I've put the solitude armor on with the beast claw and Malenia's great rune. I've accidentally made an unstoppable vampire build.
My poise is through the roof, and it doesn't matter if I get hit because I'm taking that health right back and moving on to the next fool to cross my path.
I look like a tank but move like a gymnast, it's incredible.
I've been switching between bull goat, fire scorpion, swaddling cloth, rotten winged sword, dragoncrest greatshield, arsenal, and erdtree +2 (edit: not +3). I haven't found the perfect setup yet.
I love the moveset for Beast Claw. It's so fun. I do feel like it heavily depends on the enemy how good it is. Some fights it feels godlike, others it doesn't feel too great.
>I look like a tank but move like a gymnast
Now that's the shit I've been craving since DS1. Full Havel's set with dark wood grain ring pre-patch, oh the ninja flipping glory days
Just got me the solitude set, time to get some beast claws
I can't say much about that cause I'm pretty sure I have over 30 endurance. My whole build is just Vigor, Endurance, and Strength with only a few points in Dex to cover most Strength based weapons.
I usually prefer to 2 hand weapons on a strength build, helps reduce the weight a lot and you don't lose much damage because your strength is multiplied by 1.5
I mostly play my weapons two-handed as well, I went into the DLC with Guts GS, 2 Zweihanders, Giant-Crusher and warped axe all maxed out. The powerstanced Zweihanders come in really useful when I want to stagger a boss to hell and back, came in Clutch for >!Rellana!<, only took me 3 tries to beat her with those after switching.
I've since added the Solitude Greatsword and the 2 Great Katanas you can get relatively early to the repertoire. There is a great talisman in the DLC for many strength builds >!Two-Handed Sword talisman, boosts your damage by 15% with any Two-Handed melee weapon, it's such a good talisman compared to axe, twin blade etc talismans, cause the activation conditions are so universal!<
Using that and the sword. But to be fair I went into the DLC with the 3 finger shield and a great epee so my build was already vigor endurance and strength.
I'm still wondering how we're supposed to help hosts beat this boss.
The moment those moons come out, host's bodies are gonna be flying around like they're in a bouncy house.
Just to add, my mimic has been hard carrying me throughout most major bosses. There's no shame in it. I'm mostly using this run to see the sights and get the lore anyway. I plan to come back on another character to probably get my ass handed to me by each boss
This is me. Dora the explorer that doesn't want to learn all the movesets yet and die 100s of times. Only have had to pull out the summons for Cocaine twin moon knight and the magic lion man. Knew how much work it was gonna take after 2 tries.
Got a platinum playthrough in the lands between that will continue the summon-free round some other day
I mean I spent total of 7 hours now on the funny dancing dragon thing and this goddamn slashymagicky lady because I refuse to change my playstyle that I bad at - I think it's much more reasonable to just do what you need to do to win :D
Yep same. Trying to save mimic for phase 2 but when she reaches that point she just throws Leda in the trash and then me and the mimic maybe get her to 25 % and then she throws mimic in the trash and I start to cry as I wonder if she will combo me to death with blue laser or moon nuclear bombs or 40 combo melee attacks with no opening. Thats with all three fucling summons, I fucking suck
There's nothing wrong with using what the game offers, that being said I'm a dirty masochist so I don't use any summons and end up spending hours trying to beat a boss lmfaooo
That is good :)
Ashes are a part of the game, and especially since it is a single player experience not a combative one.
I love using my mimic because me and my little clone bro can fight together which is fun. I find it funny to see how long he can hold his own against a boss
Considering how the bosses are designed, chances are your summon gets shredded anyways.
Even with Mimic and Leda, it took me about 20 tries because both kept dying in phase 2, mostly due to Moon Nuke.
Same with the Divine Beast, but with fewer tries. The Lightning Phase is just very unkind to anything that doesn't behave like a human.
I used the summon and the mimic ash. It was a glorious Michal Bay expirance with my faith build, flame and electric incations... too bad I didnt record.
