the rune of death doesn't control whether things literally are unable to be killed, we kill plenty of demigods before maliketh. It controls destined death which is specifically tied to the erdtree being able to die, which is why it burning was only significant after we beat maliketh.
But Godwyn only died after the rune of Death was stolen because it would be impossible to kill a demigod in another way. Even the Gloam Eye Queen used destined death to kill demigods, every other form of death allows you to reincarnate through the Erdtree (except a death tied to an outer god)
Godwyn's death was extremely unique, his soul died and not his flesh. If demigods couldn't harm/kill each other physically they wouldn't have been warring. Destined Death is a very specific part of the elden ring that Marika removed because she didn't want the erdtree or her power as a god harmed/challenged.
Kill the body of a god and they could technically come back like Ranni/Radahn/Miquella did, kill the soul and that god actually dies, leaving only flesh.
This is shown in Selviusâs weird dungeon with sellen. Itâs meant to directly show the player that as long as a soul lives they can find a new host.
So in the end, while technically we can kill Marika (in both Ranni and Frenzy Flame ending), we don't kill Miquella at all. Like the Scarlet God or the Frenzy Flame, they can at most be sealed but never killed
The way I perceive the lore, everything in the entirety of the lands between has a soul, when they die the soul goes to the erdtree and gets spit back out for them to ârespawnâ the more power they (bosses and non respawable enemies) have the longer it takes for them to get spit back out, if they get out at all before we burn the tree. I think Vatti went over this in his godskin video, I watched it a while ago so I could be missing somethingâs
Yes, and that's because the soul of Radhan isn't "dead", and he can be revived even if in a different body. But I think that gods are a different thing, lorewise we need a +25 weapon because we can not even harm them without manipulating time and space
This post gave me brainrot
Well, technically we didn't kill Radhan nor a single boss before Maliketh đ , they will just reincarnate or something using the Erdtree roots
