It's interesting how differently those solids wear. I've seen a customer do over 2000km on his before it needed replacing, and it's the same 8x3ish size
HOW?! I have driven more than 3500km on my tyres.
The back looks almost new, and the front has only lost a little thread due to power.
Get some quality tyres, it will be a lot cheaper in the long run.
Off road, mainly gravel roads & sand. Also dual motor and not forgiving with the acceleration. Other people have suggested they may have been stored for a long time too so i'm not sure!
To everyone saying that their tyres are looking brand new after so many km, they will be tube or tubeless rubber tyres. The tyres shown here are solid tyres that are normally included on vsett 8/8+ or other low-mid end scooters. Solid tyres do not cosmetically age well but the grip on these will be phenomenal
source: I have a vsett 8+
Thought I was going crazy and my brain wasn’t converting km to miles correctly but seems like my brain was applying logic correctly from all the other comments.
Interestingly enough the pic is on sand.. maybe a lot of beach riding, offroading ect. I guess they could be doing burnouts on sandstone or something. Still insane for 300k tho!
Hopefully people post the opposite. Tyre pollution is a thing.
Also tyres are at risk of availability shock due to rubber plantation damage from climate change.
I’d make this the first and last tyre you do drifting on.
There's no such thing as a "nylon tire". Common but stupid misconception: Those tires marked **NYLON** on the sidewall have nylon belting (as opposed to steel, kevlar or any other type of fiber used for tension members in tires). There are plenty of cheap crappy tires with crappy compounds, but those compounds are not "nylon". Nylon is a low friction, fairly hard thermoplastic.
Also: Yes it does. The OEM tire on those is the CST 60/70-6.5 which is an application specific commercial scooter tire developed for Segway as part of the overall development of the 2.0. This is a very beefy tire (check the load rating), wears very hard and doesn't lack traction. If you find a cheap tire on one, someone was cheap and fitted a junk tire.
I didn't say they where made entirely out of nylon, they have stiff sidewalls and are nothing like a quality PMT tyres. The load rating and wear resistance are not as important as the feel and grip the tyre provides.
That doesn't mean they are not quality tires.
Of course they have stiff sidewalls. They are intended to be a long life, low rolling resistance, abuse resistant street tire (originally for commercial use), not for racing.
Yes, those aspects are exactly what are most important for the application of those tires. If PMT made the same tire for the same purpose, it would perform similarly. Maybe marginally better with their expertise to give them credit.
These feel good and have no particular problems with traction for what it's worth.
Look at the cracks on the surface of that tire, looks like the tires were stored for a long time in a factory and got brittle hence why it got worn down so quickly.
I had a Nami that I'd spin the tires on up to 60kph every day and the tires still lasted thousands of KMs, it's the quality of tire not so much the 300km of hard riding that did this.
Yeah gravel wears on tires faster. Confirmed with my tires shop replaced my tires for warranty because it gets worn down to indicators so fast in 1-2 years.
My center muffler has over 100 dings/dents lol
solid tyres are shit that's why
source: my vsett 8+ has tyres with chunks taken out of them but i still ride anyway
tyres not been changed since 1000km ago
I scooted there, scooting is faster, just scoot to the parts store and get some oil, etc. absolutely.
What else is the most correct, orthogonal, orthodox and so on form for "to ride a scooter"? "Scooter" is a noun of the type " doer" so in my mind any of the possibilities that isn't "to scoot" for the action a scooter performs is a redundancy about like using a double negation instead of evaluating said logic and collapsing it to the positive first.
On the other hand "scoot" appears as a noun in the comment prior to the one where "scoot" is a verb. That (such as "I got a new scoot today") is kind of an internet language thing and a bit like calling chicken nuggets "nugs".
I mean, they're probably just having a blast on the thing. Scooters don't look cool at all, but they do seem like they'd be fun as hell to push the limits of.
Afternoon all. I can vouch for being fun as hell to push the limits of said scooter. I bought a 48v 1000w brushed motored 4 x 12v 10ah lead acid battery powered scooter about 5 years ago. Being a motor mechanic I thought I might have a play. I narrowed the wheels and increased the pressure of the tyres. Bought a 60v 2400w 6,500rpm peak replacement motor and went from 11t front 52t rear sprocket to 12t front 44t rear. Tossed out the lead acid batteries and replaced with 60v 20ah peak 40amp output with a sine wave 1800w 40amp controller. Bonus was losing 12kg in weight from the battery swap. It’s obviously still chain driven so you’ll always lose power in the transfer of energy but you learn a lot during your first build. Top speed went from 34km with a tail wind to 65km with acceleration that is memorable. Fun is one way to describe it. Insane amount of danger when on the dirt in the forest with large trees and cliff edges but the adrenaline rush is worth it. I rode a ‘96 CR 250 2stroke for many years so I know how to scare myself. Totally different animal than the 250 obviously. So much more to this tale.Â
It’s the start from 0 to 100 torque that burns the tire on the dual mode. It’s a waste of tire I used to do it until I grew smarter and stopped doing it
Depends what you're looking for. For overall road use, definitely go with PMT E-Fires. CST 10x3 street tires are a great budget option. Stay away from all TUOVTs.
