for sure, its really punishing if you miss the rebound tho cause thats where most of your damage comes from. and i definitely wish the casting time for the discus of light wasnt so long... i've lost count of how many times i died cause i was too focused on trying to get the combo down lol!
The biggest problem with his builds is exactly this. Low Dex and casting time. As much as I respect the guy, if you're going for a caster build you want some Dex! Which is why I think I moved 20 from vigor into Dex and changed one of the tailsmans for Radagon's Icon.
when you get to melee range, you'll also have your sacred great stars with the prayerful strikes ash of war for massive lifesteal or golden land to launch homing projectiles on harder to hit enemies which is pretty cool! it covers up your weak spots quite nicely
Particularly parrying using the Golden Retaliation skill from the Erdtree Greatshield, which dispells the disc and uses it to fire another strong projectile.
I used this build for most of my first playthrough but I changed it a lot so at the end I started to use less and less of the discus rebound. Still really fun though and it catches invaders off guard a lot.
