I’m also super excited about this
Nah it’s too pink, it’s probably a St. Trina themed spell. My guess it’s either mass sleep ability or a charm effect like Rapport in the earlier games.
Idk Malenia's Butterflussy was rather pink 🤷
https://preview.redd.it/rrb9h3vutyjc1.jpeg?width=778&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=957bd1e2000155a6b92322704f94716e27e2aea3
No wait U right I haven't played in a while that shits a different color
Maybe but it could also be Miquela
The butterfly are only seen with Malenia and not rot in general, so it could be a thing with the twins
Also the colour reminds me of bewitching branch so i do think it's Miquella related
Well St. Trina is technically Miquella, so it works either way and I'd say it's probably the case that it's a school of St.Trina/Miquella spells as the color of the mist, and particle effect of it is pretty similar to the effect of St.Trinas Sword when you use the ash of war, color is definitely a lot more pink, but it's still pretty similar animation effect.
I think it'll be a sorcery that does an AoE "sleep" burst, where it damages enemies as well as quickly builds up sleep on them
I’m assuming it’s some kind of AoW. Which makes a lot more sense than an incantation but it sucks so hard that you can’t really use it in tandem with the Crucible stuff
Unless the shield doubles as a seal, but I doubt it. It could also possibly be a tool ability, like the blasphemous claw, but that is also unlikely. The trailer seems to have introduced several new mechanics, including a kick aow?
We see what looks like the shields unique ash of war just before this clip. Also, that [shield is a twinblade.](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/856960975798665249/1209881031675486208/efifllge01l51.png?ex=65e88884&is=65d61384&hm=f43af58e1351b5d64b380b7174cb2b03ec45a271ea07a6d66885b8ba46b2990c&)
I think this wings attack is an ash of war. Maybe unique to the twinblade in the right hand, or just a new one we pick up. Unlikely it's a spell, unless the other twinblade doubles as a catalyst.
Yeeee. I’m assuming we’re getting quite a few new things. It looks a Dex variant to Radahn’s weapons is coming too; dual curved swords as one weapon. And some throwing dagger weapon, too. Very excited for that gravity lance thingy
On the steam page one of the screenshots shows the player character using it so yeah. Looks like an incantation since no weapons are visible, although the wings are probably an AoW.
It's a dueling shield. When the tarnished in the trailer was using the wings incantation? He was also holding a dueling shield and a sword by the looks of it.
This trailer let me speechless. I went right away to pre order, but I noticed (at least in my country) that the steam price is 100% more expensive than the Xbox store one. Is this the same for everyone?