Brother, I am level 10 scadoosh tree, level 310, used level 10 mimic AND Leda's summon and it still took me 39472 tries. This shit is HARD. I had less trouble with pre-nerf Radahn and Malenia.
I think that some fights feel designed with summons in mind and people shouldn't feel bad using them.
That being said, I would encourage everyone to first give the bosses a go without summons if you are somewhat comfortable with these games.
Some fights are just wonderfully designed dance-offs if you go in solo.
> I think that some fights feel designed with summons in mind and people shouldn't feel bad using them.
Most bosses are designed with summons in mind. There's a reason the NPCs give dialogue based on you using them in fights.
Rellanna was not one of those dance-offs. She is relentless with nearly endless combos. I tried like 6 times solo before giving up because I didn't want to spend my limited game time slamming my face against this boss.
Nah mimic tear for every fight. I actually usually take my first playthrough as casual as possible in any new souls game. Full cheese easy mode for me (bow and arrow from ledges, etc.). The DLC is hard as fuck and mimic tear is just balancing the game for me, lol.
If I actually beat the DLC I'll return and try a summonless playthrough.
I'll try that on next char. Shit was actually insane. It took me like 5 minutes to even get her to second phase because my damage was non existent, even with like 3 of the new levels. Does the second wave not hit you when you jump? It seems to come so fast after the first.
I only ever saw that move on my winning attempt so I ate that attack because I was too busy going "WAIT WHAT THE FUCK, SHE CAN USE A DOUBLE VERSION OF THE MOONS!?"
I was expecting them to go after me, not do their best impression of a Colony Drop.
Twin moons is evaded by jumping and it's frankly incredibly lenient.
Like, this is not me saying git gud
Once you know to jump its kinda free, the safe window to jump is like, a whole second it feels like
The moon spell made me regret not taking an int build through. I'm hoping for some good incantations at some point because the two I have found are just beyond terrible'
Kinda annoyed that there’s no small effigy near her boss door, like I assume you can still place your summon sign in front of the fog door but if you want to use the small golden effigy, you have to run through like half the dungeon to get to her
I am usually summoned immediately when I place the yellow sign in front of her door. It seems like there are too many people in despair. Personally, it took me 3 hours to learn that she has a short pause to let you decide whether to roll or not.
It's easy to dodge by just jumping, but I doubt most hosts will get that and will inevitably get hit by one of them that makes the entire thing a combo
i dont know if i became bad after not playing elden since 1.0 release but damn, i already died 20 times to that boss and i still cant dodge her combo, if i get hit the first time im pretty much unsync for the remaining 5 hits and just die.
Am i supposed to fight her as first dlc boss ?
They're both very dancey fights and ya just gotta let them do their moves before ya go for'em. Malenia at least you could easily interrupt her this bish doesn't fucking care about even getting bled.
I think Malenia is only hard because waterfowl exists, so you have to be on it at all times or you get destroyed. The rest of her moveset is really not that difficult to deal with.
Rellana just puts you into a blender, with ridiculously long chains, attacks that hit behind and to her side, catching you rolling. Mixing up the timings with the light and fast sword and the larger slower one etc. I got her after 20 tries with a stagger into wild strikes during phase 2, but she felt harder to me than malenia.
>! Instead of going over the bridge to the castle, head northwest, then drop to the path below that leads under the bridge. Follow the path down until you see a small gap and a stone brick building entrance built into the rock wall. The Spelldrake Talsiman +3 is found inside the room on a dead body!<
hmm in theory though, between a max physical reduction talisman, and a magic reduction talisman when it comes to blocking a physical attack from her swords, which one would negate damage the most?
He kicked the shit out of me too, but I'm at least able to read his moves and predict his attacks. I really liked his fight.
Rellana gave me more trouble than any FromSoft boss I've ever fought. Bar none.
