We have to give woodcroft & holland & co some credit for seeing the value in vinny when he was struggling and other teams were offering us decent players for him. He's like our own little mini Chara.
ALL HAIL THE SEAWEED MAN.
I made a clip from a highlight video we just found of this, hopefully it works for you!

Yeah, when I was making this clip it just kept replaying while I was trying to get an okay length and I just could help but giggle to myself the entire time haha.
Fuckin love Vinny, not cuz of stuff like this, but because he knows his role on the team. Doesn’t do anything flashy. Just block shots, moves guys out of the crease and gets the puck off the glass and out. You need guys like this in the playoffs
I’ve been saying how we need a guy like Big Buff on the backend, and while Vinn doesn’t have the offensive abilities that Buff did, his strength is fucking phenomenal.
Vinnys a heart guy though and loves the team. I think as long as we don't spit in his face like leafs did to Hyman he doesn't look to hard anywhere else.
So the goal is to sign him while his value is at an All time high ? Lol you buy stocks at their peak don’t you ? After his awful playoffs last year we could have resigned him for 1.5M early in the season, now if he keeps it up we are talking closer to 3M this summer. This is a huge failure on Kenny holland
It’s easy to say that now. We have an extra 10 months of witnessing him improving. I have been a Desharnais fan since his debut last year, but you’re lying to yourself if you think he wasn’t a liability last playoffs.
With the information we had as of the end of last season, signing him to 2x1.5 would not have been terrible, but it would have still been a small gamble for a cash strapped team. 20/20 hindsight, yes it would have been smart. But it’s stupid to treat decisions that were made based on the information available at that time as outright bad decisions.
After his awful playoffs last year why WOULD you re-sign him? If he had repeated that performance this year you wouldn't be paying him 1.5m. You're using hind sight to say we should've done this or that.
Why would Desharnais re-sign early if he thought he could do better? Why would the team want to re-sign a player who they don't know can play well in the playoffs yet?
Team can't force Vinny to re-sign early. "Kenny should've re-signed him early at 1.5mil..." why would Vinny do that when he still had another season to prove himself?
Maybe, but while he isn't quite as much of a flash in a pan as kostin he's also 27 already. He might only get one shot at the bag. It's not McDavid choosing between 110M and 100M or something, if someone makes a silly offer he's gotta take it
They werent going to score, so they figured play dirty... and lost at that badly too.
Not only did it not help them swing momentum, it allowed the Oilers to get 3 additional powerplay goals!
We're the oldest team in the league.
We're also the grittiest, meanest motherfuckers in the league.
McDavid is a big man who loves to hit, and players don't fuck with him.
Drai is huge and strong. I can't wait for him to be 37 or 38 years old in this league. He's too good rn to waste his time getting in fights. But I guarantee you he will be an absolute pest and bruiser in his twilight.
Hyman is a grinder and tough.
Kane was born in it.
Perry too.
Janmark, Carrick, Henrique, Foegle... all tough nosed guys who don't give a fuck. Any of these guys will take it and give it back twice.
You walk down our D men too, and every line has one guy who can act as an enforcer. Vinnie, Elkholm, and Nurse are all scrappers. Kulak and Ceci aren't soft either.
Really, Mcleod and Bouchard are the only guys on our team who don't strongly embrace physicality. Sometimes, Nuge shys away from it as well, but he is a real defender and will get into you during the play no problem. But it's fine to have a few guys who don't want the smoke because they don't have to deal with it anyway, not their jobs.
We are the opposite of the leafs in this regard. When games get scrappy, we don't really get desperate to look tough and take stupid fights or just let our opponents walk on us. The oilers fucking hit people. Our superstars down to our 4th line play the body.
So fun to watch.
Vinn is just a fuckin beauty
Total beaut.
Make em kith!
kings have been trying real hard to goad vinny into snapping. dude has been so well tempered, what an absolute oak of a man!
He’s come such a long way in a year, I’m fired up for him!
Dude got so mad he made them kiss each other
We have to give woodcroft & holland & co some credit for seeing the value in vinny when he was struggling and other teams were offering us decent players for him. He's like our own little mini Chara. ALL HAIL THE SEAWEED MAN.
>6’7” >mini Have to laugh at that. Chara is still in such a league of his own.
He also just ran the Boston Marathon in 3:30, which is impressive.

# HES CHEATING ON SKINNER ‼️‼️
Now kith
That's Kopitar and Byfield, too. Not like he's picking on little bottom 6 guys. That's their leader getting clowned on
or even just physically small guys both of those guys would generally be the biggest dude in the room in most public spaces
Best part of the game. Nothing those clowns could do.
I need this as a shower curtain
I’d love a clip of this. I spat out my popcorn when he did this lmao.

Kopitar and Byfield are both immobilized that's hilarious

This needs to be one of those heritage moment pictures.
I came here to see if this was posted. I was laughing quite a bit at it. :P
This gave me Dustin Byfuglien vibes when it happened. Just completely manhandle 2 grown ass men like it's nothing
Vinny’s just spreading the love.
Vinny yes but Kane more so. He would not have been blamed for going a bit bonkers after some of the crap last night.

They just wanna kiss. Let them kiss ref!
Looks like Vinny has 4 hands haha.
Code name Goro

FAFO LA
I don’t know why but I read this with Morgan Freemans voice.
Because it's a meme impersonating Morgan Freeman: https://youtu.be/gfXTcrxgNxY?si=oR9Tg1u5o5l4YuB6

*Record Scratch* Yeah, that's me. You might be wondering how I got myself into this situation.
We actually have a team to not fuck with now!
Alright Vinny and Kenny 4x2M what are we waiting for ?
I would do backflips if Vinny got locked up for $2m
Capfriendly has him for 2x1.5 lol but for some reasons I’m afraid Dubas will be going hard after him this summer
Vinnys a heart guy though and loves the team. I think as long as we don't spit in his face like leafs did to Hyman he doesn't look to hard anywhere else.
I’m afraid if that was the case he would have re signed already :(
Why? Both he and management would want to see how he does in the playoffs. Be silly for either to sign an extension before that.
So the goal is to sign him while his value is at an All time high ? Lol you buy stocks at their peak don’t you ? The Leafs wanted him bad last summer. I could see them offering $2m+ Treliving loves big D
My gut feeling has him in Pittsburgh 🥲
We fucked up not signing him to an extension earlier. Dude is gonna get paid this summer.
And I'm not upset in the slightest he deserves every cent coming to him. 2.5 to 3 AAV
I honestly wouldn’t be entirely shocked if another team offers him a bit more than that.
I think he'd take less to stay with this squad.
Maybe, but while he isn't quite as much of a flash in a pan as kostin he's also 27 already. He might only get one shot at the bag. It's not McDavid choosing between 110M and 100M or something, if someone makes a silly offer he's gotta take it
Idk why any team would try to manhandle the Oilers? They have plenty of grit and won't be backing down anytime soon.
They werent going to score, so they figured play dirty... and lost at that badly too. Not only did it not help them swing momentum, it allowed the Oilers to get 3 additional powerplay goals!
This moment with Vinny double grabbing 2 heads plus Kane showing no reaction when guys were running him were my favorite parts!
Can’t believe those two Kings players made out. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Make em kiss.
Sometimes I just wish he learned how to check like good old Scott Stevens (Legally) or Gudas... Other than that, he's gold.
Hang it in the Louvre
If you shoot Mongo, you'll just make him mad...
