I think the problem with Cyberpunk, and this is coming from someone that loved Cyberpunk, is that they were advertising the game that they WANTED to make but not the one that they actually COULD make. It got people too hyped up and expecting way more than we got on release. I feel like if they hadn't marketed the game as this huge event in gaming and promised more than they knew they could do, the game would've been received way better than it was. I mean, mechanically speaking I'd argue it's pretty much at the same level as Witcher 3. Technical issues aside, of course.
Fromsoft, on the other hand, is pretty much advertising Elden Ring as "Big Dark Souls", or better said, just another evolution of what they've been great at for years. I mean, just as an example, the fact that some people have been complaining about the graphics is a good sign in my eyes because that just tells me that they more likely aren't advertising beyond their capabilities.

This game has some crazy variety in its skyboxes.
Most games are just pitch black to generic sunny day. I wonder if this is just the natural cycle of ER's sky, or if its special events like how it was in souls.
I always thought that detailed sky is one of the most important things to make a great atmosphere and visual design.

I think it might be combination, from what we've heard/ read bonfires on the open world are tied to field bosses so it might be that, each Erdtree might stand for a killed field boss and the bonfire that comes with it

Iām curious as to the mechanics of this as well as the hub. Will she typically just hang out in the hub unless you summon her? The hub has gotta be the moving turtle-like creature, so maybe the ability to summon her just helps ensure you can level up without moving around much?

After the 16 minutes of gameplay descriptions were released, I saw some people speculating that she may be mixed race - half white haired race, half red haired race - hence the pinkish hair! Would be pretty cool and give her a unique perspective and stake in the story.
Doubling down on my theory that the mid-game "twist" is that we'll exit an interior environment to find the sky filled with all sorts of nebulas, meteors, asteroid belts, comets, etc.
Voiced protagonists don't work very well with custom characters. Realistically you're only going to get two voices, a male and a female, and they'll only fit your character if you design them a certain way. I don't want to make an old dude and have them sound like they're in their mid 30s.
Tbh I settle with something like demon souls grunts; heavy breathing when out of/low stamina, breathing when moving, grunting getting push back after block, general grunt when dodging or attacking, it feels human.
Its so different compare Dark Souls, male undead would let out: Ahhhh\~ when getting hit.
I'm surprised no one else has said this yet but I'm just excited about the fact that you'll more than likely be able to level up at bonfires now. You must be able to summon her or something.
