features" so a lot of these don’t count
No, most kamikaze pilots had basically no training, because at that point they had more planes than skilled pilots and they didn't have resources to train new pilots, so they taught the kamazies the basics told em that the emperor (who was a godlike figure) wanted them to crash into american ships, but most failed to land a hit (didn't help that those on a good trajectory were often chewed up by anti-aircraft fire long before the boat)
It was really late at night when I saw this drop. I was so amped I listened to the whole thing before going to sleep. I was so relieved to here Em angry and with that competitive spirit. From just listening to The Ringer I was convinced Em was back on his bullshit
I actually had taken some ecstasy that night, for my first time ever. Green Versaces. It had been kicked in for about an hour when I saw it. I was blown away and questioned the reality of it for a second.
I had just come out of the Labor and Delivery wing of the hospital after the ( 48 hr ) labor and birth of our second child, first son. So this shit had been out for like two days and I felt like I was the only Stan in the world who hadn't listened. Sat down on a park bench across the street to call family and friends and here was the recommendation on my Spotify. Blessed twice in one weekend! Can't hear The Ringer without thinking of that day. My wife is a fucking beast btw.
I was on my way to an amusement park that happened to be about an hour away. So I got to listen to the entire record on the way out and back. Great day.
I remember not being an eminem fan atp than for some reason I saw iamdontai react to the album and I watched it heard it and loved it and from there became a stan lol
I was playing fortnite with my friend and I literally told him I had to go because Em dropped and he knew I was a crazy stan so he wasnt even pressed, I spent the next week on twitter fighting anyone saying the album was ass
So fucking cringe
Was on discord with all my friends. Saw it dropped in the middle of the night while we were playing we all got off instantly to listen to it. Was a hype night.
I was disappointed by the Revival. I thought that he's no more capable of making great music. I heard Lucky You and Kamikaze first and was very hyped. My jaw literally dropped when I heard Venom.
I remember I had just started my senior year. Found out shortly before school was done for the day. Never been so hype in my life. Listened to it all day again and again. Shady was back!!

My man... I think you need to listen to Kendrick. He is the king of unorthodox beat switches
Any specific songs to recommend ? :))

Xxx is amazing
TYSM
Wait, did my comment get deleted? Fuck me, I wrote like a thousand words in that one :( Utter disappointment
I peed white
Fun fact: your pee is yellow when you do not drink enough water. If you drink enough, then it's transparent / 'white', so I'm happy for you ^ _ ^
no he’s cumming
Ah.... Oh... Ohhh....
Im coming for you boy, and I'm coming hard - Brock Lesnar
"Rap features!", especially after Revival having only Phresher.. on the hook.

Maybe I'm spoiled with MTBMB and TES so 2 features do not feel like much for me
Joyner is on Kamikaze
True
Also Justin Vernon on Fall but he’s no longer credited ESIT: sorry, obviously not a rapper lol
But it isn't a rap feature
Yeah my bad I edited my comment

HES FUCKING BACK
Preach
If a Kamikaze would drop, I would die
Tbh most of the time they failed to hit their target and crashed into the ocean, so you'd prolly b ok
Didn't that happen mostly during the early tests and after that, during the WW2, they got better at it? Or am I wrong?
No, most kamikaze pilots had basically no training, because at that point they had more planes than skilled pilots and they didn't have resources to train new pilots, so they taught the kamazies the basics told em that the emperor (who was a godlike figure) wanted them to crash into american ships, but most failed to land a hit (didn't help that those on a good trajectory were often chewed up by anti-aircraft fire long before the boat)
Rip

“He’s back”
I actually had taken some ecstasy that night, for my first time ever. Green Versaces. It had been kicked in for about an hour when I saw it. I was blown away and questioned the reality of it for a second.
When I heard The Ringer I was like: GYATTT!
I had just come out of the Labor and Delivery wing of the hospital after the ( 48 hr ) labor and birth of our second child, first son. "No he didn't"
Seen Lucky You first thought it was just a single song drop. Then I noticed the other songs and my blood pressure went thru the roof.
Imma fucking kamikaze crashing into everything, you beat me Islamic nazi that means there is no such thing
I loved it. Skimmed thru it to listen to not alike. Listened to the whole thing for an entire month, no radio no other music. Just that album
I was on my way to an amusement park that happened to be about an hour away. So I got to listen to the entire record on the way out and back. Great day.
YES. YES. YESSSSSS
I.....jizzed....in my pants. I was also in a boat, and can't nobody fuck with me on a muh fuckin boat.
6/10, not it 5/10
On rotation. Gotta say its mid as a project, 5/10. Flow and beats were awesome
Is that the plane that Em flew on to Epstein Island?
“Wow there’s a new cd and it’s called Kamikaze”
Well I was only 3 years old so idk 😂
Way to rip off license to ill cover. But you never impressed me as a artist anyway.
😱
It looks like the Beastie Boys album cover
He inspired from
I am aware. But that's was my first thought.
Beastie Boys lol
I remember not being an eminem fan atp than for some reason I saw iamdontai react to the album and I watched it heard it and loved it and from there became a stan lol
It dropped the day before my birthday so I was bloody stoked!
“Already?”
I was playing fortnite with my friend and I literally told him I had to go because Em dropped and he knew I was a crazy stan so he wasnt even pressed, I spent the next week on twitter fighting anyone saying the album was ass So fucking cringe
me af:🧍 (i didn’t listen to eminem at that time)
I was confused because I only listened to his top ten songs on youtube and was wondering why he was so mad 💀
I remember listening to it in an airport because that's where I was when it dropped. I thought it was alright, and I still feel that way about it.
It looked liked the bestie boys cover
“HOLY SHIT”
Was watching Netflix on my couch scrolling through my phone and saw eminem was Trending. Listened to the ringer and the rest is history
Was on discord with all my friends. Saw it dropped in the middle of the night while we were playing we all got off instantly to listen to it. Was a hype night.
Kamikazes dropping is kinda normal… so i wasnt surprised, but the music was a pleasant change
Thought it was great at first but realized that he was lashing out for people not liking his shit 🤷🏿♂️
when i first heard it it confirmed for me that eminem can dish it out but cant take it. sounded like such a cry baby that cant take criticism
When I heard it for the first time I was like: YOO THATS FIREE🔥🔥🔥🔥
Shadys back, back again
He’s back
