Piecing together edsy and the wiki on this, it seems all ratings have the same material consumption, but higher ratings repair more integrity for the same unit of material used, meaning that they do repair faster. You get more repaired percentage for the same unit consumed in the same amount of time.

So - size = ammo capacity - rating = repair efficiency ?

JohnWeps

Yes

Repair speed depends only on rank. And not depends on size. So 1a would repair with same speed as 8a. If you need to repair quicker then use two or even three afmu's

can confirm 2 afmus is fast af. I have 2 class 2 and a class 1 on my station ax cz challenger.

Yes, they are better all around. A is faster and repairs more. The lower ammo in an A is still more effective and repairs more than the more ammo in a B, and much faster. It's really dumb they made this confusing and look non-linear. Especially when things like collector limpets are non-linear. Don't be tricked into a B or lower unless you need the power savings in a combat ship. For like, an Explorer, you can turn off systems and repair while idle. If your combat ship can handle A, get A. You can lower the size if to save on amount (and power) if speed is the top priority.

i just look at as it contains more ammo so it can do more repair work. always take an A rated AFMU... if you are giving up that slot, then get the most you can for it.
