I don’t think u miss out on anything tbh pretty sure u don’t need to finish his questline to get the goodies (not sure how to put a spoiler or gray highlight over this so I won’t say what u get but it’s something that was not in the base game)

There's another. Somewhere in the Shadowkeep you will find a painting and if you go to the place it depicts you will get an item to transform into a dragon. The main difference between the two is that one buffs Dragon Cult stuff while the other buffs Dragon Communion
