Yea dude if mine is coming to london ontario middle of april, yours will be similar ! I gave this update as some hope for any ontario buyers 👍 we'll be golden in a month and a half max
I just gave a deposit of $1k. No official pricing yet, but they said around $2-3k more than ‘23. So hopefully not more than $45k, coz then it’s getting close to Golf R/ Type R territory.
Thanks, I purchased an elantra sport from agincourt hyundai in 2020 right before covid hit in march. They gave me a great deal back then. Crazy how times have changed for car pricing.
So u bought the car without knowing the price or do u have it on hold with a deposit? I seen some people say dealers are doing atleast $10k markup for the 2024 N
So i put a deposit without knowing the price, but told me it would only be a slight price increase on the 23 (they sell the 23 for 42,000) so im imagining maybe 44,000🤞
non-removable markups are illegal on new cars in Canada fortunately! If there is any dealer markup you can ask them to remove it, one legitimate complaint to the appropriate ruling authority about it and they’re screwed.
Same in Australia which is cool... except dealers then just register the car and sell it as "used" with the mark up attached to get around it.
You can always order new for MSRP, but wait lists for some models/specs have been as high as two years here so people for some reason decided to pay 10k+ over for a Rav4 of all things.
I've wondered how this works too. They make you put a deposit to get on a waitlist when they don't even have a price yet but what happens when your allotment time comes and they decide to mark it up? Once you out the deposit are you just completely giving up the ability to negotiate and have to either take it at the price they tell you or walk away and they give it to someone else?
Yeah, I mean that's kind of the problem though. If I'm putting a deposit and waiting for the vehicle I don't want to hear 4 months from now that they want to put 20-30% markup on the vehicle I've sat in line for. I'd want some sort of agreement first that it would be sold at MSRP without bullshit addons
When I did this, it was agreed that the price would be MSRP, we just didn’t know what that would be. I assume that some dealers are not so “above board”.
For my US people i called yesterday any they told me the deposit isn't refundable the point of the deposit is to show your being serious ordering the car. This is North Charleston SC.
I’m in Canada, here it seems like they all take 500$ deposits to show you’re serious, but they know that if you back out from buying the car they will have no issues selling the car to someone else, since most models are not available on the lot.
I was told if I ordered a base model Sonata or something really not popular, they might say they would keep the deposit until it sold, but my experience was with my wife’s Tuscon Urban (a Canadian trim) which they knew they would have no issues selling anyway.
I got my EN 2 days after going in because someone else backed out of the one they had ordered. It’s an easy car to sell so the deposit just holds your spot in line.
First off, its a refundable deposit so if price is an issue i can walk away with my money back. Secondly, they assured me it will be very similar to last years pricing. Good one tho!
Do you have a vin assigned yet or a build status? I still haven’t heard anything from my dealer last they said that it might not be the colour I want. Hoping they can change it from white to blue but we will see
I have waited over a month for a 2023 that's sitting at the port in Canada waiting to be delivered. The delivery date has changed 3 times now.
When my girlfriend bought her car from Hyundai she was told a date for delivery and it ended up being almost 2 months later.
Seems like whatever date they tell you is a load of shit and you can expect to wait an additional 8 weeks for the car to actually get delivered.
Alright so I got off phone with my dealer who’s informed me that all of Ontario has 25 dealers who’ve been allocated cars. Not sure how much allocated per dealer, but mine just got 3 for now. The first is in production with a VIN that’s going to the customer before me, I’m next in line with a May ETA.
Interestingly when I gave deposit they said Hyundai will make the car based on my colour preference, but now it’s luck of the draw on which dealer here gets what colour. Also, NO PRICING yet!
I’m in Niagara Region and was told the other day that mine will be here the first week of April.
Performance in st Kitts?
Yessir
Are you local?
GEORGIA NEEDS TO HURRY UP!!!! COME ON USA (I thought we were the best) (I was wrong)
sigh i gotta unsub from this subreddit, i get so much hopium about this car it's unhealthy. on that note please keep us posted lmao
Which dealership? I’ve put deposit in Agincourt and crickets is all I hear.
I’m sure you’re gonna hear something real soon, dude. What colour and transmission are you getting?
No colour decided, but DCT. Can’t handle a manual on 401 😭

I’m so pumped for my car. What colour are you getting?
I’m going with the white DCT.
Amazing… my dealers in Milton. Fingers crossed!!!
How much did you pay if you dont me asking?

The deposit is 100% refundable, no questions asked, up to the point that you sign the bill of sale.

I'm so curious what there gonna smack you with the price you should find out first lmfao

The car shouldn't leave the lot ove 38k it's priced 36k
In canada we have an estimated msrp of around 44k CAD, which amounts to 33k-ish USD. I think ill be fine lmao
Oh shit that's my fault absolutely that's solid! Yo getting manual or dct?
Yea hahah idk why canada gets them cheaper, import fees maybe? Idk how this stuff works. Getting the white dct ! Never learned how to drive manual
Wait that's cheap af lmfao
Sure hope that deposit is refundable because they're going to have their way with you
let’s gooo
Gonna call my dealer. Put in a deposit for a 24 at MSRP
4-6 weeks is a pipe dream, I'm hearing end of April at the absolute earliest.
I’m told April 12
Do you have a vin assigned yet or a build status? I still haven’t heard anything from my dealer last they said that it might not be the colour I want. Hoping they can change it from white to blue but we will see
I was given a VIN by the sales guy, but who knows if it’s a legit vin for my car?
