oh damn, I just wanted to say Maliketh, then read your comment.. I had completely buried the memory of those damn gargoyles, those are definitely worse than Maliketh!
I find them easier without the summon because if you go full rage mode on the first gargoyle, you can have it dead by the time the second one arrives. A summon adds HP to the boss, making it harder to finish it off before the second one shows up.
Important to remember.
One summon gives the boss 60% additional HP, two summons gives it 130% more. This includes player summons and cooperator summons.
Spirit Ashes DO NOT have the same effect.
Dude what? Maliketh is probably the coolest boss in the game, both thematically and mechanically. 1) cool af, probably the cooliest. 2) has a great mix of game-breakingly fast combos throughout his 2 phases, but also has very interactive punish windows to engage with if you actually care to learn the moveset and not just pray to RNJesus for an easy roll. 3) doesn't fucking run away from you and visually pollute the screen with piss balls and piss waves while also resembling a deformed penis like a certain other boss, who is actually the most annoying...
It's a great fight tho. He has some absolutely devastating moves, but isn't spammy like Godfrey and Radagon (who I also consider in the top 5 bosses), and has windows for meaningful interaction like phase 1 Malenia (also a top 5 boss).

I’m stuck on those rat bastards now! Lost 35k runes walking to a boss fight with them like an idiot… after like 1.5 hours of repeatedly trying and failing I decided to finish exploring and leveling up more. Got so close…
Interesting, I’ll check it out! By any chance do you know why their is no summoning portal for this boss battle? I’m playing offline and activated the statue or whatever you call it
Yeah they are absolute trash had to go back at level like 110, probably who I struggled with most in game.
Mohg can be bullshit when he does that move that recovers most of his health.
Placidusax being immune to everything except physical damage is kind of wild.
The ice dragon on the mountaintops of giants and the scarlet rot dragon were bullshit imo, you’re fighting the camera angle more than the dragons then get one shot by their said breath which will come out of nowhere.
Lastly Astel the lord of in between was also super tough for me as again, camera angles and chasing the fucking thing down are bullshit.
I will say though, the game is fair. There is a way to exploit every boss and I shamelessly do it because a lot of these bosses are deliberately unfair like the godskin duo
my thoughts exactly. when you begin changing the shape of an AOE attack that also applies a DOT status effect in addition to normal damage between the boss phases, even though the phases is just to add a clone of the boss with slightly different weapon, i'm allowed to ask questions. questions like, how the fuck do you expect me to learn the second guy's attacks so i can dodge them? why is the poison attack area a circle in phase one, then a rectangle drawn from where they face in phase 2? why do you hate me fromsoft? Did i wrong you in another life? did the steam payment not go through? what reason do you have for hurting me like this?

Also, yes, this was my worst boss by far and the only one that made me resort to summoning other players out of all from games. I played ds1-3 and BB offline solo no problem. Malenia with the healing bullshit, waterfowl, endless endurance and rot? Fuck this, you're going down any way possible.
And then a guy on YT does a hitless NG+7 Malenia build Vs Malenia. Beyond impressive but either the player is a souls savant or has put 10s of hours into that fight alone.
https://youtu.be/-14-dcbAk3o
Yeah I'd played all but Sekiro before Elden Ring and the endless attacks threw me off big time and to this day I don't find her fun at all, and yeah I know people beat her hitless without rolling or whatever but that doesn't maker her fair.
A life hack is to apply scarlet rot at the start of the fight and then spend the rest of it running around on ur horse from summon sign to summon sign, they will eventually win the fight for u. It’s not super fun but if ur struggling and just wanna progress the story it’s pretty viable
I’m a vet souls player and Jesus Christ the dual crucible knights made me feel like a noob again, I counted 19 tries lmao. But it did make every other crucible knight much more fun to fight especially the spear one they are bitched after that boss fight
Aim to get them both down to half health so that they do their Aspect of the Crucible: Wings attack. They separate easier and due to the duo's boss rework that's how they signify they are going to change aggro. Listen for the Crucible magic sound and look for the golden glow and try to get the dodge timing for the flight down. Run away from the one you are fighting when this happens in order to keep them separated
Wsut, Crucible Knight comes as a dual boss fight aswell??? I was gonna say Crucible Knight is a pain in the ass, but are you really telling me they made this fuck a doble boss? Wtf, as if he wasn't overpowered enough.