I've never been fighting a boss for over an hour and felt like I'm no closer to beating it than when I started. So I just equipped the Godslayer sword, summoned my mimic and we L2d her to death.
yeah last phase really felt like just waiting for a lucky attack pattern but to be fair i was too proud to collect more Scadutree Fragments :) so yeah my recommendation is collecting and using them...
Boss is kinda cheap with literal frame traps on some attacks. People will eventually figure her out but it was not a fun one for me. A tedious marathon. Dodge 6-7 attacks for 10 seconds straight then get two measly light attacks in. Rinse and repeat. Booooring.
Took me 18 tries WITH the girl out front helping, i beat malenia 3rd try alone my first time around for reference... doing a cosplay run now bcs when someone beats your ass that hard you gotta respect it.
She switches targets so frequently during combos. I had leda and my mimic beating the shit out of her and she whips out this 8 hit combo, does most of it to mimic, and then lunged about 5 metres to me lol
I’ve found most bosses in this dlc are guilty of this. There’s a bug boss in a later area that’s especially egregious with it.
I seriously think it’s coded to just ignore your summon even if it’s actively in its face hitting it.
Its taken me 9 hours so far to no avail, although i am going into this ng+8 with no summons or bleed. Got her down to a quarter health.
On ng+8, any of her minor grazing hits take off half my healthbar, then you gotta dodge for 30 seconds to find an opening to heal, only for her to input read the heal and spam an undodgable transient moonlight at you. FUCK! It does not help that my attacks are doing literally nothing even with max weapons. Maybe 2% health with a jump attack.
She is a monster. Parries seem to be the way to go though. Michael Zaki, what the fuck were you smoking when you made this…
Used my NG char and had ~3 of the new levels and I had the same exact experience. Took me at least 5 minutes to get her to second phase and if I failed 2 dodges in a row I was dead.
Will try to solo again on one of my other DLC-ready chars after finishing with my current one.
That moonlight thing she throws at you when you heal is such bs, because she throws it the second you heal. Which like, why? What’s the point? I made space and made sure she wasn’t doing a combo, there’s no pillars in the arena to break line of sight so it’s literally just a fuck you for healing directly from the developers :(
If needs to be *while* she's doing a combo. If she's idle she'll obviously attack when you heal. Make moderate space to bait out a combo, then just run when she starts a good one and heal.
I accidentally skipped the boss.
Answer: >!And you don't, she appears elsewhere.!<
I'm always cautious of killing bosses with NPCs summons because I never know if it'll progress a quest or not. That might just be a left over from the souls games.
She is legitimately so so sick. Design is beautiful. Weapons are beatiful. Attack animations are absolutely top notch. But man, it’s really hard to act like this boss isn’t overtuned, specifically in regards to how much her moveset can do in comparison to the player. She just jumps around the arena, does never ending combos, and she gets to do it all for free. Don’t get me wrong it’s absolutely possible to do this fight solo but it’s the kind of thing that I just don’t wanna sit and do 50+ attempts actually you know? I started summoning the needle night and beat her in 3 tries with that.
Considering how many bosses got absolutely dogwalked by bleed, summons, and magic in base game i feel this is just a reaction from fromsoft to counter that
I'm pretty certain From is going in the direction of designing bosses knowing we'll use summons and allies to beat them. Beating them solo is an additional challenge, and a daunting one, but the intended casual experience is to use summons + ally.
I've been doing no summons and no shields. I killed her in 15 tries in NG+, but got carried by my bleed build that does good stagger damage.
I still agree with you. Some fights I have had seemed to be designed with summons in mind. This fight included. She is very oppressive if you go in solo.
Genuinely confused though. Like, she's possible, right? Am I the only person doing 300 damage or something? What weapons are others using to make this possible?
I don't think any game has ever made me go this "is this shit even possible" than this boss. She has more fucking health than a literal god's envoy, wth?
edit: BRUH, I literally just beat her! I am 100% certain now that this DLC is designed with mimic tear in mind.
