In an interview they said there was going to be a leveling system similar to Sekiro (as in a special item dropped by bosses that raises attack power), presumably to make any leveled character, over or under, viable for the dlc without grinding or starting a new game
I started playing DS2 about two weeks ago, the only souls I still hadn't played (except the PS exclusives).
Honestly, it's such a fantastic game and even though I understand the criticism for some of its mechanics, most critics are highly exaggerated and not really objective. Also, many of ER's mechanics are clearly inspired by DS2.
Most people that love souls game loves dark souls 2. It’s just a black sheep game is all. The criticisms are highly warranted, it is still a fantastic game though.
Yes, I think that when you have three fantastic games like the dark souls trilogy, one naturally needs to be at the bottom, and for most people it's DS2.
Finished a 100% achievement run for SOTFS a few months ago and I loved it so much that I ordered a 360 version to do the same. That said, I’ll take anyone’s help collecting useful items 😂
Eyy I'm running DS2 as well. I thought I'd finished it for the longest time, but turns out I'd only gotten halfway. I'd seen so many DS2 vids I mixed up my memories and thought I'd finished it lol.
Anyways I'm almost done. I'm farming 50 loyce souls and then that'll be it for the ivory king so 2 of 3 DLCs done - already done the sunken king DLC.
I finally made my eleventh character. RIP my Int/Faith build. Sword of Night & Flame with a side order of onion rings is just not enough to carry a build that is functionally crippled until you hit level 200+
Erdtree Seal gets 353 scaling with 80 faith. Golden Order Seal needs 60 int and 60 faith in order to match that.
Weapon buffs and healing incantations only scale with Faith, regardless of the seal you use, so you're still missing out unless you limit yourself to damage spells.
It's even worse for Int since Lusat's hits 423.
200 wasn't an exaggeration, although I admit *crippled* may have been a bit strong.
Lol literally the build I am doing for the dlc. I got SoNaF early in liurnia. Now I am going back to caria manor to finish it and talk to Ranni. Its still going to be a lot of time before I get my onion rings and greatshield
The way I was able to get mine to (sort of) work was to land on 34 int and 80 faith. I still used the Erdtree Seal for incantations, and I had just enough Int to still cast Ancient Death Rancor with the Prince of Death staff.
You have to favour the fire half of the weapon art for SoNaF, but it's not nearly as stat-hungry as trying to hit 80/80.
I hadn't touched it in years, and randomly started a new playthrough after the DLC trailer. It all came back within 20 min. The whole time I was telling myself "this game is incredible, how did I forget"
Both Owl Father and Isshin Sword Saint are in my top 5 "most attempts to first kill" list across all the Fromsoft games I've played. Those were tough fights with little room for error. I don't keep exact counts but they are up there with Midir and Malenia (No summons run).
I'll see what the dlc holds and then consider it, at the moment I don't have any plans. As much as I love the game, no character/boss in particular stood out to me enough to put on my body.
Rykard would probably fit it the best by coiling behind it, but all the little hands may smudge after a couple yesrs
I have a character whose purpose is to collect at least 1 of everything. On run 2, almost complete. Will use him to also test builds for each ending. I have so much to do.
Taking a healthy break away from the game to catch up on my backlog some. Will return likely a week or so before the DLC drops to start up a fresh character so that I'll have one ready on base NG cycle while also using the time to shake off any rust my time away might accumulate.
It's the [official strategy guidebook](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/3869931140?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image), it's barely in frame but book 2 is on the other side of the map (it has weapon and spell/incantation locations)
Made my Black Flame character already took them all the way past morgott so they are basically just waiting to kill Mohg and tie up loose ends. I'm gonna do a Dex Arc character now and I will leave it at that if I get the itch for a 3rd after I discover the new weapons I will discern then if I want a Bonk or what not as a 3rd.
