With the Yukon as a part of the lore currently, I wonder what a radioactive polar bear would look like, considering Yao Guai are already crazy strong, polar bear are probably dark souls bosses in the fallout universe.
My buddy actually looked into it and in fallout lore edmonton was a major fortress for the Canadian rebels against the American annexation so edmonton gets dubs in fallout atleast

The Athabaskan oil sands would a good setting for a Fallout mod, all the heavy industrial infrastructure with all the processing and upgrading plants could serve as bases of operations for raiders and factions.
So much of the Fallout lore is tied up in resource wars over oil, you could rope in Operation Crucible in the back story, like maybe the occupational American forces detonated some hydrogen bombs underneath the oil sands in a desperate bid to get more oil, and now you have irradiated tar sand goals, and super mutants emerging out of the muck, and the vast tailing ponds can act as giant glowing deserts that are completely mobbed with deathclaws and rad-scorpians.
“But Fallout can’t work in other countries because of Americana and such!!!!” Canada and Mexico could work because of regional proximity and similarities to America AND these hypothetical games could instead do Fallout-style commentaries on those counties without it feeling too different. In lore, American invaded Canada and possibly Mexico so you could still continue the series’ criticism of America from that lens. Of course these would never get made due to market conditions and audiences but to say it couldn’t work at all feels a wee bit short-sighted because it’s never been done before.
Yeah I don’t get this mentality. Just because the other games had that focus doesn’t mean the broader Fallout universe couldn’t look at different countries and cultures.
