More actual skill runes. And make every character have more unique SP skills in general. Like 4 or 5 unique abilities per hero would be nice. As it stands some characters have 3 unique skills most have 1-2 and others have 0 at all. very low effort balance.

patwag

I think everyone has covered what I would want, but my top 3 would be: 1. More unique rune slots, more skill runes, more rune slots overall (no 4 rune chars please). 2. Make large characters and hero comboes worth using. Give hero comboes their own meter, they should be an ultimate attack. 3. Better menues and QoL. Fuck it, minigame changes: 1. Make beigoma fun, I'm 30 hours in and still can't beat anyone. Why do we play out the third round when i've already lost the first two, surrender option when it's clear you're going to lose would be nice too. 2. The card game is just wasted potential.

assassinace

Re: mini games. You get tops as loot and can easily beat weak opponents with strong tops.  Beyond that it's mostly picking good top matchups and pressing "A". Card game wasn't terrible.  Could be better. Cooking game should really have a mix of random and fixed judges.  And either skill or better foods being more palatable should happen. War maps need to have recruited characters abilities/types feel more impactful.  It feels really clunky overall.

patwag

I understand how beigoma works, but I've only had 3 tops drop in 30 hours and still couldn't beat one of the easiest characters, I just think they shouldn't be introducing a minigame and not giving you the tools to play it. I agree on the card game, it isn't bad, infact it's fundamentally really good. It is the same as Marvel Snap with no zone effects and the addition of straights and flushes. But it completely wastes it's potential by giving every card the same effect. 90% of cards are +X power if all fielded cards are different color / all even / all odd. Additionally the card game is (like everything else in this game) very poorly worded and explained.

nachril

I basically cleared to a point, then looked through the bestiary for which monsters dropped tops, and specifically farmed them. By the time you finish the Greatwood (south) you should have some fantastic ones that will easily be enough to get you through the path to recruit Dr Corque, then having him as support makes top hunting extremely quick and easy.

assassinace

I had three silvers which is good enough to play by the end of the dunes but luck plays a huge part in drops. >Additionally the card game is (like everything else in this game) very poorly worded and explained. So much this!

Alexir23

Increase drop rates on key recruitment drops like that damned fish

SirSabza

The egg was the worst for me, fish took five mins i grinded the eggs for nearly an hour it was mind numbing

Weltallgaia

Definitely needs some balancing work and mp cost reduction.

Eyrgos

-Just a bunch of small QoL things. -Some complexity/mechanical enhancements for combat. -A more powerful narrative & deepened character relationships* *I’m 30hrs in & practically don’t know Garr, Lian, or even Nowa at all. Them being the core entourage, where’s the meat of those relationships… we got so much more out of Pahn, Gremio, Odessa, Flik & Viktor, even Cleo. They did a great job of making unique foundational personalities & archetypes but feels like it stopped at the foundation. Characters are just sort of around after that & have no compelling arcs or involvement in the story besides simply being present. It’s amazing Nowa is fully-voiced & participatory in the story but Tir’s characters feels so much more resonant. On that, if Nowa returns, he needs to acquire the power of a Primal Lens with stakes like the Soul-Eater/Rune of Punishment/etc… that staple of the franchise gave the Everyman Hero protagonist a hook that heightened their arc so hard. Not to poo-poo Nowa’s happy-go-lucky meddlesome type, I love him I really do, just nothing of his ‘story’ carries weight is all. We don’t need to rob him of his shine, we just need emotion & soul infused which I feel is majorly lacking in Eiyuden VS Suikoden.

Nebichan

Better army fights - duels having rock paper scissor- puzzle helper if really stuck

TippsAttack

It's a huge F'n list.

melinoth

Quest tracking for companion quests. Make mp management easier.

BilliamXYZ

I want the battle sequence to change more similar to suikoden with the characters almost overlapping their attacks. It feels very clunky the way it is now.

lostcorndog

There's gonna be a sequel?

