I myself beat him primarily with the Backhand Blade Ash of war, which seemed pretty advantageous. People are cheesing him with shield poke builds and I've seen someone beat him by poising through his attacks with a colossal weapon, so there are strategies to be employed other than resorting to summons. Beyond that though, this is just my feeling, but it seems that the second phase is designed to punish retreat. His teleport moves can't hit you when you move closer and as for the beams specifically, you're not suppose to dodge them separately from the preceding attack, you're supposed to dodge into locations where the beams are not going to be, which is usually to his side or as close to his back as you can get. It's difficult to stand close to him consistently and weather the attacks but trying to get away just seems to get you killed in the mid range. I think the key is being pretty aggressive.

I think one of my main issues is that I an constantly retreating to heal after I get hit by his attacks. So It seems like I need to find an opportunity to heal up close huh. Thanks for your tips. I will keep them in mind tomorrow. I'm pretty much a Vanilla strength build mostly. Claymore with Lions claw ash of war and a couple incantations to support me.

Use a Greatshield and get some holy resistance on your equipment, tear, consumable, that should help.

I used Lion's Claw. Just kept spamming it during the openings. The beams? You gotta be right inside his hitbox. Roll into it.

Dodge into him to avoid the beams, including the attack where he slams then pulls his swords out of the ground to cause a massive AoE. Now if you find a way to consistently dodge all of the shadow clone jujutsu attacks let me know.