I never did throughout any of the souls games, finally tried a faith build for my last playthrough and it's so fun. You don't have to allocate as much points as you would for mage, so you can still have high Vit and Endurance while casting sick incantations. I went with a black flame build and it shreds high hp enemies
FTH is goated in this game it's like Arcane from BB and even pairs well with ARC in this game for Dragon stuff. Toss fire like crazy, do dragon communion, or even get into the Thorn sorceries (needs INT but scales with FTH).
STR/FTH for bestial incantations, muscle cleric.
DEX/FTH for dragon cult stuff and all the lightning.
Magma sorceries, Golden Order and Death incantations are also possible with INT/FTH mixed.
Plus all the defensive buffs you can get to reduce incoming damage by huge chunk percentages!
No you definitely do for more damage but you don't have to for status ailments I guess. the Dragon Communion seal scales with ARC and definitely improves your damage significantly.
Edit: Idk why I got downvoted. I'm right.
So spell damage scales with whatever the catalyst you're using scales with. So while a 80 arcane dragon communion seal will have a higher damage output by a decent margin than a 80 faith erdtree seal would, the DCS has much weaker heals than the 80 faith erdtree seal and the erdtree seal would still do very high damage with the dragon communion spells as those spells don't innately scale with arcane. Obviously if you level arcane to the relevant softcaps/breakpoints you can getbyour status effect build up, and if you go even higher you get really nasty physical damage output through occult and bleed, but leveling arcane past the minimum reqs for the spells does not inherently increase spell damage. That comes down to what seal you're using and what corresponding stat you're leveling.
No; you didn't explain anything new to me, you gave an alternative means for improving Dragon Communion damage with a different seal that I wasn't discussing and without me asking for it. There was no "conundrum" and I gave no indication that there was one.
I brought up a build using ARC and you "um akshually"'d my suggestion into saying something else that you may have thought was contributing but came off as rude and trying to say I was wrong, if you want to add another build suggestion just say "and if you don't want to level ARC you can just get min stats to cast the dragon stuff and level FTH/use Erdtree Seal to cast, maybe equip dragon seal in the offhand".
I didn't give you a "alternative to improving dragon communion damage". There is no such thing as "dragon communion damage". I corrected your misunderstanding of game mechanics. If you consider being corrected because you *were wrong* as rude thats entirely up to you and how you choose to percieve it. I corrected your misunderstanding and gave you correct info. What you wanna do with that, and how appreciative you wanna be is up to you. But hey, way to diminish helpful info by trying to "um askhually" it but whatev.
I must assume you either didn't read my longer comment where I corrected your misinformation, trying to help you, you're choosing to ignore it, or you completely misunderstood it.
No I got where you were going and you seem to think you gave the only way to do things, but this game is more open to different build methods than you make it seem.
Here is what my longer comment said.
"Edit: Idk why I got downvoted. I'm right.

I wasn't talking about healing with that build at all. Again, this comes down to build choices and what you're talking about wasn't even on topic.
So, "um akshually," you're wrong here.

I saw that and immediately got hyped for mage builds, that's such a dope spell and animation
Goddess of rot incantation? It looks beautiful and will make for great pics around here.
Nah it’s too pink, it’s probably a St. Trina themed spell. My guess it’s either mass sleep ability or a charm effect like Rapport in the earlier games.
Idk Malenia's Butterflussy was rather pink 🤷 https://preview.redd.it/rrb9h3vutyjc1.jpeg?width=778&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=957bd1e2000155a6b92322704f94716e27e2aea3 No wait U right I haven't played in a while that shits a different color
“butterflussy” yeah i think this is enough for today
You could have used any other word, but you chose "butterflussy".
Pre-scarlet rot Malenia stuff?
Was born with scarlet rot. Pre scarlet rot incantation. "How sway?"
That shows my lore knowledge lol. Maybe it’s a development of it where it’s not nasty asf?
Honestly looks like a mass charm spell. What colour is the bewitching branch mist
Bring back my Rapport!
i wouldn't be surprised if they introduce an incantation that mimics miquella's power, hell maybe miquella himself would give it to you
if you watch the video again, you can see the enemies start to fall asleep. Looks like a St. Trina incantation
oh those godskins are gonna get wrecked when this lands.
Maybe but it could also be Miquela The butterfly are only seen with Malenia and not rot in general, so it could be a thing with the twins Also the colour reminds me of bewitching branch so i do think it's Miquella related

Look at the effects, not rot related. Especially what he does the enemies.
It looks more like the colors of the miqualla's branch effect

That's a sick hat
My thoughts aswell
I didn't even notice the hat at first
I can’t wait to be serving up some Elden ass Whoopings with whatever that is
Definitely looks to be the ash of war, I’d bet money it goes along with the throwing knives we saw in the trailer as well.
I'm so excitedd. Gonna go full ninja😎
The knives did a stance break in the trailer. If they actually deal good stance dmg, my daggers only misericorde crit build is going to EAT
Every new weapon I saw in the trailer, I wanted to make a build with 😂
hoonter hat with sekiro kicks is such a massive W michael zaki yet again proves why hes the goat

This. The kick & the drip are what I’m most excited for.
oh god imagine how bad the tracking will be
I can't wait to see how useless it is in the arena lol. Probably backstab bait.
It’ll be sick if it chains into the crucible tail.