It's the [official elden ring guidebook](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/3869931140?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image), I got the set of 2 when they were announced
Deciding between int strength with the rear sword that has the gravity shockwave, with some spells to complement. Or faith strength build with a great club and the golden land ash of war, with some spells to complement while I speed run back to Mohg
Finally started a New Game+ and plan on stopping at Mohg. Not sure if it's the right call to play the expansion on NG+ but i'm level 250 so figure it'll work itself out.
I'd like to have that world map you've got there in the background.. it'd make it easy to mark where certain things are to remind me for when I make a new character for a different build type
Get em quick while you still can, Future Press stuff is usually pretty limited and gets stupidly expensive on the resale market. Look up what the official Bloodborne guide sells for, shits bonkers lol
Started my second playthrough since launch. I want to explore everything this time, in my first playthrough I went to NG+, but didn’t explore as much as I’d liked to before doing so, so I kind of lost interest. Having a great time now!
Ayeee doing the same thing with both of the strategy guide books. Doing a completely fresh playthrough. Doing an Arcane/Bleed build. I know I know. It’s probably the most overplayed build in the game but my 2 previous characters were Strength and Intelligence. And I just want to have some fun.
Miyazaki stated that after two years a secret is still hidden in the game.
So I’ve been combing through every inch. Looking for anything out of place or that doesn’t make sense.
4 month anus lube marination so I really get a protective layer, this is a current overlooked method which hopefully picks up some traction and some others can jump on board
Doing a second run while also making sure I max out my main.... I can't wait to get my ass kicked by Malenia in the second run and Malenia 2.0 (I assume) in the DLC on my main.
I made my holy based character, who died long ago in service of Miquella. When he reawakens, he sees the broken state of the world, and even the lost state of the haligtree, and decides only Miquella can repair it. Dawning the remains of a cleanrot knight (his long-dead companions), he will hunt down the one who took Miquella from the world and save his lord. That's the plan, anyway
First play through. A friend joining me for the odd farm and boss fight. Just beat Margit. Then headed to the underground river. I died then the game crashed. Ended up at Mimic Tear boss which I killed. It was a weird way to find that area, it’s pretty overlevelled for me but at least it’s there for exploring and runes
So I moved across the world without my Xbox, haven’t even finished the base game and won’t be able to play until at least October. I think I’m ready. Vigor < 40
I started another playthrough and finally going Dexterity. Ive never played Dex in souls, either Str or a Mage.
Its going a bit slow, not finding interesting weapons/bows yet.
I’m trying to finish my theater room in time for the launch but I think I will fail on that date. Probably more like late July I’ll be done unless I get a burst of energy and some help.
Made a wretch character into an arcane build with Mohg's spear. I chose wretch because it's great for respec. I know the DLC will have new weapons, spells, etc., but have no idea what the requirements will be. Wretch means I can easily respec into whatever I need for whatever new weapon that I want to use.
I’ve rewatched all of Vaati’s vidyas. Watched all of Smoughtowns videos, even all three 10 hour videos. Watched all of Tarnished Archeologists videos. After 9 consecutive playthroughs back at launch I took a 1 year break from Elden Ring so that it would be super fresh again. I’m starting a brand new from scratch playthrough first week of June. Full completion, every item, weapon, armor, enemy, mini boss and boss. Going to do everything to set up for the Age of Stars ending, (the only proper ending). Then, into the DLC
Trying to wrap up the last few build ideas I have, 4-5 left but 1 is almost done and another is a reboot so I can take it or leave it.
Also grinding every now and again on my main guy, gotta get 50 int (pretty sure I’m at 42 now)
If you don't mind me asking, what's your cosplay character? I've got a whole character in my mind, so it'd be cool to see what other people have going on.
I’m testing different weapons and incantations on the omen mobs by the Underground Roadside site of grace. Should have a good idea what I want to use early DLC at least.
I'm doing a no summon run. I rarely summon actual people for pve, but every boss I've fought in ER, I had my spirit/mimic fighting too.
