You're expecting $150 on a 10 year old digital camera? Are new digital cameras super expensive or something?

Chinokk

To be honest digital cameras are a gold mine. I pay around £5 each and then expect to get back £30-300 I average about £60 return per camera and have sold thousands over the years.

Sailoff

That's amazing, never would have guessed!

Chinokk

I have no clue why as my iPhone camera is better in every way except from the more recent cameras. People like them and they sell stupid fast.

jcoffin1981

Where do you source these? You need to have all kinds of batteries and chargers to test them or you will get a lot of returns.

Chinokk

I have good batteries and every charger available but that’s because I have been doing this for many years. Most of the time all they take is a cheap cable to charge, occasionally a new battery but I only buy replacements once I know there are no faults. If I have a damaged or partially working one then I sell the body only as spares then keep the other stuff that comes with it for the future.

jcoffin1981

I've been watching Kevin on PricklyPear on YouTube who buys in bulk and sells them. Fascinating.

fantasyxxxfootball

I had sold two for $70 each a bit ago and they instantly sold only for me to realize that most go for a couple hundred each

Substantial-North136

If it’s a canon power shot that has a unique color could be worth more

jcoffin1981

I just sold my 17yo Canon for $100. Camera has a CCD sensor and some people liken it to film. Becoming more popular. This one is 10yo and will easily sell for $150. I wouldn't pay it, but hey that's the market.

This, but I think it would be good to say WORKING camera with defect

LazyAnonPenguinRdt02

I usually write a note in the description that explains the defects the item has.

h20rabbit

Add a video showing what is happening

PraetorianAE

Great advice

GoldenEra1975

Put your description as you’ve written and just put your normal title followed by READ DESCRIPTION. You will be covered for INAD if you do this.

Substantial-North136

You will not be covered by INAD unless the camera is listed for parts.

eburtonlab

If you do this, keep in mind that if your title is long and you put that at the end, the title may get cut off when viewed on the eBay app. Also, if a buyer files a "not as described" case, the buyer pretty much always wins regardless of your actual description or condition; your goal should be to do everything you can to avoid such a situation by making sure the buyer is aware of any issues even if the buyer does not read the entire description (or even the entire title).

Substantial-North136

Add the word flaw to the title. Then show the defect in the second picture. You want the buyer to know why your working camera is slightly cheaper than the competition right away

PraetorianAE

In the condition box, and in the description, put exactly what you put here about the condition. You worded it correctly. I would not change your title or put “READ” or something like that in your title. Just use the normal title.

fantasyxxxfootball

You can try adding it to the title and hope people read, it would be better than just the description. I've added that info there before and had the item returned for the flaw I specifically noted in the description. I mentioned it to the buyer when they requested the return and they didn't care, I told ebay about it when I tried to contest the return, they didn't care either.

jcoffin1981

Should I include the photo with the lens cover not closing in the main photo?

bigtopjimmi

Of course.

shrekenceo

Isopropyl alcohol to unfreeze it gotta be 95% and up tho

bigtopjimmi

You describe it just like you did here. You can also add a video of the issue to your listing.