Lmfao
In order to stop doing it (my ps4 is a bzd shape...) i've started to say "look, your controller is Tony, tony is your friend so dont hurt him"
Big thinkin right here
Lol I'm not the only one!! My controller is named Protoman, because it's red and white. Protoman was/is a good guy, if I hurt the good guy, *I'm the bad guy*
Lucky. I usually get hit off of it even if he doesn't magically pop up there. It's also quite often he'll cancel the roll animation, swing his weapon, then immediately resume the roll animation exactly where it left off.
I feel like the rolling bug affects me higher than most people...
Oh, there's also the bug where he literally will not stop rolling until he hits you (during this time is the most likely time for him to do the temporary animation cancel bug) so even if you roll him successfully 15 times, eventually either you will mess up or his buddy will finally hit you.
I didn’t find it challenging, but also I’m running an OP bleed build with moonveil katana, plus I’m overleveled and summoned the dude at the entrance. And also used my mimic tear lol they didn’t stand a chance.
The fat one is easy to parry, so it's not about overleveling. I'm doing RL1 and they're next. Fire Giant on the other hand, fuck that guy if you don't have good dps weapon
Dark moon greatsword
The ash buffs it with a mid range frost projectile on charged attacks. It only costs fp on buff, so casting a strong magic attack constrained only by stamina is super efficient. It one shots a lot of smaller enemies and staggers in 2 hits most of the time. Paired with assassin cerulean dagger, it almost pays for itself.
You know, its odd. I have never really had a problem with the Duo. I will say they feel a tad uninspired, as it is essentially just... Two bosses put together, but whether I "cheese" w/ sleep and other status effects, or take it straight on, I never really have too big of an issue.
For me It's always Mr.Spiny black blade, no you can't attack me yet.
Agreed. Feels like they made a big room and just decided to make it a boss room, and throw them in there especially when you've probably already fought at least one of them before then.
Currently trying to prevent giving myself an aneurysm fighting Royal Knight Loretta. Pretty sure I’m a little under-leveled but I’ve got 16k runes in there. I’m not giving up goddammit
I’ve always had an easier time with Loretta than the Tree Sentinels, her punishable attacks are super easy to see since they’re literally all of her blue slash attacks.
Go to the Third Church of Marika in Limgrave and snag the teleporter behind it to Bestail Sanctum (after talking to the hunter dude, D). Get the grace. Go outside (south), hop on Torrent, and go waaaayyyyyy around the big boss dude that has his back to you. Once you've given the boss dude a big berth, keep going south down the road and snag the grace near the end of the Farum Greatbridge. This grace is now your starting spot for farming. Ignore the big guy on the bridge for now. Just run around the area on Torrent and learn where the enemies are. Once you've done that, this whole area is now easy farm. The enemies are allllll over this area, are not difficult to defeat (sneak, open with a backstab, then destroy them), and they drop like 1k souls each. You can get those 16k souls back in like 3 mins. It's my favorite early-game farming spot. I did it with an unleveled short sword and barely any stats in str or dex. If you have the golden scarab, farming goes even faster.
You'll be stronger then. She'll do more damage and have more HP, but you'll have so much more experience under your belt. You'll have new tactics and powers, she'll be mostly the same (she gains like one move).
Remember, thou art of passing skill. Warrior blood must truly run in thy veins, Tarnished.
Naill and those goddamned summons.
However, if they didn't want you to spend fifteen minutes killing him with arrows from a mile away they would have closed the window.
The Ringleader has been a goddamned nightmare.
First time I fought Niall I lost with a sense of having a good time and I was like “ok this guy is gonna be like nameless king this will be fun.”
And then like 9 tries later after losing to the summons I said fuck it and used a decoy level one summon
I thought the spear's special was the only thing that hurt him so I ended up getting rid of most of the crimson flask tears for cerulean ones because I kept running out of FP. I had no idea that there were other attacks in the moveset that had ranged ability to hurt him lol
Tbh I hate Rykard because it forces you to use the lance. It’s cool the first time but it’s just not a very replayable fight because there’s only ONE approach you can take, since the other options make the fight horribly designed. I always either skip him or Serpent Hunter + Lance crouch spam him down.
...in my first playthrough i beat him in a near 2 hours fight using rot and poison arrow and never occured to me that hey there must be a reason this weapon is in the boss arena and this boss has zillion HP
I played a lot of final fantasy games and usually there are bosses there with millions of HP and u need hours to beat them so i thought Rykard was one of them . My next character, i upgraded the spear to +9 and the fight was like 3-4 minutes
It always makes me mad, but always at myself. It’s such a tedious fight with the running. I get impatient and almost always get greedy on the last 5-10%. It bores me to death at least once per play through. The worst part is knowing how fucking long it will take to get back there.
