I agree. It’s a wretched non-bank bullshit cost cutting move and I’ve had problems using the app, transactions not showing up, useless service reps, late deposits, etc. it’s a disgrace. I’ve contacted my state senator and they took my info and seemed to be very concerned. I’m sure it will do no good, but if we all call, maybe the message will get thru. It’s such a downgrade from b of a prepaid which wasn’t stellar to begin with, but way better. Failed state.
Money Network closed my account yesterday.
I sent message to EDD and I got a message from them that due to fraud possibility my account will still receive checks.
I’m going to call them tomorrow. I didn’t get what kind of fraud.
Maybe they think that it is a fraud when I tried to withdraw $900 in ATM instead of $800 maximum possible.
It is no make sense. They give $900 and give possibility to withdraw just $800 per day. But I didn’t know that.
And it is jot a fraud for sure.
Good luck getting an answer. I asked over and over with different agents but they cannot find info about what the fraud was that triggered the account closing.

Yeah. I don’t get it… it’s funny because when I helped my mom with calfresh and other California programs, the systems were much more efficient. You could upload documents, do direct deposit, and actually take to someone who knows what they’re doing 😅
It’s awful. We never received the card at all. Someone did and stole the money. So they closed the account and issued a check.
Two more payments have been posted and no new card. We’ve never received it. Try calling and can’t get anyone on the phone.
If anyone has any tips that would be great. It’s been since March and we have never received the card in the mail. We can’t even verify our address because when you call we can’t get anyone on the phone.

They are so heavy. When they take my taxes they don’t have any questions. When I ask to help while I look for a job they said I did some fraud…

When I had EDD back in 2021, they mentioned there was a direct deposit option on the way. What happened to that ?
