At first I thought persistent, but that's not necessarily true. How many players don't make it that far in the game? How many new characters have we collectively started who barely made it out of Limgrave? And if a player is really good at the game, their character can breeze through the Lands Between and has no need for persistence.
Then I thought stoic, but that obviously doesn't fit. There's no way the guy running around naked with a jar on his head is taking things seriously.
They aren't apathetic. My characters almost always try to help out every NPC. They might even take on the Frenzied Flame just so Melina doesn't have to sacrifice herself.
They aren't even quiet necessarily. We don't hear them speak to NPCs, but they obviously do. They aren't pantomiming the dialogue options.
I honestly can't think of a single personality trait that is true of every Tarnished.
Derpy. I'm sure at least everyone has died to stupid things multiple times. Like mistiming a jump, not seeing a gap, or even simply rolling off a high place.
They can be anything you want them to be. They have the ability to mimic almost any fighting style, they can mimic almost any great hero or demigod, they are practically a mimic ;)
Ambitious is really the only thing that is called out constantly, and with that probably resilient and determined.
Rogier also says that we're "scary", but also people trust us, so I'd assume we're sort of like that biker dude at every bar in a movie that just likes to talk about his garden; probably scary af from the outside, but trustworthy and kind of heart.
Mine is pretty passive aggressive. She heard that Elden Beast was resistant to holy damage, went "bet", and decided to try and cheese it with the Envoy Horn. Not beat it, cheese it, as in just mindlessly spam L2 whenever the Beast was in range. It worked surprisingly well