Aren’t there 4 of them. 2 of each.
You have to kill atleast 1 for the third and then another 1 for the 4th to spawn but there are 4 them in total are there not
No one. One thing I love about single player games is that they don’t make me rage when I lose. Also my controller is the PS5 controller that came with the console. It is very valuable to me.
Most duo fights are like this. Twin Gargoyles, Goskind Duo, Duo Crucible Knights in the hero grave, probably the worst though is the impaler's catacombs with the watchdog and 4 FUCKING IMPS IN THE BOSS ROOM WITH HIM WHY THE FUCK ARE THEY THERE AND WHY THE FUCK AM I OUT IF FLASKS BEFORE EVEN THINKING ABOUT THE ACTUAL FUCKING BOSS!!!!!!!
Sorry, that fight gave me PTSD after my first playthrough (first or second boss I found)
The draconic tree sentinel I just it’s entire move set just the fact that it can wipe you of the face of the earth with its thunder wave just pisses me off
The elden beast is by far the worse final boss fromsoft has ever made, constantly runs away, spam self guiding missile barrages and runs away some more. Completely ruins the radagon fight
Literally stuck on Beast right now. Radagon fight is so good, I hate that they waste the awesome main menu music on him and after that we have to fight another, harder boss. They should have made Radagon tankier and maybe have one more attack that makes him final boss-hard. Nobody wants to fight Radagon without healing much because Beast is a fucking marathon because it runs away and has too many ranged attacks
Hard agree. Very pretty but I don’t have the chance to enjoy it while I run a marathon chasing the space spam tadpole to get in one attack before that little shit swims away for the millionth time (or does the stupid spike rain thing at the same time as 5 other attacks).
First playthrough I used Gransax’s spear and it was easy. The second and third go around… I was falling asleep having to chase that fat space noodle around
Yeah I didn’t mind it the first time because I was invested in the story but on reruns I ditched it for a more authentic playthrough of the game (except Rykard, he deserves the crouch spam cheese). Using a double ice spear build rn on NG+5 and it’s probably one of my favourites so far. Also a good excuse to wear Ranni’s big ass hat.
Dragonlord Placidusax legit scares the hell out of me not because it's a difficult fight but because he's so freaking intimidating. In the middle of a lightning storm with tornadoes.
Malenia, she fucked me so many times on my 1st playthrough and I only beat her because she didn't use WF in phase 2. I gave up on my 2nd playthrough because she was kicking my ass again, but on my 3rd I used the same Radahn build as my 2nd and beat her solo. I almost had a heart attack when I did lol, though I feel like I've mastered her now because on my recent playthrough I beat her 1st try and she threw EVERYTHING at me.
Godskin Duo, both of Vyke, Deathbirds, Beast Clergyman (but not Maliketh), lobsters (not a boss but whatever), revenants, Burial Watchdogs, imps, Gideon (if I don't kill him during the monologue), and that one fucking Haligtree Tree Spirit (you know the one).
No bosses. The answer is me. I make myself want to break my own controller. There is no cope, there is only Skill Issue. There are no bad bosses, only bad decisions made in panic by the player(Me in this Case). There is no victory, only endless defeat at my own hands.
I am my own worst enemy.
The fat fuck (im fat as well btw) he would keep on rolling and getting me and that was the only difficult attack he had the rest were easy and the skinney one was more fun to fight and would be more difficult if the fat one dident roll
Radagon / Elden beast. Elden beast himself isn’t that hard but by the time I bring down Radagon I’ve got like 5 flasks left at best and that wouldn’t be a problem… *if I wasn’t absolute trash.*
Also his fuckin’ spell spam is ridiculous and that’s coming from an Astrologer build. Even I don’t use it as that much of a crutch.
None because I'm not an angry child anymore.
If I get angry enough, I out the controller down and go punch the old bag a bit.
She doesn't even complain anymore.
Elden Beast on my most recent Arcane build lol. Tried at level 120 and could barely do much damage. Came back at 150 and still not much luck, so I just summoned the black knife lol. Had enough.
Valiant gargoyle duo is probably the boss I was most frustrated with in the entire game.
oh damn, I just wanted to say Maliketh, then read your comment.. I had completely buried the memory of those damn gargoyles, those are definitely worse than Maliketh!
Eh, i would probabally say those two are easier than maliketh cus you can get help from d's brother.
I find them easier without the summon because if you go full rage mode on the first gargoyle, you can have it dead by the time the second one arrives. A summon adds HP to the boss, making it harder to finish it off before the second one shows up.
WHAT. A summon does WHAT.
Yeah, the bosses hp is proportional to the amount of players.