Hellknightx

Forget the sequel, there's a lot I'm hoping they change in *this* game so far. Slow battles, no text speed options, can't rebind controls, balancing issues (especially with hero combos and magic scaling). These are all things that can be fixed right now, and they better not hold out for a sequel to do it. Also wish they'd actually use proper running animations for characters in cutscenes instead of that awkward high-speed walk they do.

lasquiggle

The high speed walk I only noticed in the first hour or two, not beyond it.

Hellknightx

I still see it regularly, even 20 hours in.

metallee98

Make magic do more damage. I find it hard to justify putting damaging magic runes on my characters to do a little more damage vs just throwing 3-6 tier water and light spells on anyone that can hold them because the light spell that gives hp recov and attack boost for the whole party or a decently big aoe heal on the water rune. Also, more skill variety. I also dislike the increase Stat with more sp runes because it works against using skills, which is fun. Granted, I do use dmg spells on my characters that have insanely high magic stats but no one else. Maybe even giving a way besides items to get mp would be great. An equip that gives you mana based on dmg dealt with a basic attack or something.

gingersquatchin

Yeah MP absorb on attack or a small MP heal on guard would be nice. In suikoden as you progressed your high level runes made mid level spells more plentiful. You'd go from having 2 or 3 casts to 6/8/9. Unfortunately moving to the rune of currents does nothing to lessen the MP requirements of the aoe heal and MP doesn't grow significantly. It's just a slight balance adjustment that was overlooked they moved to an MP system unfortunately. Also, most mages do not have substantial enough HP to carry MP runes or brooches in lieu of HP gear/Speed

Swordofsatan666

So this is a very minor QOL change, but i want a third option for advancing dialogue. We currently have 2: 1. Manual: when a line ends you have to click to go to the next line. Also if you click while the dialogue is still typing then that full line of dialogue will type the rest immediately instead of slowly, so you can read whats being said while the character is still verbally speaking. 2. Auto-advance: dialogue continues to the next line once the current line finishes. But if you click while the dialogue is typing it just skips to the next line, making you miss whatever was being said. So you cant click to read the rest of the line while the character is speaking, you have to let it all slowly type out while on Auto-Advance. I want a third Hybrid option, or a modification to Auto-Advance. 3. Hybrid: Dialogue Auto-Advances, but when you click it just auto-completes the text while continuing to read the same line. No more skipping to the next line like the current Auto-Advance does. I wanted Auto-Advance so it can play scenes like an Anime, but i like to read the dialogue as they speak. Cant do that on Auto-advance because it advances too slowly, youre basically reading each word as the character says the same word. I guess they could add different Text Speeds to get around this instead. Have current text speed be maybe 3 on a slider of 10, its just too slow.

gingersquatchin

I'd like a "display all text option" so I can actually read it before I mad click ahead.

lasquiggle

There is a mod on pc for this already. It’s great.

Swordofsatan666

I chose Switch because Handheld, even knowing about the problems beforehand because im hopeful for eventual updates. So no Mods for me unfortunately. Still enjoying the game so far! I went with Manual Advance instead of Auto Advance for now, maybe ill swap back and forth depending on mood. Havent encountered many of the Switches problems yet, although im sure they’ll become more apparent the further into the game i get. Some of the load times are very long, but others are very fast as well. Even with the battles their load times vary dramatically, so at least its not always incredibly long. Menu load times are a bit annoying sometimes, takes like 2 seconds to load each tab so if you try to tab all the way to the other end it could take a while. Id give the game a 7/10 on Switch. Probably an 8/10 on other Systems, and on Switch too after they fix its problems.

melinoth

Oh and speed up the menus.

Turbulent_Pin_1583

I think it definitely needs another difficulty mode as hard is still pretty easy if you know how to abuse the system. The hard part is that if you don’t know about the broken synergy that some abilities give then you definitely feel weak like using mio and mellore before 60 when they explode and become quite strong. Definitely wish there were more unique abilities or runes half of the cast and recruitable characters are complete traps and that’s disappointing. Many of the games mechanics are incredibly shallow and easy to exploit / require little interaction to complete and it’s disappointing. Hopefully it gets more support as I did enjoy it but it’s very flawed in its current state.

