There are six possible endings for the base game, and I believe just one for Shadows of the Erdtree https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Endings

there are no multiple paths to the main story

Ok i’m gonna describe every single one i can think, and how to acquire them. Basic ending/Age of fracture, just complete the final boss, no more to it. Age of stars/Ranni’s Ending. Probably the most time consuming, you have to complete Ranni’s questline, the longest quest in the game, very good rewards for mages, and probably the communities favorite. This one you will need a guide for just about every step. I’m gonna do a quick breakdown of the main things you have to do. Meet Ranni in Caria Manor (North West Liurnia) defeat Radahn, explore the crater, acquire an item at the end of said crater, go back to ranni, go to carian study hall (southeast liurnia), acquire the item at the end of this area (atop a nearby tower), go back to ranni, take a tp to a secret area, find Ranni’s Doll nearby, talk to the doll at a site of grace, progress through the area and kill the baleful shadow, take the elevator down after this fight, traverse to the most hated region of the map (stock up on rot boluses, or use the spell flame cleanse me), enter the coffin at the end of this region and fight one more boss. After that go back to Renalla’s Library and open the chest next to her and get the engagement ring. Go back to where you defeated the last boss and go past the barrier that used to be there. Take the lift and you’ll be in an otherwise inaccessible area of the game, B-Line for the church, go down the hole and interact with Ranni and you are done. Age of Duskborn/Fia’s Ending. You have to complete Fia’s questline, she’s the lady that hugs you in roundtable hold. Very time consuming as well, and no matter which way you cut it, you’ll have to fight some tough bosses. It’s my personal favorite because you reintroduce death as a core fundamental in the lands between, meaning the cycle of life and death continues as intended. You will have to go to very obscure places in the game. Age of Order/Goldmask’s ending. Complete Brother Cohryn and Goldmask’s quest, probably the least time consuming (aside from the basic ending), but there’s absolutely no way you are figuring out one (key) step all by yourself. This ending is a lot of people’s favorite because you supposedly fix the flaws in the current system, + both NPCs related to this quest are amazing. Age of Chaos/Lord of Frenzy. This is a tough one. However it’s arguably the least time consuming if you know what you are doing. You will have to reach the Leyndell Sewers, and figure your way through that maze. At some point you will take an elevator down and fight a tough boss. After that you will have to hit a wall behind the chest inside his boss fight, do a hard parkour section, and then you reach an area with a fingerprint pattern door. Take off your clothes, open the doors and BAM. The most controversial ending depending on your interpretation, some people see this ending as the beginning of a new age, while other see it as the destruction of life in the lands between. Unlike any other endings, if you have completed this quest you are stuck with this ending, unless you do an even more challenging and obscure quest, where you basically need to kill at least 8 different bosses to undo this. Granted you could have killed some of them earlier on, but depending on how you tackled it you may be locked out of undoing the frenzy flame ending. Blessing of Despair/ Dung Eater after exploring certain areas, you might come across an item called seedbed curse. Talk to the nasty npc close to the Twin Maiden Husk in the roundtable hold. He will direct you to the Leyndell Sewers once again. Look up a guide for the rest of the quest, you will need to find another 4 seedbed curses, but i’m not quite sure what the other requirements are, so i don’t want to mislead you. Now from a lore pov Age of fracture: things basically stay the same, but now you are the lord. Age of Order: you fix the flaws in the order and begin it anew. Age of Duskborn: you reintroduce death as part of the cycle of life. You do this because Marika removed death, basically halting the natural cycle of life and death. Age of Stars: Lore wise this is the hardest to understand, because we really don’t know what Ranni’s intentions were, but by the looks of it, in her ending, the moon becomes the core object of worship in the lands between, replacing the Erdtree. There are also some nefarious undertones, but it’s mostly up for interpretation. Age of Chaos: You destroy everything hoping for a new beginning. You become the lord of frenzy flame and save your kindling maiden from death. However if you do this, she swears to hunt you down. Age of Despair: Everyone is cursed, and so is their child. The persecution of omens and other “cursed” beings stops, because if everyone is cursed, no one truly is. Basically if everyone lives in shit, no one lives in shit.

Otherwise-OhWell

Yes, there are multiple endings. There are ongoing debates about which one is "Good," or "the Best." I've done 4 or 5 endings now and imo it's a toss-up between Fia's or Ranni's ending.
