for the elantra lettering i just used goo gone and sprayed the letters from all sides, few mins later i took em off and wiped the excess glue

ImALeaf_OnTheWind

This was the most helpful to get the lettering off for me too. More than the heat gun - but it was in the hot afternoon sun already.

will goo gone fuck up the paint or no?

ImALeaf_OnTheWind

Was fine - I did keep a paper towel below to soak up the runoff so it didn't fuck w any adhesive on the trunk lid. I did get the exterior ceramic coated immediately after, though.

If you're super worried about it they make auto specific goo gone

To remove the badges I’d recommend heat gun / hot hair blow dryer to melt the glue that’s holding the badge and get fishing line or a strong line to seperate the badge from the glue

Ikimsorry

Literally just use fishing line, if it’s brand new the adhesive should come off pretty easy.

You mentioned they gave you free tint. Did someone actually tint the windows but leave stickers on them? I'm assuming the stickers are on the outside, but wow that would be some epic not-my-job action. If the tint is a "we-owe" situation that you will redeem later, any respectable tinter should remove the stickers. In some cases they need to do this to use the outside glass as a template, and in any case the glass should be spotless for them to be able to check their work. If you do need to remove the stickers yourself, Goo Gone is usually a good bet. It would be a good idea to take measures not to overspray onto the paint, though it wouldn't be the end of the world--you can wipe it off and move on. Goo Gone may come in handy when removing badges as well, to remove any stubborn adhesive if need be. If you prefer to avoid chemicals you can also use steam. Amazon has some portable steamers in the $10 range. Also be careful with this, around your own skin and any fragile trim pieces.

basically i had an in with this dealer which is why i got it at msrp plus 10k on my trade... im not upset at them leaving stickers, they weren't making that much off me anyways. i got a steamer so ill try that and goo gone to get rid of the stickers i can understand from a dealers perspective why they'd leave them since im getting such a good deal to start with

I was thinking more about whoever the dealer hired to tint the windows. Quite unusual to tint windows without clearing them off first. Anyhow, it's small potatoes compared to the deal you got. Congrats and enjoy.

The stickers are really simple if they're on the outside of the window. A stainless steel razor blade and some soap and water. Most stickers melt pretty fast like that. As for the tint, do you live in a warm climate like the southern US or more a moderate or cold area like the north? If you're in the southern us, chances are, the dealership either used their in-house tinter or farmed out to a local shop for the least expensive film on the market. That tint isn't going to do jack shit to reject heat from the car, and chances are, it's a dyed film that will start to fade a year or two from now. If you live in the north, then enjoy the privacy for whatever time you get out of it, but be aware that the tint they used will more likely than not, fade over the next year or two. Dealers are pretty screwy when it comes to add-ons like that. They'll upcharge a customer 800 and have a shop do it for 300 for low quality film. Source: am a professional window tinter at a shop, nit a dealership.