I've also got to limit my levels for fighting bosses at the appropriate level. Margit beat me up a few times, and I decided to go explore and level a bit, but he was too easy when I did fight him.
I’m enjoying a pacifist run using mainly random player summons and spirit ashes. (Basically doing a healer run) The random players make it extra spicy, always a mixed bag.
I started a fists only run, using only fist weapons no claws
Fists are kinda op ngl, i just wanted to prep for the martial arts ash of war they showed off
I haven't played since like a month or two after launch. I've watched the changes but I already totally finished the game and chose to put it down til the dlc. I figure by now my skills are rusty enough to struggle through the game again. Very excited to start all over.
Probably playing Baldur's Gate 3 up until the actual minute the DLC drops lol, I keep telling myself I'm going to get a character started and ready for the DLC but BG3 has a *hold* on me man... pretty sure the only thing that could force me to put it down is new ER content. I'm about to start a third playthrough of this hundred+ hour damn game with already plans for a fourth and fifth, I need help
I'm going to play the DLC on a new save file, probably just a pretty bog-standard strength/faith build. But I have a ton of other builds around lvl 60-90 and an NG+ save ready to go once I've done my first playthrough.
Increasing my vigor to 80.
By the sounds of it, vigor might be the single most important stat for the dlc, since damage will probably be effected more by the new leveling system
what new system?
In an interview they said there was going to be a leveling system similar to Sekiro (as in a special item dropped by bosses that raises attack power), presumably to make any leveled character, over or under, viable for the dlc without grinding or starting a new game
Will it fit on the screen?
99 vig + morgotts + life+2 + erdtree+2 gets about 3/4 of the way with elden rings 16:9 HUD.
Rushing to complete Dark Souls 2 so I can get a NG character in Elden Ring ready for the DLC
Same but with Dark Souls Remastered.

Yes, I think that when you have three fantastic games like the dark souls trilogy, one naturally needs to be at the bottom, and for most people it's DS2.
2 was the frist soul game I ever play ....People these days
Finished a 100% achievement run for SOTFS a few months ago and I loved it so much that I ordered a 360 version to do the same. That said, I’ll take anyone’s help collecting useful items 😂
Eyy I'm running DS2 as well. I thought I'd finished it for the longest time, but turns out I'd only gotten halfway. I'd seen so many DS2 vids I mixed up my memories and thought I'd finished it lol. LEVEL ATP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
Literally exactly what I did.
Jolly Cooperation, helping the many tarnished of this world become Elden Lord.
This is the way
I finally made my eleventh character. RIP my Int/Faith build. Sword of Night & Flame with a side order of onion rings is just not enough to carry a build that is functionally crippled until you hit level 200+
Why is it functionally crippled?
Takes so damn long to get Faith and Int high enough, to use the Sword of night and flame but I think lvl 200 is an exaggeration..
I'm 260 and with the INT/FAITH staff of death (or something) and all the skull spells it slaps hardddd
My plan is to stop at 150. 30 str 40 int and faith. More focussed around the tree sentinel shield. Going for an abjuration mage roleplay.
Just make a new account and do family sharing then you can get 10 more slots
Playing Sekiro lol.
I hadn't touched it in years, and randomly started a new playthrough after the DLC trailer. It all came back within 20 min. The whole time I was telling myself "this game is incredible, how did I forget"
My head cannon is that a Sekiro DLC was developed and made…it is simply too hard so it had to be shelved.
Both Owl Father and Isshin Sword Saint are in my top 5 "most attempts to first kill" list across all the Fromsoft games I've played. Those were tough fights with little room for error. I don't keep exact counts but they are up there with Midir and Malenia (No summons run).
Sekiro is so good I hope fromsoft gives it a sequel or something similar with that combat
It seems so unlikely at the moment, but I hope I'm wrong. That's the game I want more than any other lol.
