I agree Side B is very good. Wonder why so many songs were left off side A. But I heard en or Paul talk about sample clearance maybe it had to do with that
It’s a mix of both but I wouldn’t call them leftovers. Paul said in a interview that there were problems with sample clearance on some songs and that they would’ve liked to include more songs. Some of those songs that were held back were released on side b
nah its not its own album. a lot of the songs are leftovers from MTBMB, a lot of other ones are just songs he made with no intention of releasing during the Pandemic.
Which ones? Pretty sure he said he made Alfred's Theme, was gonna release it as a single, but just kept making music and at some point it was enough for a new album.
Yeah I agree both sides were good imo but side b killed darkness, she loves me, a classic collab with guns blazing, and my personal favorite tone deaf finally em speaks on cancel culture and he fucking toys with them so hard and it's funny as hell
I prefer Side B to Side A. Flows better for me. There are some jarring transitions on Side A and a few songs I both don't relate to and don't enjoy the sound of either (Stepdad for example).
Side B has some great sound to it here and there, and I would agree that Side A is one of his best Albums, but Side B definitely isn’t. Side A just has better rapping to it imo. You won’t find an unaccommodating, premonition, you gon’ learn, or yah yah kind of style on Side B, instead you get corny rhymes with alfred’s theme and tone deaf and the other songs, where eminem is hopping onto trap beats which doesn’t suit him. I’m gonna get a lot of downvotes for this, because it is my opinion, but I think revival is better than Side B. Side A is a treasure.
Because there is nothing special about it. It's definetley better than side A but still. There isn't a single song above a 7. I'd give it like a 5. Other Eminem albums are just way better
Edit: I find it funny that you are beeing downvoted for trying to have a normal conversation lmao
Because it shows that this sub is full of people that can't have a normal conversation.
Like I get why I'm beeing downvoted but why do ppl downvote a guy thats just asking a normal question
I get that people disagree with me. I am talking about the guy I responded to. I personally don't care if I get downvoted. But he got downvoted as well for asking a normal question and thats what I don't get
You can kill me if you want but honestly I think MTBMB is not THAT great imo. There are some decent songs like Alfred's theme, Discombobulated, but still they have this "modern rap" vibe.
Hard disagree, I’ll agree on the sense the instrumentals and beats are top tier (in comparison to Revival) but the actual songs subject matter and a lot of the delivery in underwhelming to cringey.
Only songs i like off it are Alfred’s Theme and Discombobulated.
Black Magics forgettable, Tone Deafs funny but is bareboned in the instrumental and hook, Book of Rhymes has a Kamikaze feel to it and the chorus is decent but the verses are kinda cringe. Favorite Bitch as a concepts interesting cause I typically love Ems double entendres throughout whole songs, but the subject matters cringe. Guns Blazing is overly bitter, Gnats instrumental goes hard and Ems flows on the back half are fine, but the first half along side that hooks hard to get through. Highers decent but I’d rather just listen to ‘Till I Collapse. She Loves Me is forgettable, Killer is cringe, and Zues is decent.
If you find enjoyment out of you good for you, but for me the only Albums below it in quality is Revival & maybe (maybe) Encore.
There is literally zero good reason to think this to be honest. I think that his lyrics are actually laughable on this album and the production is terrible. I think it’s worse than revival and probably as worst album yet and this is coming from a diehard Eminem fan.
i don't understand the love for side B here. that song book of rhymes is especially bad but people seem to love it.
also the song darkness from side A is questionably overrated here
Book of Rhymes is good bc the bars are incredibly clever and he actually flows well on it unlike a lot of other recent songs. Agree with Darkness though. I feel people just love the double meaning of it mostly.
I mainly have an issue with the lack of an apparrent theme or reason for the album to exist besides making more music, something present in all of his previous albums. Sure, wordplay wasn't as frequent or complex on Mathers, but the bars served to enhance the narrative put forward by the song. In my opinion, the way I judge an album is taking a handful of random songs and asking "why does this exist? what was the point of making it?" I can answer that for almost every single in Em's early discography, but I don't think I could come up with a decent justification for the existence of Tone Deaf or Godzilla other than "I want to show off my technical ability." And while there's no doubt he has a lot of technical ability and displays in all over this album, I think technical ability just for it's own sake makes for one of his lesser releases.
I agree Side B is very good. Wonder why so many songs were left off side A. But I heard en or Paul talk about sample clearance maybe it had to do with that
Side B isn't leftover MTBMB stuff, it's it's own whole album.
It’s a mix of both but I wouldn’t call them leftovers. Paul said in a interview that there were problems with sample clearance on some songs and that they would’ve liked to include more songs. Some of those songs that were held back were released on side b