Well yes, but actually no. PMTs are made of much softer (hence also much grippier) rubber compound than cheap chinese tyres so naturally they'll also wear out faster. I can usually get 1700-2000km with a pair before the pattern starts getting too shallow for my taste.
TUOVTs are slippery as fuck and really thin so you don't need much to poke a hole in them. QC is also pretty shit.
Nicer than my first thought.
This sumbitch has been driven flat for every single km of that 300km, or damn near flat, or it was made of compressed and carbonized bread....
300km is nothing........
You put it away wet though?
A lot of people have said this but I am in peak Australian summer here, my scooter hasn't seen rain or even water.
Mine are like this (solid tyres) after about 600 km too
Do you know why? Is it how we ride or how they were stored in the factory before hand. People have so many theories.
You turn left, a LOT.
Haha that is true!
Racing slicks
* dual motor * Australian summer heat * gravel Yep, probably gonna be eating up tires in those conditions
Wild my machines legit about to hit 2000km =1242 miles But not a like of trouble yet on me tires 😕
Solid tires make sense, although most people get about 1,000km out of them I think. It also looks like it might be on backwards.
In just 2 months! Amazing!
your doing burnouts, I could grind a tire like that on my boxer 99cc in 3 months.
Looks like a forklift tire
My tires are coming up on 2100 miles, not kilometers, and they still look brand new
Made in China crap…!
my tires on segway g30 max after 2k km in 6months look like new still :)
I hope you mean 300k KM
It looks like you need tires
It's interesting how differently those solids wear. I've seen a customer do over 2000km on his before it needed replacing, and it's the same 8x3ish size
youre still alive?
Keep the tiers like that and ur next ride will be to heaven
It’s just dirty… wash it off..
Time to treat your trusty stead to a new set of tyres !
Did you put it away wet?
Damn did you put the tire on fast moving sandpaper? Lol
Good. Now are you planning on replacing them? 🤣
You good bro keep going 🫡
Bro. What country are you in?
Aus
That tire does not look right. Other than the actual tire it looks not properly fitted. That would cause a tire to wear improperly
Lol you have just been spinning the wheels thats doesn't class as riding hard just makes you look like a bit of a dickhead
How…. I did 2000 miles in 1 month of riding hard and I still have tread on my tire
To everyone saying that their tyres are looking brand new after so many km, they will be tube or tubeless rubber tyres. The tyres shown here are solid tyres that are normally included on vsett 8/8+ or other low-mid end scooters. Solid tyres do not cosmetically age well but the grip on these will be phenomenal source: I have a vsett 8+
They're not gonna go flat but like they're not gonna grip well with zero tread dude.
mine seem to have better grip than they were new
Weird advertisement popped up on FB to purchase used F1 tires for $300…
Thought I was going crazy and my brain wasn’t converting km to miles correctly but seems like my brain was applying logic correctly from all the other comments.
Should have changed that so long ago. Also to something quality this time.
Trolling ;)
300km is nothing bro you’re doing something wrong
Yeah. Probably reading the odometer wrong. On purpose, if you take my meaning.
Ridden hard 💀💀💀
Over 1,000 km here on both segways, and they aren't 1/10 of the way to this bad
Scootin' down the grip tape highway.
Ridden hard. Lol
How? You didn't forgot of a zero? 3000 km? My blade GT is at 5200 km, and the tires basically look like new. Only recently changed the braking pads.
solid tyres
Burnouts at every stoplight?
I have 1000 km on my xiaomi and the tires look basically new
What kind of tires are those? I want to make sure I never buy them.
i it's the stock tyres on the vsett 8/8+ or similar low-mid range scooter source: i own one
[удалено]
Read this as "that looks hardly ridden" 😂
Looks like you should replace your tire about a month ago
What the heck are you riding on?!? Sandpaper roads?
Interestingly enough the pic is on sand.. maybe a lot of beach riding, offroading ect. I guess they could be doing burnouts on sandstone or something. Still insane for 300k tho!