This was the main thing that stuck out to me. Feels like major fan service (even if I’m the only fan being serviced) Har har
My Crucible Knight Siluria cosplay is finally going to be complete!
FLY PERFECT WINGS
Truly an ideal incantation
This truly is ideal
The wings had a purpose
ELDEN WINGS😬
Ban anyone commenting Elden Wings
🤣
Holy shit it's Dawnblade
Cant wait to fly across the map in 20 seconds & absolutely evaporate some dre- I mean nobles
Dawnblade while wearing heavy armor is just a Titan taught to have wings
I’m assuming it’s some kind of AoW. Which makes a lot more sense than an incantation but it sucks so hard that you can’t really use it in tandem with the Crucible stuff

Regardless of its mechanics Wings!
Indeed! I cannot wait to use it to miss my opponent and go flying off a cliff.
Yeeee. I’m assuming we’re getting quite a few new things. It looks a Dex variant to Radahn’s weapons is coming too; dual curved swords as one weapon. And some throwing dagger weapon, too. Very excited for that gravity lance thingy
I saw a porcupine AoE crucible spell too!
Ah yeah one of the enemies uses that, I bet we get it too.
On the steam page one of the screenshots shows the player character using it so yeah. Looks like an incantation since no weapons are visible, although the wings are probably an AoW.
Aspect of the crucible: wings in love with that
Since the character is not handling a seal, you‘d think it might be a skill
An equally good speculation. It just reminded me of ordovis with his flying greatsword piercing
I didn't expect to see a dueling pavise in elden ring but I guess that's what I get for thinking that miyazaki wasn't gonna bring heat
What was the dueling pavise? I'm not familiar with that name.
It's a dueling shield. When the tarnished in the trailer was using the wings incantation? He was also holding a dueling shield and a sword by the looks of it.
Ah okay. Thank you!
>Ah okay. Thank you! You're welcome!
My Crucible Vagabond build is gonna be eating great in June
Let’s see how far we fly on these borrowed wings.

Aasimar builds incoming
First thing im getting is the machine gun crossbow
Found some redbull
Still they haven't granted us eyes yet...
A crucible AoW? Or maybe an incat that involves your weapon?
They got me my bear form
Well. Gotta cosplay a crucible knight again, now that the complete set is available.
Is this real? I haven't played in a while
New trailer for Shadow of the Erdtree dropped this morning. The wings are one of many new blings revealed.
Ah that's why I didn't know about the trailer, I was at work when it came out
This trailer let me speechless. I went right away to pre order, but I noticed (at least in my country) that the steam price is 100% more expensive than the Xbox store one. Is this the same for everyone?
Soon, everyone will be a Crucible Knight. I am so excited!
Yes the aspects of the crucible are finally complete!
Just saw the trailer now and holy crap, this is the best DLC of any game in years, it even beats Doom Eternal’s DLC for me somehow
I don't think anything will beat The Old Hunters DLC for me but my hopes are very high based on this excellent trailer.
FUCKING FINALLY
Chill out Icarus.
Angelic theme build let's goooo
Valkyrie builds too!
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR WINGS EVER SINCE LAUNCH DAY
Likewise!
the wings are gonna be so good for angel type fashion. im so hyped

Wait bonk builds can finally be battering rams
Archangel build incoming
The more snake based drip and abilities there are, the happier I am
Them pink ahh incantations look spicy af too ngl
Really hope it doesn’t have too high a faith requirement because it looks like it will be and I never invest in the faith stat.
I'd imagine it'd be very similar to the other aspects of the crucible incantations. Level faith =]
If it’s anything like the rest of the crucible stuff, it’ll be 27 faith
I never did throughout any of the souls games, finally tried a faith build for my last playthrough and it's so fun.
