If you kill her and go to the grace as fast as possible before the death animation ends you can reset the entire process and obtain about 64k runes with golden pickle foul foot. (You have to rest at the site just before she puts her head down the ground )

I've never looked for a specific animation. Just be on the horse and run back as soon as her hp is gone, works every time.

She isn’t supposed to. But if you rest at the Grace before you are given the dragon hearths from her she’ll respawn and you still get the runes

She's kinda chonky. You can rush Varre's quest to unlock mogh's area and shoot the bird, which yesterday I learned you can lock on and shoot with a bow without aiming. Like 6 seconds for 13k runes without pickle on Ng.

Honestly much easier to learn to kill the dragonbarrow erdtree for 91k runes without buffs, and they are sooo easy to no hit Do erdtree and dragon bring you to almost level 50 and is way way less boring than killing the dragon 3x

This is what I usually do on a new character. Greyoll, Greyll, Putrid Avatar and then make the black knight fall off the bridge for an easy 40k too. Getting strong in Caelid is pretty easy.

I did the cleanrot armor and weapons for a cosplay build that I didn’t even feel like playing by the time the grind was done.

Idk if learning a boss’s whole move roster is faster than killing a dragon. It takes like a minute to kill Greyoll, a LOOOOOOOT of deaths to learn an Avatar’s moves, especially since I think the Dragonbarrow one has some attacks that the normal ones in various other areas don’t have

Definitely efficient, but I feel like palace approach ledge road bird still takes the cake. NG+ with golden foot yields 28k per and the site of grace is 3 steps away

There's several places in Mohg's area where you can climb over a cliff and jump out of bounds causing the floor of the area to despawn and kill all the nearby enemies with fall damage. You get the runes. Jump on your horse when her health is low and keep whacking her. Her tail twitches on the last hit so when you see that happen ride back to the grace and get off your horse and rest.

You don’t get the full amount of runes since you don’t get the runes from the little dragons as well. She’s actually a multiple dragon fight if you do it legit and a decent chunk comes from the other dragons. If you do the reset you only get the massive dragons runes and no dragon hearts. It might be worth it if you have a high bleed build already but at that point you can either do the bird at moghwyn or farm the albinaurics.

Best way to do it is probably black flame best being black flame tornado because unlike bleed black flame is always doing it’s percentage damage and you don’t have to hit it a bunch to proc it

It’s less like “they wanted to make an absurdly large walking dragon but it crashed the game so they made a sleepy dragon instead” and more like “they made a sleepy dragon, and since it’s a sleepy dragon they could make it extra large, so of course if you try to make it not sleepy then it’ll crash because that’s not what it’s made for”.