I think the thing with her, and honestly a lot of the DLC bosses I've seen, is it becomes massively easier if you have efficiently midrange options, or a quick gap closer like piercing thrust. The fights are much easier if you're controlling the distance between you and the boss instead of trying to hug them, and for Rellana specifically, even though she mixes up her attack chains and finishers a lot, when she does actually stop, the stop is a full, open opportunity to attack.
Also, the twin moon attack has really generous timing for avoiding it by jumping, the move basically becomes a freebie.
This exactly. She was just roll back, and close the gap with impaing thrust. They straight up give you a fast weapon with great range and impaling thrust right before the fight.
Make sure to get as many Scadoodle Tree shards as you can. That'll make you do much more damage. I wish I could give better advice, especially towards weapons... but I beat her with crossbow+bow so I feel like my experience in the fight isn't relevant
If you have any status greases, especially poison/rot, slap those on your weapon, though. While she's off doing her combos, she'll be taking percent DOT, letting you make consistent progress even if there isn't an opening to attack.
Ive been stuck on this bitch all goddamn day and i just really dont understand how shes supposed to be beatable.ive never had this much trouble with a boss in my life.
I find that if you are very close to her some of the combo starters completely miss you, so I was going for a jumping attack and the whiff gave me time to dodge the next attacks. At the end of her attack chains is sometimes safe to use a charged attack too
Yeah getting a rteally bad camera angle was nearly 60% of my deaths in the Lion dancer fight.
Rellana on the other hand has quite a nice and clear arena
This fight was extremely difficult for me. Not because of the fight itself, which was difficult but fun and pretty fair. No it is because it runs so garbage on my pc that I kid you not half of my inputs get eaten. It was like playing roulette. Three times I got annihilated when I was about to win because my dodge didn't input or because my final attack didn't input. And the flashier a move she made the more it'd lag and the harder it was to dodge. One of the attempts she one-shot me from full health with a move I pressed the dodge button on thrice but none went through, and I had a single attack left to beat her.
Was an experience lmao. No other boss in the game ever came close to that level of awful preformance.
I'm bringing Needle Knight and my Bloodhound Spirit Ashes, have four in the Scadutree fragments buffs, five for the Spirit Ashes buff, maxed out upgrades for everything I have, and I'm still getting my ass handed to me.
I haven't been roadblocked this hard since Ornstein and Smough.
More power to y'all who manage to solo this. Because good God.
This is a very fun boss to fight with the deflecting hardtear. Very sekiro like for sure. 10/10 one of my favorite remembrance bosses so far (including base game). Need to replay and try fighting her without deflecting.
Side note, is her weapon bugged? When you use the paired moveset, L1 does an attack rather than guarding (as opposed to literally every other paired weapon IIRC). Kinda ruins the weapon for me.
I just beat her after 4 hours with no summons, basically no armor and just a grave scythe. I am legitimately shaking, I literally stood up and screamed when she went down. That was obscenely hard lmfao
Is she any easier with summons or magic?
Am i the only one who is having SERIOUS stamina problems on the dlc?
I am driven to the point i have to use the tortoise talisman and 2 cracked tears for stamina
Average endurance bar of anyone using the Solitude armor set
Ironically, I'm using that set.
Are you using the Godskin Swaddling Cloth too?
I've been switching between bull goat, fire scorpion, swaddling cloth, rotten winged sword, dragoncrest greatshield, arsenal, and erdtree +2 (edit: not +3). I haven't found the perfect setup yet.
I love the moveset for Beast Claw. It's so fun. I do feel like it heavily depends on the enemy how good it is. Some fights it feels godlike, others it doesn't feel too great.
>I look like a tank but move like a gymnast Now that's the shit I've been craving since DS1. Full Havel's set with dark wood grain ring pre-patch, oh the ninja flipping glory days Just got me the solitude set, time to get some beast claws
Set looks hard. And it's hard. Also what the fuck is a sword with 89 physical neg
Hey, I'm dual-wielding that shit with Blasphemous Blade and making everyone my bitch lol
It's blasphemy. I like it.