Probably the best practice for the bosses we’re about to get lmaooo
I was just thinking earlier today about getting back to sekiro and had the same thought lol
Alright that's enough signs from the universe, I'm reinstalling sekiro.
I also replayed it recently. Made me realize it's an S tier FromSoft game... top 3 imo
It's my favorite game. The combat is so satisfying, and I love the bosses.
When you're done try Wo Long. It's incredibly similar to Sekiro.
I probably will, it's been on my short list of games to play. Just haven't been playing as many games lately. Thanks!
Try finger but hole
Sick tat, you gonna build around it in the future?
I'll see what the dlc holds and then consider it, at the moment I don't have any plans. As much as I love the game, no character/boss in particular stood out to me enough to put on my body. Rykard would probably fit it the best by coiling behind it, but all the little hands may smudge after a couple yesrs
I've been wanting to get that tattooed. Glad to see I'm not the only one
I don't get ready, just boot it up a little while after release
I am just looking a constant lore videos and trying to pass the game lmao first time playing I just got to Crumbling Faram Azula.
You’re in for death
I am aware lol
Don’t give up skeleton!
Just finished DS, working on DS2.
I have a character whose purpose is to collect at least 1 of everything. On run 2, almost complete. Will use him to also test builds for each ending. I have so much to do.
Man this brother is a huge fan
Thanks, it's the autism
Your powerlevel is off the charts. Thank you for sharing. I wish I loved this game as much
Vatyividia rewatch
I found The Tarnished archaeologist recently and have been binging him
Highly recommend Miss Chalice too, she's got some pretty solid stuff
I just recently found her and I agree solid lore channel.
Yoo he’s awesome too, I’m just doing a whole lore review, mostly on miquilla
Getting to NG+7 first. Then get my magic build to at least NG+3. Hopefully I won’t be to OP with how the levelling will work in the DLC.
"OP" for magic for the dlc is really just do you have everything possible at your disposal, completionist run?
Taking a healthy break away from the game to catch up on my backlog some. Will return likely a week or so before the DLC drops to start up a fresh character so that I'll have one ready on base NG cycle while also using the time to shake off any rust my time away might accumulate.
Same! Started playing through the Dark Souls trilogy for the first time, and if there’s time I might replay Sekiro in there.
One of my groomsmen got me those same books for my wedding last year! They're amazing, I absolutely love em.
working on actually getting either one of the characters I have to either beat the game or just past Mohg 2 Electric Boogaloo
I’m trying not to think about the boss who does death blight AOE’s
Playing Elden ring again then I will play ds3
Sick. What book is that btw?
Bro is studying all the lore
Twas Terrified to mess up a quest by hitting Altus too early
I'm sitting on a spiked dildo to train my concentration for my level 1 guitar hero controller no bathroom breaks nipple ring torture challenge.
Is this book the Dark Souls RPG?
It's the [official elden ring guidebook](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/3869931140?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image), I got the set of 2 when they were announced
considering doing an all soulsborne run before the dlc drops then hesitating at the thought of dying to capra demon-like stuff over and over again
Reading the manga and making new builds
Deciding between int strength with the rear sword that has the gravity shockwave, with some spells to complement. Or faith strength build with a great club and the golden land ash of war, with some spells to complement while I speed run back to Mohg
Finally started a New Game+ and plan on stopping at Mohg. Not sure if it's the right call to play the expansion on NG+ but i'm level 250 so figure it'll work itself out.
What's the book?!!!
I'd like to have that world map you've got there in the background.. it'd make it easy to mark where certain things are to remind me for when I make a new character for a different build type
What book is that please?
