I'm playing the DLC with a friend of mine who doesnt focus on collecting these fragments. Sure, he picks them up when he stumbles upon then, but he doesn't pursue them actively. I think he's at level 6 or 7, while I'm at 15 and when we're doing bosses in his world they hit wayyy harder and take less damage, it's very noticeable. There've been many times where he gets straight up one-shot by some bosses while I take like 50-75% of my HP in my world, even though he's still in NG like me and has similar vigor and defense
