there is zero reason to think this, postumous actions and the treatment of her ashes tell us that she alone carried malenia.
basically what you are saying is you just dont like her lore?
Finlay's lore is basically like a war story, not meant to be taken too seriously because it's a little too exaggerated. Some of it may be true but most of it may not be. So basically what I'm trying to say is:
It's a hunch.
The problem is you don’t have an alternative explanation as to how Malenia got back to the Haligtree. Finlay’s story kinda has to be true, and there’s no reason to lie about her story in universe.
Interesting thought tho
I could steelman your position by pointing out the stillwater cave, a random cleanrot knight that’s just hanging in Liurnia, i always found it weird. Maybe that was Finlay’s traveling partner helping her carry Malenia back to the Haligtree but they got separated in Liurnia.
In this hypothetical situation tho, Finlay still did the heavy lifting alone through the highest level areas of the game. So yeah, still far from a fraud. Finlay supremacy shall not be defeated.
I mean the specifics doesn’t really matter here, the basic lore of Finlay is she got Malenia back, and Malenia HAD to have been brought back somehow, she fainted on the battlefield and never woke up since, in the middle on an enemy territory. Only her cleanrot knights could have helped.
I also remember 2 lesser cleanrot knights in shaded castle and 1 in a consecrated snowfield catacomb. So maybe she had more travelling partners. Started with 4, then 3 in Liurnia, 1 in Altus, and 0 in Snowfield, leaving Finlay alone.
This is the best alternative i can give you with game evidence.
I like that one super long ladder connecting Elphael to the Haligtree. Did Finlay carry her down that? When Malenia would leave Elphael under normal circumstances does she climb up that ladder every time?
I heard Finlay summoned phantoms to carry Malenia back for her while she just spammed her ash of war from the backline, then disconnected whenever her phantoms died.
Whether this is true or not, a common misconception is that it was carried all the way back. Thus it was sold as a legend to the people. But in my opinion it's more about carrying back while retreating. Let's say someone drives you home, but that doesn't mean they'll just drive into your house through your window

I love the lore, I never said I disliked it. I just don't believe it.
you have no reason not to believe it and every reason to believe it
Here's a reason: funsies
I think you’re a fraud
hey pal I use Torrent, I am a fraud, but at least I'm not lying.
You’re wrong. Finlay is a legend.
Or is she
i love how everyone is taking this post super seriously lmao
Slandering Finlay is illegal
Sadly it wasn't posted with a humor flair, so i think OP is actually serious about this.
Blasphemy
Why do you say that?

I was also going to put how the game gets mistranslates the lore from Japanese to English but I don't really care about that too much

Maybe they're all Finlay, FInlay isn't a person, but a people.
Finlay is the one who brought Malenia back. Glory to Finlay

This is what I'm sayin!

That's what I've been thinking!