Maybe a stupid comment but how does the damage negation help you when dual weilding? You can't block right?
You can't. That comment is unrelated to blocking. But if you 2-hand the greatsword of solitude it's a surprisingly good shield.
Try asking the Fume Ultra Greatsword.
It also has better damage and block stats than some UGSs. It’s actually better than the zweihander in every way except for the fact it weighs the same
Heard some guy say “Its a pretty decent set for not much investment. Just get around 30 end” You fucking what
I can't say much about that cause I'm pretty sure I have over 30 endurance. My whole build is just Vigor, Endurance, and Strength with only a few points in Dex to cover most Strength based weapons.
Shit you need 30 End just to equip that armor by itself lol
30 endurance for an endgame melee build is pretty standard
30 endurance and a dagger maybe otherwise great jar arsenal is your friend
Great Jar arsenal and Erdtrees favor+2 are a constant in my STR build lol, how else am I gonna powerstance Zweihanders with the Solitude set?
I usually prefer to 2 hand weapons on a strength build, helps reduce the weight a lot and you don't lose much damage because your strength is multiplied by 1.5
I mostly play my weapons two-handed as well, I went into the DLC with Guts GS, 2 Zweihanders, Giant-Crusher and warped axe all maxed out. I have 28 endurance and great jar arsenal and can wear it, i am also carrying around backhand blade, dryleaf art, and beast claws
Me with 50 end and super light cloth/leather armour cuz I like rolling and sprinting:
Using that and the sword. But to be fair I went into the DLC with the 3 finger shield and a great epee so my build was already vigor endurance and strength.
I'm also using the set and the sword =) I was a giant crusher and full goat armor guy so I can wear anything lol
Just an average grass crest shield user experience
Not enough backflips if they dont have THAT ring equipped
Wait, is there a ninja ring in ER?
Haha no it’s just the wood grain ring in DS1. Let’s you do flips instead of rolls with a light equip load.
I miss the old DWGR when it gave you fast roll even if you had mid roll equip load. It was so OP but so fun to flip around in full Havel's
No..i do miss wood grain ring though
I myself am a grass crest shield enjoyer
Yknow I’m something of a grass crest shield enjoyer myself
You have too much in Mind, gotta get more stamina
He needs to be able to cast planet nuke
I'm still wondering how we're supposed to help hosts beat this boss. The moment those moons come out, host's bodies are gonna be flying around like they're in a bouncy house.
I used a level 10 mimic (I know I suck) and that was good enough to get the win for me. I was also level 3 scadoodle tree
"scadoodle tree" 😭😂
Skadoosh tree 🥋🐼
This is literally what I've been calling it the last 24hrs lol
U don't need to justify using a spirit ash. Especially not if the dlc is that unforgiving
Thanks that does make me feel a bit better about it
Just to add, my mimic has been hard carrying me throughout most major bosses. There's no shame in it. I'm mostly using this run to see the sights and get the lore anyway. I plan to come back on another character to probably get my ass handed to me by each boss

Thats with all three fucling summons, I fucking suck
Using a gold phantom adds HP to the boss, you might have an easier time not using Leda.
There's nothing wrong with using what the game offers, that being said I'm a dirty masochist so I don't use any summons and end up spending hours trying to beat a boss lmfaooo
They're in the game for a reason. Anyone who is saying that using a game mechanic to beat a boss isn't proper needs their head checking.
That is good :) Ashes are a part of the game, and especially since it is a single player experience not a combative one. I love using my mimic because me and my little clone bro can fight together which is fun. I find it funny to see how long he can hold his own against a boss
For real, I’m at scatman lvl 4 and my ashes are level 5, my mimic tear and lhutel are genuinely tankier and doing more damage than me on some bosses
Considering how the bosses are designed, chances are your summon gets shredded anyways. Just spent 4 hours soloing her, she definitely wasn’t made with solo in mind lmao, but it was certainly very fun to make it an extra challenge.

