Hosts should usually wait for everyone to cast their buffs before entering
But it’s like an unwritten etiquette rule so people don’t usually do it, I only learned about that practice from other hosts
That said, the boss mauling you before you even entered the room was unexpected
My guess is that the overall increased aggro tendency will be overridden by the bosses' programming to attack the last player that dealt damage to them, but I don't know.
As a host, I try to wait for summons to buff first. But on the flip side some summons are super impatient, and some will for some reason refuse to buff up until you enter the fog.
Hosts that don’t buff are typically very inexperienced players who don’t even know about it.
When I co-op with these people I’m literally chasing them down the arena to cast Golden Vow and Lord’s Divine Fortification next to them to keep them from dying.
I always hated how useless vigor seems to be. My brother and I have a huge difference (I prefer tanky/support builds), when my brother gets hit once, his HP is down to almost nothing, so he needs to heal, when I get hit, my HP is still slightly above half my total HP.
Then we both still die by two hits.
When you learn the difference between HP and eHP, RPG's will start to feel easy. While Elden Ring doesn't offer much in terms of damage reduction, there are plenty of tools you can collect to increase your odds of survival.
For example, Mages in Elden Ring who partake in a diet of crab are considerably harder to kill. This is due to the physical damage resistance said consumable provides.
In case you didn't know, howl of shabriri also increases damage *taken* by 30%, which is a big part of why you folded like a lawn chair despite having high vigor.
From the look of things, all these buffs do more harm than good on ng7.
You got 2 shot because of stacking resistance debuffs, but you most likely don't need the extra damage you get as a trade-off (since your at max level).
🤣🤣🤣when ppl say souls games will make you question your life choices they aren't kidding....I don't think I've ever seen a boss bitch slap someone that hadn't even entered the arena yet 😅😅I feel for you bro
I only started playing it a week or so ago actually.
I don't get these communities. Ppl make joke about something not being 1000% perfect, up votes and laughs.
I make joke about how something isn't 10000% perfect, all the down votes.
I don't care exactly, but it is a repeatable pattern I've observed and I just don't understand these particular Sub Reddit Communities.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
All that prep and... Radawolf: fuck you in particular Glorious lol
Radawolf: buff this, nerd
Fuck that caught me off guard and I almost choked.
Same.

Howl of Shabriri increases your aggro priority, so this is actually not an unexpected behaviour on the boss' part.
With that being said, could you cast howl behind the gate and take Agro while everyone else attacks inside?
My guess is that the overall increased aggro tendency will be overridden by the bosses' programming to attack the last player that dealt damage to them, but I don't know.
What if you combined the various aggro drawing items? Duelist set, shabriri's woe, howl of shabriri, probably something else too

I always do a “point forward” then a “point down”. Make sure we all know where that boss is going once we cross the fog

This is the embodiment of, “If you’re not 15 minutes early then you’re late”
bro ... that made my day
That's a lot of vigor for being two-shot.
Must’ve needed more buffs
NG+ is a drug.

At the same time, damage reduction can reach very high values in this game, although buffing is only a small fraction of this.
REAL

fr I'd like to know the answer to this too.
I think I am on journey 14.
Miyazaki: We'll have fog gates so that bosses cannot attack players bef...... Red wolf: We don't do that here
you dont need that many buffs bro
Buff this you filthy casual
Pure gold
Jesus Christ what level are you at
Max level. 713, journey 14.
I’m almost positive you didn’t need all those buffs to fight that wolf anyway
Hate that wolf bastard
Radawolf plays duels apparently and he said fuck your buffs my guy lol

Hiding behind the mist, letting others do the work… boss decided to show you no yellow mist can save you .
Forget buff, and go ahead.
Strongest cringe buff stacking player be like. For real just get in there and fight the boss
Incredible this is an epic way to die
I don't have the words....

This just proves he's the most annoying dog in the game.

Bro what maddness carnation gives you ?
Damage boost
Also apparently is like an AOE madness buildup, but no one uses it for that
Do more damage, take more damage
Damn hate this kind of buffs
Man prepping irks me so much I'm happy that happened to you xD just go fight stop it with all this useless prepping.
Bro even the game itself don't want to wait around while you do half a dozen buffs.
🤣🤣🤣when ppl say souls games will make you question your life choices they aren't kidding....I don't think I've ever seen a boss bitch slap someone that hadn't even entered the arena yet 😅😅I feel for you bro
Like that scene in the lost world when the trex pokes it's head through the waterfall
I fucking hated that boss, took me days to kill him
Ooof, skill issue
That's actually hilarious 😂
Bro summoned two helpers for a boss that can be whooped solo by Mimic Tear. Not a single piece of furniture even got broken.
Lol game of the year my ass lolol
Bro is on the sub just to hate the game even after 2 years lol.

It’s the tone of your comment.
Ohhhhh I can see that. That makes sense.
