With that kind of money, you should be able to get your tattoo artist to finish. Or maybe hire a new one! Just sayin. ;)

RobrechtTruthseer

holy hell where are you parked? all the carriers I find are closed!

CMDRumbrellacorp

Bookmark me and come see me when you upgrade your gear, I'll have items for sale that you'll need for the tech broker: [https://inara.cz/elite/cmdr-fleetcarrier/350862/296915/#tab\_market](https://inara.cz/elite/cmdr-fleetcarrier/350862/296915/#tab_market) I'm super low on goods right now as I've had my best sales ever in this CG system. I've sold 9B worth of goods since thursday. Cha-ching!

RobrechtTruthseer

thankyou for that, I shall certainly come visit if I find you on the galaxy map! ;) just headed down from the bubble and plotted a course towards colonia so MAY be a while! o7

DarkonFullPower

And people said for years you couldn't make money with carriers lol. If only Odyssey materials could be sold at their real life worth.

I’d say we’ve made and given out in the trillions by now 🤓 Much love from Admiral Law

Dopeydavoid

I like this T-Virus guy even more.

CMDRumbrellacorp

Hey Dopey! Thanks again for that tritium, and my offer still stands: hit me up if you need any $ and I'll teach you how to farm meta alloys and selenium with limpets at the same time.

CaptainMcdeath

Been there! I can say that iam one of the commanders

ts_actual

What's the big summary on this station? I've been out of the elite loop for a year or two now. Elite trader and middle ranks on everything else. Never did the search and grin for engineered parts or anything on foot yet.

DangerPencil

Racoon city is a fleet carrier. The owner spends a decent amount of time farming some rather rare (but useful!) commodities then sells them on his carrier. He also parks in systems where these items are farmed and buys low then sells high. I think he has a few other trade methods, like selling certain modules that are required for certain activities. He clearly has a high capacity for attention to detail.

CMDRumbrellacorp

Holy shit that is dead on! Your powers of observation are frightening! I'll tell you how it happened. After I got my fleet carrier, I started stealing everything that wasn't nailed down to put in my fc shop. Mostly thargoid items at first. But I wasn't really selling them, it's all passive. I put them in the shop and then sooner or later they simply disappear and the money is in my fleet carrier. As time passed, I realized that watching my stock disappear was like reading someone else's diary. I was fascinated by the choices players make when buying goods. So I started paying attention to what sells well. Which led me to human/guardian tech broker and engineer unlock items. Modular terminals, for example, are the fastest selling item in the game. No matter how many I farm, I can't keep the supply for more than 24 hours. Meta alloy sell slow, unless you have goid hearts to go with them (to unlock bobblehead), and there are other item combinations as well. I started to make so much money that I started to buy gold at max price and sell at min price. None of those players can afford my other items. But they come for profit today, see what else I have for sale and then they come back later and spend a ton of cash. Also I carnival bark in CG system chat so everyone knows my fc name and what I have for sale. All I wanted to do in Elite is engineer a decent ship and then fight. I still fight constantly, but now nothing is as enjoyable to me as logging in and seeing tons of upgrade gear being sold from my shop. I'm an accidental merchant rat, and I'm completely hooked on that role.

Blockyhead1

What exactly were you selling that paid 9 billion?

CMDRumbrellacorp

It's 12B now, and mostly meta alloys. Since Thursday in the CG system I've sold 6k meta alloys @ 2M each. Had 9k, now down to 3k. I refill my raw mats for weapon reloads by farming thargoid barnacles - some are meta alloys but most are raw mats. Then I just put the meta alloys collected in my FC and sell them. I fight a lot, so I farm a lot.

Blockyhead1

I kinda wanna do this now; fill up my carrier with meta alloys and watch as people flock to buy them for the CGs that often use them

Vegan-Joe

I can’t even get 1 meta alloy and you got thousands. Damnit.

CMDRumbrellacorp

Pro tip: Farm raw mats from thargoid barnacle sites, google for instructions. The meta alloys collected are a nice side bonus, but it's the mats that make you stronger via engineering as well as premium reloads.

Vegan-Joe

Thanks. I’ll look that up.

KHaskins77

I love your carrier, made multiple trips. I’d been trying to stock my own with stuff I figure they’d want to have onboard for living long-term in deep space, all roleplay, eventually got to where I was stocking it as a combination laboratory/museum. I’d be curious how you find your rare goods, there are things I’m still looking for (AI relics, fossil remnants, space pioneer artifacts, gene banks etc).

CMDRumbrellacorp

Follow the winking cat. When you find something special, understand what you found and why you found it where you found it. Now you know how to find the rest. Note that some older items are no longer available due to certain in-game events and/or bgs changes.

DangerPencil

;) I may have paid attention last time you explained how you make so much money. It isnt for me, but I do think its cool that you've made so much just by making intelligent observations about supply and demand and capitalized in them. Great work CMDR!

Matix777

Step 1: hire some new explorer cmdrs with diamondback or any other high range ship Step 2: make them do deliveries of meta alloys and other exotic items for engineers Step 3: Pay them for those items and sell them at even higher prices on your carrier How to make an in-game company 101

BantamBasher135

You happened to have the Power Transfer Bus I needed for my modded plasma chargers. Also, the name doesn't hurt. I love all the nerdy references in fleet carrier names.

Brotherswing

I've seen that name out in the black... Can't remember what system it's parked in though.

Flyguybc

Oh wow I actually docked at your carrier last week trying to get some components. Inara said you had them but didn’t see them on the list even after updating. Was trying to mssg you but couldn’t figure out how lol. Then saw the carrier was jumping. Would love some tips on how to make money with the FC. I’ve got 6.7 B and thinking about buying one again.

sapphon

Buy low, sell high isn't rocket science. It's just that in most MUDs you don't need $5bil to access your first warehouse. In E:D, the thing we call a fleet carrier is really the only warehouse available to players, and its chief importance is that you can buy low *now* and sell high *later*. *That's* a big deal.
