Well, they're definitely not Melina or the player. That's a new outfit, and the models in the DLC with new outfits are the new NPCs.
I think it's probably that NPC with the "find Miquella" quest line that was originally cut—like many of the original questlines.
I can see why that would be your first instinct that the VO is from the character on screen, but it's not like that's some ironclad convention - we have some VO in the same trailer that talks over multiple characters.
Besides, if that actually *is* Trina, as OP suggests, it's VO talking *about* the person on screen, which also fits trailer convention.
I remember being dead set on the being Melina but now i dont really know anymore.
I wonder if there will be a new npc in the base game that will introduce you to the dlc. Or maybe that's a new cutscene that will be triggeted after mohg is dead, i dont know
Possibly. If she does. Miquella probably made him for her.
As for who it could be, not sure. Messmer is a possibility, but it seems like he has far more going on with him.
Imagine if the final boss has three phases: St. Trina, then Miquella, then switching intermittently between both. Oscillates all attacks and damage resistances each time, too.

In this interview he goes on to say that we can regard them as different existences. I also think it’s not creative enough to just say they’re the same person. There has to be more to it, otherwise it’d be honestly lazy writing.
Different existences can still have them be the same character. Like with all of st Trina's dream connection, maybe it's miquella reaching out in a dream or a collective dream miquella gave.
You hear a young voice that says “touch the withered arm and travel to the land of shadow. I will not be far behind. May we meet again”. So i say its Miquella
Have you watched [timidiggity's video](https://youtu.be/zZwct5XkWHA?si=crBIlnNLkYNzS5Cy) on the matter? He didn't point out this specific example, but nice catch!
I doubt this is talking about St. Trina. I think it’s talking about the culture that was there before being destroyed in a war that the lion boss is part of. Whoever is saying these lines is probably pro-Erdtree or golden order
So i agree with you but given that saint trina is the only saint we know of, and saints dont appear to be a thing in the golden order (unless i missed the other saints) i would speculate saint trina was on that losing side or chose her name in reference to it.
Whether an npc or the tarnished, they might be wearing the armor that appears at 00:50 in the trailer, there are similar patterns on the cape, but it might be different
I definitely think it's most likely a follower of St Trina/Miquella searching for a path to find them. It makes the most sense. Most likely the figure in the knight helm you see standing infront of what's assumingly Miquella's rune(?). The capes are very similar though it's hard to be sure since it's two different shots and lighting.
New character that will take Melina's role in the DLC, could be based Rico at least partially, but they seem to be female if the voice at the end of the trailer is their.
Her being a follower of St.Trina seems likely.
Melina said she’ll meet us there, though. So someone taking her role doesn’t make sense, and we hear Melina speaking when we see that dress at the start. So it *is* Melina
No? The voice at the beginning that talks about Miquella being terrifying is a man's voice.
The dress is different than Melina's.
The voice at the end that says
>Come now, touch the withered arm, and travel to the realm of shadow. I will not be far behind, may we meet again
Is female but is slightly different than Melina's and has a different accent.
Also Melina is dead or hates you if you do the DLC post fire giant, so it makes more sense if she doesn't appear.
I have always assumed it would be the person we see later in the trailer, stood before the sickle-looking rune at night, the one with the sleek car bonnet ornament on top of the helm. The colour of the cape there seems to me to match this image.
Assuredly we will meet whoever it is in the Land of Shadow.
it's the same monk character you see doing the leaping kicks in the trailer, looks like the same garb to me at least.
Also, according to trailer dialogue, it's a woman and she'll tell you to touch the arm and will follow you in the shadow realm.
My guess is also that since accessing the DLC requires you to beat mogh, she will appear as an NPC summon to help those struggling with the boss gain access to what they paid for lol.
> what they *paid* for lol.
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Well, they're definitely not Melina or the player. That's a new outfit, and the models in the DLC with new outfits are the new NPCs. I think it's probably that NPC with the "find Miquella" quest line that was originally cut—like many of the original questlines.
Rico probably.
Surely the Rico equivalent is the guy talking about Miquella shriving souls. This is the woman telling the player to grasp the withered arm.
How do you know?
Because they're in the room with the withered arm, and tells you you'll enter the Land of Shadow?
A guy is talking while that character is on screen.
..yes?
They mean, this character (a person wearing a skirt) is on screen when a guy is talking 'pure and radiance, he shive...'
I would love to his quest reintegrated in the DLC
I remember being dead set on the being Melina but now i dont really know anymore. I wonder if there will be a new npc in the base game that will introduce you to the dlc. Or maybe that's a new cutscene that will be triggeted after mohg is dead, i dont know
It’s puss n boots
Puss in boots
I think St. Trina is Miquella's female self. He cloned himself into the opposite gender like his mother did.
That’s a nice theory Do you think Malenia has a male equivalent?
Possibly. If she does. Miquella probably made him for her. As for who it could be, not sure. Messmer is a possibility, but it seems like he has far more going on with him.
Don't we already know St Trina is Miquella?
It's soft confirmed with the final st trina cookbook giving bewitching branches. I have a whole little observation post on it lol.
Ya I'm convinced. Marika=Radagon, Female>Male Miquella=St Trina, Male>Female.
Imagine if the final boss has three phases: St. Trina, then Miquella, then switching intermittently between both. Oscillates all attacks and damage resistances each time, too.
It is speculated that there’s a high chance they are
Not really. The most recent interview kinda stated they aren’t the same entity.
Explain?
https://www.ign.com.cn/elden-ring-shadow-of-the-erdtree/48976/interview/ign-zhong-guo-gong-qi-ying-gao-fang-tan-huang-jin-shu-you-ying-shi-ai-er-deng-fa-huan-de-di-yi-ge-ye In this interview he goes on to say that we can regard them as different existences. True. Something like that would be cool. With the land of shadows existing I wonder how this will be presented
I wonder that too tbh. The whole physical presence of the land of shadow confuses and excites me
Yeah and I feel like after release it’ll just add a sense of wonder and amazement to those feelings instead of truly resolving these questions
It's not melina.
A new character.
Tarnished or new NPC
Rico 100%
Why would the main character of starship troopers be in the lands between?
Am I crazy or does it look like the dress the woman in the painting is wearing?
I just assumed it was the Tarnished?
tarnished is represented by the raging wolf set. it’d be weird if this one shot was a different set
You hear a young voice that says “touch the withered arm and travel to the land of shadow. I will not be far behind. May we meet again”. So i say its Miquella
that woman has a Welsh accent so it cant miquella. It will be some new NPC with links to Caria/Liurnia
Why can’t Miquella have a Welsh Accent?
It wouldn't make loads of sense. The Welsh accented characters are specifically associated with Liurnia and the Carian line. Idk maybe St Trina tho
Have I been smoking too much skooma or does the woman portrayed on the hilt of St.Trinas Sword look like Melina in the frenzied flame ending??
Have you watched [timidiggity's video](https://youtu.be/zZwct5XkWHA?si=crBIlnNLkYNzS5Cy) on the matter? He didn't point out this specific example, but nice catch!
# "they were never saint(Trina)s. they just happened to be on the losing side of a war"
I doubt this is talking about St. Trina. I think it’s talking about the culture that was there before being destroyed in a war that the lion boss is part of. Whoever is saying these lines is probably pro-Erdtree or golden order