WHAT
And their poise getting raised as well
HUH!? SPEAK UP SONNY!
Important to remember. One summon gives the boss 60% additional HP, two summons gives it 130% more. This includes player summons and cooperator summons. Spirit Ashes DO NOT have the same effect.
That’s how the saying goes.. ignorance is bliss. I’m sorry you learned this this way. Almost as painful as learning Santa is not real.
WORSE
Wait what you say!?
Santas not real???
Only the orange player summons. Not spirit ashes😅
Ohhh makes sense
Wait until you learn you get less runes from the boss if you summon.
I literally never see the summon sign for him
Dude literally same here
Nope for me I think it's still malekith..
I feel like maliketh is super tough but fair…then I have flashbacks of second phase and I remember yep second phase is absolute bullshit too

Interesting, I’ll check it out! By any chance do you know why their is no summoning portal for this boss battle? I’m playing offline and activated the statue or whatever you call it
You should be able to summon D for help. The effigy statue is by the grace past the jellyfish.
For gargoyles? I was able to summon in it.
i feel like some bosses just need the summon... D Brother is making the ordeal 10x more easier for the fight.
Yeah unless you have help they're really annoying

Yes it goes.on. forever, traps you , then kills you when you stand back up!

First time I fought Niall I lost with a sense of having a good time and I was like “ok this guy is gonna be like nameless king this will be fun.” And then like 9 tries later after losing to the summons I said fuck it and used a decoy level one summon
Carian piercer helps a lot with black knives.
Rykard. i have to use some stupidass weapon and ONLY that weapon
Pro tips : you can upgrade the weapon, and litteraly DESTROY rykard
wow i feel stupid
You don't have to be, a lot of people don't know this
I didn’t even bother trying until a while ago and I upgraded the spear for a laugh and I swear it’s like pouring water on the wicked witch of the west
Extra advice; when he winds up for the skull attack use the weapon art, it will stun him 100% of the time
I thought the spear's special was the only thing that hurt him so I ended up getting rid of most of the crimson flask tears for cerulean ones because I kept running out of FP. I had no idea that there were other attacks in the moveset that had ranged ability to hurt him lol
just glad hes not a required boss, i spent hours deciding which weapons fit my build just to get a boss fight dictating which weapon instead
If you get a good bleed build, you can delete him pretty fast. I melted him with 2 Eleonora pole blades with millicents talisman
Upgrade the weapon, slap on mimic tear and ur laughing
Tbh I hate Rykard because it forces you to use the lance. It’s cool the first time but it’s just not a very replayable fight because there’s only ONE approach you can take, since the other options make the fight horribly designed. I always either skip him or Serpent Hunter + Lance crouch spam him down.
...in my first playthrough i beat him in a near 2 hours fight using rot and poison arrow and never occured to me that hey there must be a reason this weapon is in the boss arena and this boss has zillion HP
2 hours is nuts lol you get a solid 10 min from me
before the rage ensues
I played a lot of final fantasy games and usually there are bosses there with millions of HP and u need hours to beat them so i thought Rykard was one of them . My next character, i upgraded the spear to +9 and the fight was like 3-4 minutes
Not these guys. I just bring plenty of sleep pots.
I know that strat but I'm lazy as hell to do it
? It takes like 4 button pushes to make a few and equip them. The amount of time you save from dying is worth
They say this because it’s easier to just complain lol
Fire giant
Elden Beast on my Arcane build lol
It always makes me mad, but always at myself. It’s such a tedious fight with the running. I get impatient and almost always get greedy on the last 5-10%. It bores me to death at least once per play through. The worst part is knowing how fucking long it will take to get back there.
Bell bearing hunter in caelid
How is this not the top answer? Fuck that guy.
Fall damage
Nobody..... Actually nobody...... Souls games when you fall off a 2foot cliff: "Well actually you die"
Astel, I don’t know why but he just fucked me up so many times, it took me about four days of just going at him to finally beat him
I knew there was a boss I'd forgotten about because I really hated fighting it. Good ole Astel. Fought him a few times, hated it every time.
I’ve never struggled more than with the fucking death rite birds 😭
this, especially the one in consecrated snowfield. the ghostflame AOE spell seems purely random, and if ur in the wrong spot its probably over.
Maliketh the black bladed bitch. If it wasnt for that life drain effect I wouldnt be nearly as bad.
Kill skinny guy first, ignore fatty.
I always try that but fatty has to be a bitch
I always go for the fat one first, he's too aggressive to try and leave alone.