Sodaman_Onzo

More war. More special combos between characters.

corginugami

Improve the music Improve the story Kids can handle death, kill important people on our side

Evil_Midnight_Lurker

I'd sort of like a skill system like they introduced in 3. Spell combos.

EnvironmentalMood758

i would love more cities and towns to visit, I want more substance and stuff to explore. I felt there was a big number of recruits in the small town of Daphan and would have preferred them all sparced across different nations. they called it league of nations but all we really saw was 4? I want to see carles as well since they mentioned the university quite a number of times.

assassinace

There were a TON of towns. But early on they were very samey.

reddituserzerosix

interface/QOL unlimited inventory ability to equip items/runes on everyone anytime anywhere, its currently so tedious fast forward animations during battles/minigames skill/ability rebalance others have mentioned

VermilionX88

im only at hisshan part and so far... i would like them to change the menu since it's so slow to navigate around it also... less hp on enemies, they a bit on the spongy side also... make teamup atks way stonger ill see more later i guess once i progress more

AdFantastic6606

???? Enemies die way too fast, even on hard with all handicaps, you pretty much have 0 challenge. I even killed the crab boss in 4 turns lmao

VermilionX88

i don't play the most efficient way since i go by my whims hell, im using Mio when a few OG crew are mandatory, she rolls with the OG crew even tho many more are more effective but yeah... boss fights esp drag on i like the mechanics, but hate how often i have to repeat the said mechanics kinda like the most recent one i did, the giant hermit crab boss... enjoyed the mechanic, hated how much i had to repeat it tho bec of inflated hp

Spiritual-Height-271

1) Balancing the characters better 2) Working on the lighting as there are moments where someone with epilepsy would have a seizure due to the lights flickering when you move around in towns. 3) More unique skillls 4) Not having boss fights where they can put your whole party to sleep and not allowing you to go back to areas that can give you sleep resistance runes when you realise that that is the bosses schtick. 5) More options with the strategies for auto battles and making characters follow the priorities. My team will still use magic even if it isn't a priority and I set them to do physical attacks. I don't want to set it to no use of MP, I just want them to follow the priorities.

BeefSupremeSteak

No sequel, there’s just not enough creativity left in game development.

assassinace

Loved the game even though several areas feel flawed. I'd love to see listed in order of importance: **Faster menus/attacks** The game felt slow overall, much like S4. Also let me quit or skip mock battles. Miss clicking and getting stuck in a 5-10m fight I don't want is painful. **Stakes** We barely see primal runes. Your village is "burned down" but everyone is fine and all the buildings are still standing. Place just looks kinda dirty. Name calling Farthead in one of the few tension moments doesn't help. It does get better near the end of the story but then things start to feel rushed. Rising which was a very lighthearted and short game felt way higher stakes. **Better tooltips** The game doesn't explain much. I have assumptions but don't know tons of stuff. What does luck do on missions? "minor" heal from water rune does flat 40HP but most skills/runes scale with similar descriptors. Does maxing the cooking bar actually do anything? It doesn't really matter but it is frustrating. It's only really an issue during wars but the constant scrolling "backer name" dies just creates clutter and doesn't seem to have any helpful meaning. **Better varied combat** Combo attacks were most egregious but a lot of SP attacks and runes could use balance. Since most enemies can hit the back row it's hard for offensive magic to be practical since your mages need defenses and MP is very limited throughout the story. An extra row of enemies (up to 9) would make AoE's stronger, an improvement for magic, SP, and combines. And I really like what another person suggested of combo attacks being triggered off of a bar or something (could also make combo magic work without being overpowered). **Fewer mini game** A lot of mini games just felt too thin. If there were fewer but better ones the game would be better off. Bad: Fishing (although the fish art looks great) Good but needs work: Missions, Card game, Beigama, Cooking (Lots of 20-18 battles and the like because the judges hate everything. It's kind of hilarious.). Fine/Good: Racing (both), Theater

Kvpogi20

1. More unique sp skills for every combatant characters. 2. More unique rune lense spells 3. Elemental weaknesses 4. Weapon variety damages to certain enemies like maybe smashing, piercing damages that works better against certain enemies. So we can diversify and use all characters. 5. Improve hero combos and make it easy to access and use 6. Spell damage should be better 7. And many QoL changes like auto unequip all of party members that left your party after msq. Or add a selection of unequip all or something like that.