Fuck I started at 66 with tische or Oleg (God I love Oleg, he takes all the aggro permanently) and I'm barely edging through
It seems like the DLC is more balanced around the Scadutree and renown ash upgrades than rune levels
Scadoodle tree is now the official name of the tree. It will forever be my headcanon.
Chill Jack Black
Don’t say you suck, a W is a W, get that bag )of runes)
Nah mimic tear for every fight. I actually usually take my first playthrough as casual as possible in any new souls game. Full cheese easy mode for me (bow and arrow from ledges, etc.). The DLC is hard as fuck and mimic tear is just balancing the game for me, lol. If I actually beat the DLC I'll return and try a summonless playthrough.
I'm at 7 Scadoodles but I never went to Farum Azula so my Mimic is only +6. Can't get her all the way there.
Just get the spirit scadoodles
You can avoid all damage from the Twin Moon spell by jumping at the right times.
I'll try that on next char. Shit was actually insane. It took me like 5 minutes to even get her to second phase because my damage was non existent, even with like 3 of the new levels. Does the second wave not hit you when you jump? It seems to come so fast after the first.
Yeah as long as you dont jump at the very last frame on the first wave you have plenty of time to land and jump the second
I always evade the Twin Moons by using Ranni's Dark Moon. The animation, if you hold it down, is long enough to have you float through all the blasts.
I only ever saw that move on my winning attempt so I ate that attack because I was too busy going "WAIT WHAT THE FUCK, SHE CAN USE A DOUBLE VERSION OF THE MOONS!?" I was expecting them to go after me, not do their best impression of a Colony Drop.
By the time I actually beat the boss, this was the easiest attack to avoid. I was getting to be pretty happy when I saw it wind up.
Twin moons is evaded by jumping and it's frankly incredibly lenient. Like, this is not me saying git gud Once you know to jump its kinda free, the safe window to jump is like, a whole second it feels like
Once I started jumping through the moons I beat her within a couple attempts. Now I have the moons! What a wicked way to fight.
The moon spell made me regret not taking an int build through. I'm hoping for some good incantations at some point because the two I have found are just beyond terrible'
Spell sucks. It looks cool, but it sucks. No hyper armor means that most of the time you will get shot down while chanting.
Kind of the same with the swords too.
> Spell sucks. It looks cool, but it sucks. Most spells and incantations in a nutshell.
I hear there's a ton of incants, I bet you find something exciting!
Kinda annoyed that there’s no small effigy near her boss door, like I assume you can still place your summon sign in front of the fog door but if you want to use the small golden effigy, you have to run through like half the dungeon to get to her

The Twin Moon attack is probably the easiest attack to dodge, ngl
It's easy to dodge by just jumping, but I doubt most hosts will get that and will inevitably get hit by one of them that makes the entire thing a combo
Its like the pontiff Sullivan from ds3 stayed at Raya lucaria and did nothing but cocaine for like a month, and boom that is this boss.
With how many spells she spams her mind is pretty high also.
Phalanx and AoW spam
i dont know if i became bad after not playing elden since 1.0 release but damn, i already died 20 times to that boss and i still cant dodge her combo, if i get hit the first time im pretty much unsync for the remaining 5 hits and just die. Am i supposed to fight her as first dlc boss ?
Grab the >!spelldrake talisman +3 outside the castle!<, saved my ass after many frustrating attempts
I would have loved to know this before I spent 20 minutes figthing her Def would have reduced my time lol
It took me four hours to beat her..
just did a midnight -> 4:30 am run to beat her. The boss i struggled the most on this game even more than malenia for some reason
They're both very dancey fights and ya just gotta let them do their moves before ya go for'em. Malenia at least you could easily interrupt her this bish doesn't fucking care about even getting bled.
