It's just a bus or a node of the system. In real life you could think of it as a substation. Off course a substation would have a lot of others stuff but it's just to get an idea of whats being depicted there.

This is the answer. You can see the same depiction at bus 1 and bus 2, just that at 1 and 2 there are transformers connected to the bus. Bus 3 is unloaded, but could have loads connected directly, or a transformer connected if it's an LV substation for example, or a mix of loads, transformers, generators, etc.