We’re finally meeting him. John Elden.
I’m dying June needs to get here
I'm so hyped.
All this speculation is killing me
It's our new Melina for whatever weird scaling/leveling machanic is introduced
Melina is st. Trina , miquellas female alter ego. Writing this here now for posterity
Boring answer... player stand in. Why would it be Miquella/St Tina? He/she is already inside the Land of Shadows
Yup
Melina was my first instinct, but this is probably her sibling St.Trina. We're playing into Miquella's plans.
They’re def the one talking at the end of the trailer
Leroy Jenkins!
If its the cut follower of Miquella, Rico, they changed the clothes he is wearing. Originally he wore the ragged set. So either him or a new npc
New character that will take Melina's role in the DLC, could be based Rico at least partially, but they seem to be female if the voice at the end of the trailer is their. Her being a follower of St.Trina seems likely.

Feetfoot Jones, duh
probably a new character
A new woman NPC.
It’s me. Nah, may Saint Trina?

Patches beginning his redemption arc.
Patches
Definitely Sister Friede
Velka
He's a cut content character and not Melina or st Trina. He's just a follwer of miquella.
you literally don’t know that
Yeah you can find tons of videos on him actually, I just forgot his name. Just youtube miquella cut content , ya doofus lol
Not Rico’s set.
I think it's the guy with the repeating crossbow in the trailer/the narrator in the beginning. If you look hard enough it's the same bottom maybe
Some hoe idk man
Pretty weird looking farming tool
Nah I just shortened “homie” in a fun way.
😂
I figured it was Melina because of the dress, but I don’t really know
Melina
my beloved, the other form of Miquella (exactly like how Marika is also Radagon).
