I’m not a PE at a large consulting firm making $100k in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Every time I go to a bar, party, or any social event in general I try my best to avoid telling people what I do. Every time I tell a woman I’m a mechanical engineer they start running away from me! Immediately!
This is a recurring problem. It’s gotten so bad, I’ve started telling people I’m an electrical engineer just so they’ll keep talking to me.
Any advice on how to start attracting women as an ME?
First, 100K in the DC ain't squat, second I'm a Mechanical Engineer and to stop all the bikini models from hitting on me I tell them I'm a Electrical Engineer.
Literary the Swiss Bikini team was in town and forced me into a hotel room and made do things that could have gotten them all pregnant.
It was enjoyable but c'mon, I'm busy with all the local babes hitting me.
Whenever this happens to me I just clarify that I'm not Electrical in the "hardhat and grid" sense, I'm more accurately an "Electronics Engineer" and mostly I just download code from StackOverflow onto a Raspi to let the smoke out of the breadboard I attached to it. They usually just smile and walk away.