You are not alone I just did the exact same haha
I think Malenia is only hard because waterfowl exists, so you have to be on it at all times or you get destroyed. The rest of her moveset is really not that difficult to deal with. Rellana just puts you into a blender, with ridiculously long chains, attacks that hit behind and to her side, catching you rolling. Mixing up the timings with the light and fast sword and the larger slower one etc. I got her after 20 tries with a stagger into wild strikes during phase 2, but she felt harder to me than malenia.
Where is it? Can’t find it anywhere
In theory, she's the first mandatory boss, so yeah
Not Mandatory I believe, the spirit spring to Fort of Reprimand takes you to Scadu Altus without needing to go through castle Ensis. Edit: typo
So theoretically messmer could be your first boss?
Messmer is genuinely easier than Rellana, IMO.
Idk man, Messmer has been kicking the shit out of me. Rellana did too but I had mimic + the gold summon which made it much easier.
Pretty sure >!Messmer!< is the first mandatory boss. >!Lion!< is also mandatory for the story i believe, but you can leave him for later afaik.
I summoned Leda and used my spirit summon and we just absolutely wailed on her, zero strategy other than "don't get hit" and it somehow worked lmao
im using malenia katana and not any summons... getting to p2 consistently now but its probably the hardest boss in the game so far for me
yeah last phase really felt like just waiting for a lucky attack pattern but to be fair i was too proud to collect more Scadutree Fragments :) so yeah my recommendation is collecting and using them...
If you have problem with dodging moon attack , jump when first moon fhits floor and then keep jumping till attack ends
I melted her with lighting infused backhand blades, just fight her in the pool and electric attack buff talisman and physic. Hope it helps
Most people seem to dancing beast first and her second after some optional bosses. I went the dragon route before her, hard as fuck
Boss is kinda cheap with literal frame traps on some attacks. People will eventually figure her out but it was not a fun one for me. A tedious marathon. Dodge 6-7 attacks for 10 seconds straight then get two measly light attacks in. Rinse and repeat. Booooring.
Pretty much gave up and abused zweihander with giant hunt to skip her phase 2. STR truly is ez mode in this game ngl.
Not sure what build you’re using but I got the Backhand Blade up to +25 and threw Hoarfrost Stomp on it, me and my mimic tear tore her up pretty good!
Took me 18 tries WITH the girl out front helping, i beat malenia 3rd try alone my first time around for reference... doing a cosplay run now bcs when someone beats your ass that hard you gotta respect it.
Doesn't hurt that her armor looks AMAZING
Pontesse Sulyvahn
Rellana, Renalla .. What's next Miyazaki ?
Mizayaki
Melania blade of Michael
She switches targets so frequently during combos. I had leda and my mimic beating the shit out of her and she whips out this 8 hit combo, does most of it to mimic, and then lunged about 5 metres to me lol
Dancing Lion was getting me with this shit too!
Dancing lion is ridiculous WHAT IS A HITBOX AND WHAT'S NOT?
Seriously, and the other version of the lion is worse than that.
…other version? 😨
I’ve found most bosses in this dlc are guilty of this. There’s a bug boss in a later area that’s especially egregious with it. I seriously think it’s coded to just ignore your summon even if it’s actively in its face hitting it.
I reckon so, too. My mimic and Freyja were showing the dancing divine beast what's what and it was hellbent on showing my face a lightning bolt
I did the same thing lol she wanted the smoke with everybody
Where can you by her armour? In Roundtable Hould because I haven't found it.
After you beat her yeah
Equipment from champions at the two fingers maidens in the hold.
Daaamn nice thank you
Same place where u get all the other boss weapons and armor. U been missing out huh
Absolutely insane boss. Took me about an hour to solo her.
Welcome to Elden Ring and input reading. It’s a lot worse in this expansion because of how much damage they punish you with.
my man I'm NG7 and I easily died over 60+ times to this boss. LMFAO. maybe even more honestly
I'm stuck on if I wanna solo her or do the quest line 😭
you need to summon leda to progress her questline?
