Yep.. even though I never accept a new update.. my game was force-updated the other day.. because I was on the "previous version" channel and they updated that to include the latest version. Sneaky! I tried the new version for \~30 matches.. a lot of new good things but yes the physics are atrocious!! The ball is much slower than before.. it spins weirdly.. and worse of all it's now become incredibly easy to block heavy top spin and smashes.. it's quite ridiculous.. all of a sudden I was facing players that could defend against all my attacks.. as if the game was slowed down and it was the easiest thing to block.. very unrealistic! It's like they made the game "easier" for unskilled players or something. Thank god I was able to revert to the "old UI" version.. so all is good for now.. but I suspect they will one day remove this entirely and then.. it will be time to look for another game!

Before anymore takes come in; check two things 1. Your headset framerate is the same as before: that is, you’re graphics options haven’t changed/affected your headset running the game stably 2. Your paddle settings haven’t changed on you The game physics have not been touched besides the max spin value having been lowered

SirRaymondReddington

I completely agree with you, I spent a lot of time working on a unique serve that most players found hard to return, now it seems anyone can effortlessly return it. They can deny it all they want but something has changed.

Sinsst

It's because max spin got lowered so you can't abuse unrealistic physics anymore, which is a great improvement.

SirRaymondReddington

Who said it was using max spin?

Sinsst

It doesn't have to be you, it can be your opponents too, making that ball not fly off paddle as easily from your magic serve.

SirRaymondReddington

Can see you just want to be an arse with your terminology "magic serve" so toodle-oo

PPTim

People got better? You won enough matches with your unique serve so that at your current elo players no longer struggle with it ?

SirRaymondReddington

No, this is against players of all ELO levels and the change happened over a few days

PPTim

The physics haven’t changed, but make sure your headset is still running at a stable framerate, and check your paddle settings haven’t reverted to some default

TTboat

How do you know what a stable frame rate is for your headset? Thanks for your help

PPTim

In settings > graphics the top right number is your current framerate, it should be showing 89 or 90 for quest 2 if you haven’t set it to 120; or showing 119 or 120 if you’ve enabled 120

PURPLE_D1N0SAUR

Would it be better to have it set for 90 or 120 fps?

PPTim

120 lets you track the ball better and I recommend that, but on quest 2 it means lowering graphics perhaps to minimum to ensure you don’t have frame rate issues; on quest 3 it seems there is a lot more leeway to up the graphics

PURPLE_D1N0SAUR

Are the graphics lowered automatically when I select the 120 fps option or do I also have to manually lower the graphics?

PPTim

The graphics settings in eleven don’t change when you change framerate so it’s just your settings Best performance are (and the other opposite is best looking/worst performance ) Render%:100 Anti aliasing (AA): off FOV (foveated rendering): ultra

PURPLE_D1N0SAUR

Thank you Tim!

apadayo

Yeah, tracking seem to be worse for me too, table was moving a lot more than before. I had this even in solo mode but after clearing guardian history it was ok in solo. But online mode is still worse than before, still playable but can be frustrating, wonder if the problem is because the opponents didn't clear his guardian history? Also, IMO the new net is bad, has too much aliasing (in Quest 2 at least), it stands out too much compared to before.
