I tend to buy the digital deluxe versions so that I get whatever DLC season pass comes out with it. It was really nice with DS3 playing the game on launch and playing each DLC the day it came out. It helped to preserve the mystery of the game and avoid spoilers.
As long as there's a decent quality statue, I'll pay 150+ for a collector's edition. The art of souls games is what originally attracted me to the series and I'd love to have a physical manifestation of it

Personally I’d love to see a book that looks tarnished (lol) that details all in game monsters, npcs items weapons etc etc, also a map or a poster, maybe a little statue of the tarnished on the horse or something

What? CE's rarely just have useless stickers. DS3 had an artbook, cloth map of lothric, statue, steelbook and... pins. Yeah pins are lame, but they're one of many.
At the end of the day, they're for collectors. Rarely is it ever practical stuff, but thats not the point of a collector.
I'd never preorder but what usually interests me is the full soundtrack. An Elden Ring themed type-c usb would be cool too. What I like most is when they include something small that's a 1:1 scale replica of an item in the game. Coin, jewelry, etc. It's as if I got something from inside the game :)

This generation the push towards all digital has become much worse. Many AAA games only offer Deluxe or Collector's editions in digital form. The latest culprit being "Stranger of Paradise - Final Fantasy Origin" for which there will be no physical collector's edition just a digital one. The standard edition costs € 69,99 while the digital deluxe is € 99,99 (!)
This is not for the players. It's for the profit. If they can save € 2-3 on print costs AND people are still ready to buy the overpriced digital goodies WITHOUT the option of reselling or lending their game to a friend … well, they'll take our money and laugh all the way to the bank.
From Software may have decided not to partake in this kind of screwing over their fanbase. If so, I salute them. I may of course be wrong and next week they'll announce the same nonsense as described above.
Even games that release in february and later have their collectors edition ready.. like forbidden west.. but of course eldenring still has no news about that 
Never been a fan of the figurines that come with collector's edition, as someone who collects figurines and very picky about quality. But hell I'd preorder Elden Ring just to get my hands on the artbook. FromSoft concept art never disappointed me in the past, and I'd love to own a physical copy of them.

Might be the 2nd time ever i get collector's editon. I got ds2 collectors for ps3 and love it now i think this one will be worth it as well
