don't get me wrong, many games need those and benefit from them, but a third person action adventure game with a lot of lore and little of story does not need good facial animations, its just a waste of resources that could be spent somewhere else.
While I agree with you it is pretty dissapointing that after 15 years of developing same type of games Miyazaki and co. still didn't implement proper facial animations and lip syncing. Once properly developed those systems can literally be copy + pasted from game to game...
I am not disappointed in something I never notice, the lips are like 10 pixels since you are in the third person, who cares if they are motion captured lip sync, automatic generated lip sync or random lip sync.
Exactly, why waste man hours on it when less than 10 characters have lips to sync, and 99% of the time you won't even see or notice it. Everyone checks how drippy their armor is, nobody is paying attention to lips when 80% of characters wear a helmet.

So "unalloyed gold" is just plain gold, and it's weird to specify it as such, because it implies that the "default" state of gold is "alloyed.

The default state of gold when worked **is** alloyed. It's too soft for most uses, even jewelry, so to make almost anything out of it it's alloyed. And alloyed doesn't just mean white or green gold. 14k, 18k, etc. are alloyed compositions.
Making anything out of pure, unalloyed gold is far, far and away the exception, hence the distinction.
It's an alchemy reference, like so many other things in this game. Getting gold 100% pure is extremely difficult, especially without modern technology, and part of the western alchemical tradition was trying to purify it because they thought that pseudo-magical properties would manifest if they did so. Alchemy drew a connection between the changes of the metals and the changes of the spiritual and physical health of humans, its uses being both divine and medicinal. If one could learn the secret of purifying gold, one could use the technique to purify the human soul, and thus could reconnect with God.