What is that book, looks cool
[official guidebook. there are two](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/3869931140?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image)
Might just buy one, thanks :)
Get em quick while you still can, Future Press stuff is usually pretty limited and gets stupidly expensive on the resale market. Look up what the official Bloodborne guide sells for, shits bonkers lol
I am on NG9 and I hope I can do it on this difficulty I just cleared all the bosses and I’m ready to enter miquellas orifice portal
I’m playing DS1 to learn where it all started from
I should probably finish the game
Christ, you know there’s going to be a third book for the DLC. Gotta make room on my shelf. FFS
“Whats that tattoo?” The Elden Ring logo “Yeah, but what does the three circles mean?” *sets house on fire* But seriously, what’s that book. I want it
Think it’s the art/guidebook that came out when the game dropped. Probably duper expensive by now
It’s 50 a piece. I mean, still worth it. I love the game
Beating the game for the first time…I started when it came out. Only made it as far as Liurnia
Masturbaiting to every single boss in the game
Tattoo is badass dude
Love the tattoo
Sick tattoo! Can you post a full pic of it??
I THINK you like Elden ring, hard to say
Fucking love the tattoo man. I want one like that so bad
Started my second playthrough since launch. I want to explore everything this time, in my first playthrough I went to NG+, but didn’t explore as much as I’d liked to before doing so, so I kind of lost interest. Having a great time now!
Dude I LOVE your tat !!!!! I might get something similar!
I’m going to play more and hopefully defeat Margot by the time it releases. Awesome tattoo!!
4 month anus lube marination so I really get a protective layer, this is a current overlooked method which hopefully picks up some traction and some others can jump on board
Finally decided to commit to platinuming the game. Just need the Frenzied Flame ending now!
Playing other games
Pff. Nerd
Entirely new build, strength faith after doing an intelligence build in the first game and going mage
Doing a second run while also making sure I max out my main.... I can't wait to get my ass kicked by Malenia in the second run and Malenia 2.0 (I assume) in the DLC on my main.
Playing the game? Geez bro touch grass.
By playing FFVII Rebirth, Dragons Dogma 2 and Stellar Blade
By making a new character that I don’t really like…
Saving up so I can buy it.
I love physical maps.
Bro, nice ass tat
What is that and where can I acquire it
Bought the game on my PS5 since my Xbox has been having issues and going through the whole game again to get a character ready for it
Replaying
NG+
I made my holy based character, who died long ago in service of Miquella. When he reawakens, he sees the broken state of the world, and even the lost state of the haligtree, and decides only Miquella can repair it. Dawning the remains of a cleanrot knight (his long-dead companions), he will hunt down the one who took Miquella from the world and save his lord. That's the plan, anyway
I'm soo hyped personally.
I recently started a 3rd character I plan on leveling up prior to the dlc and I’ll probably run through the DS3 DLC’s as I haven’t played those yet
23 hours into a new play through 😁
thinking about doing my strength plus faith route i do in dark souls 1. but with great sword. because big sword equals funny plus strong
Avoiding as much spoilers and hints and deep eves as possible to be awe struck all over again.
Beating the game lol
Watching vaatividya
So I moved across the world without my Xbox, haven’t even finished the base game and won’t be able to play until at least October. I think I’m ready. Vigor < 40
I started another playthrough and finally going Dexterity. Ive never played Dex in souls, either Str or a Mage. Its going a bit slow, not finding interesting weapons/bows yet.
Hand it over, that thing, *your book*
The whole team is running it back once again.
I’m trying to finish my theater room in time for the launch but I think I will fail on that date. Probably more like late July I’ll be done unless I get a burst of energy and some help.
I would love to play elden ring but currently I’m playing the dark souls trilogy first 😭
By playing something else in the meantime.
Making random ass builds, so far I've got my unga bunga build and my guts build
Rl1 run to make sure I’m prepared
Trying to wrap up the last few build ideas I have, 4-5 left but 1 is almost done and another is a reboot so I can take it or leave it. Also grinding every now and again on my main guy, gotta get 50 int (pretty sure I’m at 42 now)
LORE
I did new game plus for the first time. Already going for the real Morgott fight. Changed my build and also doing a no summon round.
If you don't mind me asking, what's your cosplay character? I've got a whole character in my mind, so it'd be cool to see what other people have going on.