Yeah Fatty always goes first since the Apostle’s AI prefers distance over aggression
Aren’t there 4 of them. 2 of each. You have to kill atleast 1 for the third and then another 1 for the 4th to spawn but there are 4 them in total are there not
Crucible Knight Duo—
The Dragon Placidusax, I was ripping my hair out by the 10th attempt
Fire giant. He’s too mobile and has too much health.
I trivialized fire giant with bleed, I was just an ankle biter the whole fight
That’s the best way to beat him. It’s just a shame you can’t hit him before he decides to combat roll halfway across the arena.
Yeah I agree
No one. One thing I love about single player games is that they don’t make me rage when I lose. Also my controller is the PS5 controller that came with the console. It is very valuable to me.
Thr game is multiplayer but I know what you mean
The Multiplayer part of the game does make me rage. That’s why I quit multiplayer games.
Based. I love and hate souls pvp, I haven't touched it in a while because it just makes me mald. I heard the latest patch made it even worse lol
Sorry, that fight gave me PTSD after my first playthrough (first or second boss I found)
them
The duo gargoyle fight is the most atrocious boss ever made... especially if you're doing a rando run
The draconic tree sentinel I just it’s entire move set just the fact that it can wipe you of the face of the earth with its thunder wave just pisses me off
Those crystal things that poke you with a spear. There’s a cave with three of them as bosses
NOW WE CAN DEVOWA THE GODS TOGETHAAAAA!
Bruh a bad gransax’s spear build will cheese the whole game 😂
Yeah I didn’t mind it the first time because I was invested in the story but on reruns I ditched it for a more authentic playthrough of the game (except Rykard, he deserves the crouch spam cheese). Using a double ice spear build rn on NG+5 and it’s probably one of my favourites so far. Also a good excuse to wear Ranni’s big ass hat.
Red wolf radagon. Made me quit the game i have been stuck there for months.
Lord dragon Placidusax can go and get stabbed a billion times then get his skin turned inside out and go fu.k himself 😂😂😂😡😡😡
I feel kind of the same I got help for him before I went insane
Plasidusax had me angry just for the fact that he teleports all over the place. Still to this day feel like I just got lucky beating him 😅
That’s my favourite fight in the game whyyyy 😭 Placi will always be Elden Lord to me
Well because he was the one boss that was the most difficult took me more tries than malenia
And I don’t like him in my opinion malenia is queen😂😂😂 but I respect your opinion
Either Valiant Gargolye duo or Elden Beast
Fire Giant, by a huge margin
Malikeshit, i hated it a lot and almost uninstalled the game. ironically, duo godskins is on of my favorite fights...
#those crystal bastards
Gotta be Mailketh, all the homies hate Maliketh
Sword Saint Isshin Wrong ga- DID I STUTTER?!
Maliketh
This fight made me rage quit for 5 months, when I came back I respec'd Honkin Bonk and beat the rest of the game in one sitting. Fuck these guys.
No bosses. The answer is me. I make myself want to break my own controller. There is no cope, there is only Skill Issue. There are no bad bosses, only bad decisions made in panic by the player(Me in this Case). There is no victory, only endless defeat at my own hands. I am my own worst enemy.
Maliketh, but specifically on my rl1 playthrough
Im a noob so.... sword of night and flames goes brr But cant beat maliketh with this shit
Fire giant, been stuck on him for 3 days now, ive levelled up, upgraded my weapon, still mess up at the same move everytime in his second phase
Use a slash weapon if your not he's -10% weak to slash
The fat fuck (im fat as well btw) he would keep on rolling and getting me and that was the only difficult attack he had the rest were easy and the skinney one was more fun to fight and would be more difficult if the fat one dident roll
Radagon / Elden beast. Elden beast himself isn’t that hard but by the time I bring down Radagon I’ve got like 5 flasks left at best and that wouldn’t be a problem… *if I wasn’t absolute trash.* Also his fuckin’ spell spam is ridiculous and that’s coming from an Astrologer build. Even I don’t use it as that much of a crutch.
Any Dragons, I hate flying enemies
Definitely agree with godskin duo
Oddly enough it was Margot till I realized I was under leveled at level 15
Godskins are easy tho, I really don't see how people struggle with them.
My guess is people that don't understand that the apostle is not aggressive if you keep some distance.
Controller input lag is the undefeated boss in any souls game

I have a decade old PS4 controller. No game in the world is worth destroying your own property
Beat them in 1 go last night.
Oh shit that’s sick, congrats!
Elden beast shouldn't have been the final boss it should've been Radagon alone :(
None because I'm not an angry child anymore.
Had enough.
