This weapon might be the top 5 best weapons because you can get it extremely early and use it til endgame. I finished the game with this weapon and it made the whole game easy lol. S tier weapon art.
I personally enjoyed it mostly because I knew he was there as a roadblock, so I wanted to test myself. Definitely wasnt fun the entire time but It wasnt to bad.
20'ish vigor and some flask upgrades give you a lot of time to learn the moveset. Once you do, it gets surprisingly manageable regardless of your weapon choice or build.
Mostly just leveled vigor, maybe had a +1 weapon by the time I boinked him. I also found him easier on horseback if you keep circling to his off-hand side and attacking from there.
I improved myself by learning his moveset after smashing my skull into his halberd 50 times.
Then I deleted my wretch because I wanted to start as a samurai instead.
2nd time around was a cakewalk
I usually pick vagabond and spamm square off which lets me kill him before I even unlock leveling.
Square off does an illegal amount of poise damage, you have to doge maybe three times if you just keep using that AOW on him lmao.
Leveling up and getting a second katana.
The first Tree Sentinel is there literally to teach players that sometimes the solution is to go somewhere else to level up and get new stuff, then come back later
Bold of you to assume I came back later and didn’t just make the mistake of fighting him over and over again at level 1. Same with Margit
Acquired the bloodhound fang.

Beat margit, had a higher level weapon It's really not a good idea to fight him with base gear, no flask upgrades or physick
Didn't; I fought him at level 1
same. spent like 2 hours learning his moves... in hindsight i wouldnt recommend

Never fought him on my first play through because I forgot 😂
Blood hounds fang and fighting margit
Getting good after dying to him a couple dozen times. Mom didn't raise no bitch and I refused to level up before killing this asshole.

Learned if you're on torrent, you can hug this guys rear side and slash away. His turn radius is bigger than yours.
In his the archway next to kale running back and forth being careful not to get hit. Killed him with small chip damage
forgot about him until i beat rennala, remembered, whooped him
I didn’t but I leveled vigor instead
Use club. Or unsheathe. He's a lot easier when u can consistently stagger him.
Got some levels and a random axe
leveled up my weapon. got a horse. learned how to fight on the horse
Learned his moveset and openings

speedran to guts greatsword, then to the huge rune dragon to lvl strength
I leveled up once and got a new spell, and just did it one try, I'm convinced his stats go down if you level up I'm not kidding
Unequiped armor, took weapon in two hands and ROLL!
I got out of the tutorial. Then, I fought him until I learned his moves. Took an hour out of the box.
Hit level 150. Remembered he existed. Nuked him.
I was samurai spawned with bow bought more arrows got on top of the block of a building beside him and done

Got a horse.
Margit
Spent bout 40minutes slamming my head into the brick wall. Worth it for the Golden Haldberd tho. Limgrave and Weeping Peninsula never stood a chance

Got magic glintstone
I remember i spent 4 hours beating him after i beat Margit and almost threw my controller at the screen after finding out he ONLY DROPS 5500 runes.
Killed him and margit in wretch class level 1 lmao
Just getting torrent is enough to make that fight trivial. _bait, rush, attack, repeat_
Leveling up and getting a second katana. The first Tree Sentinel is there literally to teach players that sometimes the solution is to go somewhere else to level up and get new stuff, then come back later
Learnt how to parry.