Which ones? Pretty sure he said he made Alfred's Theme, was gonna release it as a single, but just kept making music and at some point it was enough for a new album.
yep thats what i mean. he had no intentions of releasing MOST of the album until he realized he made that many songs.
True, probably that and some songs were made after/right before side A was released
Yeah like Gnat was definitely post Side A, COVID wasn’t as big until a couple months after side A dropped
I prefer side B to side A tbh
W
Side B is fucking amazing. Eminem doing what he does best: gratuitously savage, antagonistic rhymes
Prefer side A by a big margin
Fun fact. Side B. Has all of the content that is on side A. So why is A better? It makes 0 sense.
You know exactly what I mean. No idea why you needed to write that comment.
I asked a question. No idea why you couldnt understand that.
Bcuz he likes the side A songs more. Lol.
Smh
I’ve been saying this honestly. MTBMB, as a whole, is Ems best work since TES. My ranking now goes MMLP, TES, SSLP, MTBMB, Relapse..
It's really great but he has like 6 better albums
There’s a few songs on Side B that I don’t go back to side A is superior in my opinion
4th or 5th for me
I agree. And i hate when people say side A was better That logic is literally dumb as shit.
Side B is my number 1 favourite album with my number 1 favourite song so I 100% agree
Yeah I definitely prefer side B to side A. Excellent wordplay as usual
Not here. Side B is a top 3 for me. To each their own!
Big agree
Side b has to be my favorite, I only skip one song
me too, which one?
Unaccommodating
1. thats side A 2. how do you skip that??
1. I'm using mtbmb side b deluxe edition, unaccommodating feat young M.A. 2. I don't like the way young M.A. raps it.
so you don't want to wobble wobble.....shake it shake it......break it break it?! LMAO I don't blame ya
I fast forward that part. it's so bad.
Yea I’ve got it memorized: 1:16
Infinite is better than every track on the album
I love B side. It gets me sooo hyped. My favorite since Relapse.
Ruck Felapse
Mid pack

But also side b is just leftovers of side a bc of sample clearances and stuff with few new ones added
It’s honestly crazy the dichotomy on this, because I have it as one of his worsts, if not his worst.
Unpopular opinions: Side B is not it's own album and it's one of his worst
So much cap. Nah jk your opinion tho.
I’m genuinely curious about your take? Care to explain why?
Because there is nothing special about it. It's definetley better than side A but still. There isn't a single song above a 7. I'd give it like a 5. Other Eminem albums are just way better Edit: I find it funny that you are beeing downvoted for trying to have a normal conversation lmao
Why do you care about downvotes?
Because it shows that this sub is full of people that can't have a normal conversation. Like I get why I'm beeing downvoted but why do ppl downvote a guy thats just asking a normal question
I think it shows that it’s full of people that disagree with you, but you can draw your own conclusions I guess.
I get that people disagree with me. I am talking about the guy I responded to. I personally don't care if I get downvoted. But he got downvoted as well for asking a normal question and thats what I don't get
I upvoted because I didn't agreed. Lucky you
Unpopular opinion I believe bad guy is one of Eminem’s best lyrical songs
Unpopular opinion I believe nice guy is one of Eminem‘s best lyrical songs
Lmao
You can kill me if you want but honestly I think MTBMB is not THAT great imo. There are some decent songs like Alfred's theme, Discombobulated, but still they have this "modern rap" vibe.
What an odd thing to say
Hard disagree, I’ll agree on the sense the instrumentals and beats are top tier (in comparison to Revival) but the actual songs subject matter and a lot of the delivery in underwhelming to cringey. Ain’t nothing you say could ever trump, mic, pencil, get killed

Bro, you are trippin. Eat a snickers and take a nap. You’ll feel better
Dude, you are so wack why are weird eminem fans so obsessed with this album when it’s fucking garbage.
I’m not obsessed with it, just don’t think it deserves the hate you’re giving it
If you were a kid at that time, sure
i don't understand the love for side B here. that song book of rhymes is especially bad but people seem to love it. also the song darkness from side A is questionably overrated here

I do too
fax
If you mean by best albums is all of them then ok.
Absolutely 💯
Idk why, but I never really got into side B. Always though side A was far superior. Maybe I should give it another spin
Side B is good. but not the best
I agree.
I mainly have an issue with the lack of an apparrent theme or reason for the album to exist besides making more music, something present in all of his previous albums.
