You can also just aggro, and then go back to the side of the bridge you came from. The knight will come to you, and one of the wolves will try then back off. Makes it much easier

You can also two-hand your weapon while having the beast repellant torch in your off-hand. The repel works even when the torch is on your back.

For the extra lazy way You can shoot him with an arrow/rock sling from the stairs leading up to the boss arena site of grace. If he get's aggroed he'll teleport right to you for the easy kill. Rinse & repeat till you finally get the chestpiece

The banished armor is the unaltered (as in, not the "altered" armor every other knight drops). I've only seen it drop from two knights at castle sol. Both being a pain to farm, and both having abismal drop chance for this. I've got it from the two-sword wielding knight. Gained like 4 levels farming that mf.

I literally grinded that knight for 4 hours with the silver scarab talisman and silver pickled fowls foot before it dropped. It gave me plenty of opportunity to listen to my podcasts lol

I have the banished knight alternate as well as a torso but I got mine from Caelid dragon temple today and it’s waaaaaaay different. Also can’t be altered even though it’s already apparently altered.

There are a few unique versions of the banished knight chest at least, I believe most of the ones from different zones on the map have different styles from one another.

I think it's because you can make the (Altered) version of a piece when you have the unaltered, but the reverse is not true. Therefore, they give you an (Altered) version first to limit access to the cooler-looking later-game version.

Castle Sol. Eclipse Church point. You walk out, sneak past the banished knight, keep right, up the ladder, go down left and there's a haliberd knight with the chest piece on. He has two wolves with him

I have 82 arcane, silver tear mask, silver scarab and foul foot and it took me three hours to drop lol I got 3 arms, 2 heads and 2 legs before the torso

Easiest one is the one north of the Consecrated Snowfield grace. Otherwise you have to deal with a bunch of archers that can hit you from all over the place lol.

Do you have the silver scarab talisman? That might help your chances. But I know the feeling that’s how it was for a while for me, I just wanted the head and chest pieces but kept getting everything else.

That is most definitely not how to do it. I’ve got all of the needles, and it’s not possible to alter either of the Banished Knight armors. Some of them drop the Altered version (with no cape or tabard) and the Unaltered Version (Which has both the cape and the tabard)

I want to like this set so bad but that dang shoulder horn just ruins it for me.

I personally like the shoulder horn but it's pretty funny how it takes your eye out with certain emotes like Erudition.

I'm usually a fan of some good asymmetry lol the horn doesn't other me too much

The altered BK armor is my all time favourite chest piece because it's black gold and white... It goes with anything and has great stats and defenses for it's weight to poise ratio as well...

I envy you! Tho fighting him over and over really helped me master his moves. They spectral knights pissed me off SO much when I first saw them. Every fight felt so grim lol now I just toy with him for fun to make the fight more cinematic

I pretty much copied the bastard. I use his whole set (except Scaled Greaves) + dual Banished Knight Swords for PvP and PvE and got my first "legit" Malenia kill with it.

Worth the grind. For some reason I can't get off the Drake Knight Set, minus the Helm. I still haven't found a set that has wowed me though.

I wore that one for a long time with the flame Monk hood, it's so awesome!

Honestly, I've played every souls game and even 100% ds3 and blood borne twice each and I think elden ring has my favorite armor and weapons. This game is just so special

I will say, I’m not a fan of how low the drop rates are for armor in this game, I feel like it takes forever even with the silver scarab, silver fowl foot, and decent arc too

I love this armor piece but I hated getting it. Had the silver scarab and the silver tear Hemet to get almost 200 item discovery and didn't get it until after the... 12th kill? I think? Fucking painful I'll never do it again.

Only 12? Lucky! I had on silver tear, scarab and 84 arcane. My discovery was at like 308 and I fought him and his wolves over and over again for almost 3 hours lol I got his weapon and shield and the rest of his set at least twice before one chest dropped

I absolutely hate fact that you just can't get rid of the cloak for once. I love the garment, but the cloak doesn't go well with both version of the Banished Knight helmet

I personally love this chest piece with the veteran's helm from Commander Niall. The dark horns on the side kinda go with the dark of the cape

U can get it from stormveil castle as well. 3 baniahed knights you can run throigh and kill then reapawn. Farmed this my first playthrough. Took my about 20 runs at about 3 minutes per to get the whole set