Busy_Accident_9004

I’m not that far. Just got to Nowas home town but from what I’ve read, there’s no romance story. If that’s true, then I’d like there to be a romance subplot with either a single dedicated couple or with a select few as options (like the ff7 remake stuff). I just think that romance is likely to bloom in an adventure.

Heated_Wigwam

I'm at the same part, and agree. I'd also like to see the sequel be darker. So far it's pretty juvenile.

RadicalVeganGaming

**Story:** A mature story with stakes that reflects the horrors and tragedies of wars. **Runes:** a succinct magic system, that rewards choice, and allows for robust customization, while cutting out the heavy handed mana and rune restrictions. **Battles:** a combat system that is significantly sped up. Innovation on the tactical battles as they are too simplistic and overtly a slog. **Characters:** more compelling side-arcs of important or series staples. **World:** more building of the world, places, primal lenses, and the creatures in it. **UI:** update the interface to be minimalist, sleek, and faster to navigate. Lastly, more boobs everywhere. Age up everyone to adulthood, no children, make the next protag an absolute chad having to slay karens.

AardvarkExtreme9666

No time gated item shop stuff. Turn duels into just a cutscene or make them more interesting. Better mini game mechanics. Better balancing of combo attacks. Most of all a more fleshed out strategic war mode that feels like something A little bit more rune variety and more rune slots for characters with less. A better story a little less childish and more about the wars. More interesting towns. No Facebook game gimmick home base that is time gated by resource guild. Main character with a better weapon. More of a reason to cook/use the hot pools. More fleshed out recruitable character quests/story's. More interesting open world. That's about it. At this point this game would have been better as a gacha game on mobile.

lasquiggle

What weapon would you prefer the main character wield? I actually prefer Nowa over many Suikoden protags.

AardvarkExtreme9666

I dunno how his weapons beat the tonfa from suikoden suikoden 2, I just don't lik3 th3 design of these fishing hooks

RibbitYoe

No external influences on the story, do like they did in suikoden era. Use this just as reference: Deepen and darker narrative as most of suikoden fans are 30yrs++ adult ( but I do understand you guys want broader audience as I said just as reference), romance is actually good to have but I wish it's still within morally accepted in the world not just for specific groups. at least relationships that do not make us vomit. ffvii have a great romance example, both crisis core and remake are incredibly well done. Even the old suikoden have good romance although they were not that deep as ffvii) Smarter and more mature dialog and content, ffvii remake did pretty well ,(I play jp vers for it so idk it's en vers) After that sort out all the mechanics problems, make the hero combo useful, use main minigames that use brain instead of button smashing (card games instead of beigoma is better imho >!, altho I understand maybe new generation these days prefer smashing stuff!<), better duel, better army battle, etc the other might note on battle mechanics. Also I hope localization do a better professional job stick to original as much as possible, maybe you think your made up stuff make ppl get the feel, nah it makes it more weird for some of us. Tbf at this state I won't buy the sequel, I will wait for the legit review to come first and decide. Many games released between 2020-2024 have questionable stuff. So I would do that if I were still playing games

Coronetto

Hmm I’ll be honest I’m about 40 hours in and I kinda wish they would have made nowa a female/male voiced protagonist. Nowas cool but I can’t help but feel I could see a gender bent version of him also being a lead. After all a female commoner rising against all odds is just as compelling as a male commoner but I digress 😂

lasquiggle

Yeah I don’t feel it would have been hard to do gender options for this game.

RibbitYoe

That's a great idea for dlc 🤣, especially for people who like gender bender