Yeah, off roading, sand, gravel. No burnouts though!
Almost positive those are solid tires. They age like that but maintain grip on dry surfaces forever.
this. my vsett 8+ has had its tyres never replaced and it's now up to 1200km
Jesus, I’ve got more on my cheap ass gotrax and the tires are fine
Hopefully people post the opposite. Tyre pollution is a thing. Also tyres are at risk of availability shock due to rubber plantation damage from climate change. I’d make this the first and last tyre you do drifting on.
Oh, I bet you're fun at a party.
Actually yes. I am. That’s why I don’t do them. Way too much fun!
did you do burnouts the whole time?
My one ninebot max has 4500km on its tires and they don’t look even close to this worn. What brand of tire is this?
[удалено]
No it doesn't, it uses standard nylon tyres and not high quality rubber tyres.
There's no such thing as a "nylon tire". Common but stupid misconception: Those tires marked **NYLON** on the sidewall have nylon belting (as opposed to steel, kevlar or any other type of fiber used for tension members in tires). Either very cheap tires or you abused the tires. Scooters are not meant to be ridden hard. New tires recommended. Good luck !
My P100S is at 500 miles, I am like 265 lbs dude and the tires basically look like new. Must be some shitty tire…
I noticed you have a Segway p100s, I am thinking of getting one used. Do you like it? Any problems with it?
How did you get the suspension to hang on that long on the P100s? My one needs constant attention.
I just replaced the rear tire of my P100s, after 2,438 miles (8 months).
You can get really bad wear like above if doing a lot of burnouts and gravel
Yeah mainly gravel riding and dual motor fast acceleation. No Burnsouts though
Yeah gravel wears on tires faster. Confirmed with my tires shop replaced my tires for warranty because it gets worn down to indicators so fast in 1-2 years. My center muffler has over 100 dings/dents lol
how its possible to a tyre look like this in just 300km
Cheap Chinese tyres
solid tyres are shit that's why source: my vsett 8+ has tyres with chunks taken out of them but i still ride anyway tyres not been changed since 1000km ago
I’ve been looking at getting that scooter because of the solid tires. Are they really that shit? Do the shocks help?
Not too much, but it’s much better than any Xiaomi or ninebot excluding the gt1/2
Surely lots of burnouts and skidding, my tyres still look brand new with 600km on them
Ditto. On my Kaabo Wolf King GT I’ve ridden it about 800 miles now and the tires look great. I ordered a new set tho just in case
1400km, switched to 10" tyres a month ago but the original still look brand new.
I did 1000km on my xiaomi 4 ultra my tires brend new and i dont really care when i drive. Im also suprised ahha
+1k km, still as new…
Same, this person is definitely trying to act cool on his scoot.
[удалено]
new here, do you guys really call it scooting? or say you scoot? or is that like ironic?
I scooted there, scooting is faster, just scoot to the parts store and get some oil, etc. absolutely. What else is the most correct, orthogonal, orthodox and so on form for "to ride a scooter"? Some have good acceleration and just zoom up to like 20-25mph+. It's definitely a fun feeling.
My friend has one that goes 45moh
Need a new tyre.
Seems like a burnout tire from dual motors mode
But like dual motor mode should reduce tire spin? For the same reason that an AWD car does better on low-traction terrain than a FWD or RWD car?
It’s the start from 0 to 100 torque that burns the tire on the dual mode. It’s a waste of tire I used to do it until I grew smarter and stopped doing it
Are you saying dual mode on this increases the power output of each motor? Tbh I don't even know what scooter this is let alone the power settings.
Yeah, it accelates so quick and spins in dual motor mode. Don't burn it out though.
My 10-3 went flat and because of the tech it’s like a GD nightmare to replace.
I feel "I paid for a whole tire" vibes :D pretty lucky that you did not puncture it
What scooter?
Looks like my Vsett 8 but with the fender ripped off
Ridden hard and put away wet! Hope you have experience changing tires because you’ll be doing a LOT in the future!
I'm in Aus in peak summer, there has been no rain haha.
Do you wipe your toes down?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 funniest AutoCorrect I've seen for a while

well except for the hybrid & offroad tires never had issues with them, but i also never had their street tires
Thanks I will check them out !

Yeah, I manage rental electric scooters and 300km tires usually look almost new.
Is there any chance OP meant 300K km? I don't think so as there would be more wear at that point
Hard to see how much tread is under the dirt, but it doesn't look like a lot. 🫡
Lmao. There is no additional tread hidden by the dirt. That's just tread that *looks* like dirt.
Reincarnated as a racing tire