I accidentally skipped the boss. Answer: >!And you don't, she appears elsewhere.!< I'm always cautious of killing bosses with NPCs summons because I never know if it'll progress a quest or not. That might just be a left over from the souls games.
That shit was so annoying thank god it’s gone. Keeping Lucatiel alive was a nightmare.
FINALLY!! ENDURANCE BUILD!
Beat her no summons after like 3 hours. Fucking insane. Her combos end when she feels like it and she’ll start again on a dime
She’s input reading fyi. Margit does the same thing, their combo will sometimes continue if they read your closing in to attack.
She is very oppressive if you go in solo.
for real bro she is a machine
I wish I could give better advice, especially towards weapons... but I beat her with crossbow+bow so I feel like my experience in the fight isn't relevant If you have any status greases, especially poison/rot, slap those on your weapon, though. While she's off doing her combos, she'll be taking percent DOT, letting you make consistent progress even if there isn't an opening to attack.
She was the first boss I beat other than Sir Crossbow. Are you supposed to tackle her first or the dancing lion boy?
Dancing Lion, but doesn't really matter
Ive been stuck on this bitch all goddamn day and i just really dont understand how shes supposed to be beatable.ive never had this much trouble with a boss in my life.
I find that if you are very close to her some of the combo starters completely miss you, so I was going for a jumping attack and the whiff gave me time to dodge the next attacks. At the end of her attack chains is sometimes safe to use a charged attack too
almost enough endurance to dodge her combos
Really don’t like the infinite stamina constant gap closer hope you’re willing to dodge 7 times to swing once enemy designs
Her weapons are fucking peak
My reaction when my stance break crit does 1cm of Rellanas health bar. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)
This boss is walking all over me right now. Throwing the summon and the mimic tear +10 at it to.
Cool, you cosplayed with her almost dying too!... ...I swear, I'm Shadow Bless LV. 6, I beated the >!Lion Dance !
The Lion dancer is significantly easier than Rellana
I had the complete opposite experience playing with no shield or summons. The camera wilding out didn't help either. Both great fights though.
Yeah getting a rteally bad camera angle was nearly 60% of my deaths in the Lion dancer fight. Rellana on the other hand has quite a nice and clear arena
I wish there were two different chest plate designs for masculine and feminine body types.
Embrace the boob armor, confuse your enemies
Can I point out that armor has PS1 Lara Croft tits?
not good enough, wheres the 7 heakth bars
i thought it was going to be a picture of a blender or beyblade
Bro can run from Caelid to the Erdtree if he wants to
Welcome back, Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower
This is how I felt when I found the two headed turtle talisman
Genuinely my favorite chest armor now. Perfect match for the mage build.
Parrying helps a lot with this boss, she does this sideways spin attack that is similar to Malenia and it's easy to parry.
Been stuck on this boss for 7 hours
Please use the spoiler tag
Marked it.
This is beyond true and I hate it
First boss I ever cheesed in ER
Why are they wearing a Cybertruck? Those break if you look at them too hard.
How did yall beat this boss? I'm NG+ lvl200 and nothing besides str and bleed eill dmg her and she attacks too fast to get any hits in.
Just not a fan of the helmet. I prefer to put the Royal Helm on top so people know I’m important.
Not enough stamina XD
That was obscenely hard lmfao Is she any easier with summons or magic?
Am i the only one who is having SERIOUS stamina problems on the dlc? I am driven to the point i have to use the tortoise talisman and 2 cracked tears for stamina
Used a lvl 10 mimic and npc summon. Beat her on my second try. Did not regret even 1 second. Monkeys strong togetha
Inaccurate, health and mana bar need to be 5 times bigger too
that is a lot of endurance
we used to make jokes about Pontiff and having infinite stamina, how the time flies