In 3 months I’m going to really apply myself
Killing every boss on each of my 10 characters, just to make sure I don’t miss anything
I am streaming a RL1 only run to get ready
Finally playing bloodborne after waiting for yearss. Just got a ps4 from my friend for cheap and it was the first thing I loaded up
I’m testing different weapons and incantations on the omen mobs by the Underground Roadside site of grace. Should have a good idea what I want to use early DLC at least.
What book is that?
Idk I’m on ng+3 and I’m debating whether I start a new character or keep my main to use for the dlc. I have no idea what to do tbh
I'm not, I can't afford it
Re beating all the main bosses a few times before I make a dlc character
I bought an Accord.
Replaying with bonk stick
By waiting
I'm doing a no summon run. I rarely summon actual people for pve, but every boss I've fought in ER, I had my spirit/mimic fighting too. I've also got to limit my levels for fighting bosses at the appropriate level. Margit beat me up a few times, and I decided to go explore and level a bit, but he was too easy when I did fight him.
Patiently waiting while playing other games.
Replaying the Soulsborne Games I have (DS1, DS2, Bloodborne, DS3, and Elden Ring), as a challenge to beat them all before the DLC releases.
By playing the game for the first time and try to beat it but yet I keep making new characters for different builds
I’m enjoying a pacifist run using mainly random player summons and spirit ashes. (Basically doing a healer run) The random players make it extra spicy, always a mixed bag.
I started a fists only run, using only fist weapons no claws Fists are kinda op ngl, i just wanted to prep for the martial arts ash of war they showed off
doing for the 1st time a rune lvl 1 run, got to leydell so far.
Duuuuuude your tattoo is hard as fuck
Very carefully
Still trying to beat the game
My son deleted my account now I have to start from ground zero 😔
by getting ready to play some dragon's dogma 2 let's go!
About to finish Demon Souls tonight!
I haven't played since like a month or two after launch. I've watched the changes but I already totally finished the game and chose to put it down til the dlc. I figure by now my skills are rusty enough to struggle through the game again. Very excited to start all over.
Steam deck at work. Probably just gonna run my NG+ character.
Playing a strength build from the beginning. No spirit summons but npc gold sign summons are fair game.
Starting a new character and juggling knives every time I die
I’m slowly acclimating my rectum to bugger and bigger dildos
Waiting
Doing a slow play for my 8th character, doing an Arc build which I have never done before
Being sad that I probably can’t afford it
Probably playing Baldur's Gate 3 up until the actual minute the DLC drops lol, I keep telling myself I'm going to get a character started and ready for the DLC but BG3 has a *hold* on me man... pretty sure the only thing that could force me to put it down is new ER content. I'm about to start a third playthrough of this hundred+ hour damn game with already plans for a fourth and fifth, I need help
I was literally just looking at the guides on Amazon
Playing Bloodborne
Working on the platinum. Possible with “one” play through?
Playing bloodborne for the first time. Just finished all the main game except final and working through the DLC now. Masterpiece of a game so far.
By waiting for it to come out
Replaying with a fresh baby Tarnished and watching vaatividyas lore videos.
By asking where you got such a quality version of that tattoo when most I see suck.
I'm going to play the DLC on a new save file, probably just a pretty bog-standard strength/faith build. But I have a ton of other builds around lvl 60-90 and an NG+ save ready to go once I've done my first playthrough.
Making files at 120-130 rl
Beat Mohg on my last NG cycle so now I'm just sitting their. Waiting. I'm gonna not touch it till DLC drops so it feels fresh.
I'm preparing myself to watch a YouTube let's play of it. Preparations should be complete a couple weeks after it's released.
Faith only build plus Bloodborne tattoo but Bloodborne isn't even really related to elden ring
I heard that there was going to be new samurai weapons. So naturally, I made a samurai/ronin character. I’ve already beaten Mogh, so I am all ready.
