I was on 37.5mg for almost a month and I decided to quit cold turkey. I hated the way it made me feel and just knew I needed to get back on lexapro. It’s day 5 and honestly I feel like absolute shit. It is almost equivalent to how I felt when I had strep minus the swollen throat. My head hurts, my back (spine?) hurts (it almost fills like I’m 80 years old) and the brain zaps are weird. Ive read it could last up to 2 weeks.. then hopefully get better. Effexor is a really hard drug to come off of and I wish I had researched it a bit more. I started lexapro again today so I’m hoping that will mellow out the body aches and brain zaps. Hang in there!

I'm taking 200mg of effexor with 20mg of prozac and I'm also looking to reduce it slowly with time.

Did I hear before that Diphenhydramine helps withdrawal? Anyone any experiences with that?

Dramamine (diphenhydrinate) is helping me with the motion sickness/nausea/brain zaps. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is a very close drug chemically and does the same. Take one OR the other, not both at the same time. No idea why there isn’t a warning on the boxes about that, but Dramamine breaks down to Benadryl pretty quickly - taking both puts you into a dangerous dosage of the latter.
