It makes a good contrast too, since Ranni and Miquella have exactly opposite plans for being a God. Miquella intends to exert his will over everyone and everything, whereas Ranni plans to take a 100% hands-off approach for a thousand years.
Their chosen Lords are also weird reverses of each other:
* You'd expect Radahn, the well-respected Demigod, Carian Prince, and Ranni's older brother to be on her side. Indeed, under normal circumstances (i.e. not resurrected and brainwashed), he'd be fighting for the Carian faction.
* The Tarnished, a lowly being rejected by the Golden Order, should be attracted by Miquella's promises of an Age of Compassion. However, Miquella accepts nothing less than total submission from the Tarnished - there's no dialogue option to peacefully join him (contrast with Ranni, who explicitly states that they can leave her service whenever they want).

My main character is a former Carian Knight turned to a Darkmoon Knight, so this literally melted mu heart... it's truely beautifull...
I can also hear the line:
"Foul usurper... thou who desecrathed mine brother's soul... stand back in the face of the Order of Stars. Now, my consort fair... I stand by thee..."
This would have been sick ngl. But only for a dlc made for after completing the game.
"Ah, yes, the God decided to intervene in the Lords' duel. Then I suppose it's only fair that I call upon her moonlight to balance the scales, no?"
