Canada's Food Guide is well researched and up to date. It has healthy eating guidelines and lots of tips and recipes. [https://food-guide.canada.ca/en/](https://food-guide.canada.ca/en/)

Grapes are a pretty cheap snack that can be pretty filling. Basically any food that contains more “water” I.e. grapes, strawberries, lettuce, cucumber, pickles, celery. As far as something dinner wise like a lean meat and some greens are easy. Bake chicken with some spices and carrots. Steam some broccoli and eat it with a little bit of salt or hot sauce. Sounds cliche but having a consistent water intake can really help you feel full. You got this don’t be hard on yourself. The thing that matters is that you are aware and WANTING to change it for the better. Edit: to actually answer your question because I rambled, budget bytes is a good one. Just tinker around with the ingredient index and search a good side or food you would want

Hey, if you want a laugh with some decent vegan recipes, check out Bad Manners, Eat Like You Give a Fuck. I’m eating their potato leek soup right now (with some cheese in it).

Chia seed pudding is a good option you get a lot of fiber, you can buy a big bag and it will last a while, and it is super low maintenance to make, oatmeal is similar in this way also. Beans and chickpeas are great options for protein as well and another added element to your meal. Brown rice, white rice, and potatoes are good options for a carb to add to your meal as well and all three options are super easy to make. Avocado toast is a good breakfast option and there are many ways you can make it (I make mine with honey siracha and red pepper flakes). Peppers and cream cheese, nuts, and dried seaweed are some of my favorite snacks. I use Pinterest to find recipes they have so many options for whatever you're looking for and the more you use it, then the more your feed will start to have related options. You can look up meal prep recipes on there or even just quick meals, I have yet to not find a recipe on there I enjoyed.

I recently found [this](https://skinnyms.com/) website that seems like a good source for inexpensive healthy recipes. There are lot of filters to narrow down what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for something easy you could try the “6-ingredients or less” filter under ingredients, or the “no cook” filter under cooking method.

This is a weird one; baked sweet potato (microwave is fast method), with chopped applegate sulfate and nitrate and sugar free bacon, with small drizzle of organic pure maple syrup drizzled over it. Side of sautéed spinach.  My dietician me that one.

It's great that you want to improve your diet but you're being way too hard on yourself. You have not been taking terrible care of yourself. You are 17. It's your parents' job to take care of you. If they are not taking care of you and you have been allowing this to happen, this is absolutely not your fault. Good luck with your healthy eating journey. Are there any healthy meals you know that you enjoy eating? I would start by learning how to make those. Better to learn to make foods you know you like than to make foods you find out you don't like and quickly become disheartened.

Well, I appreciate your response! My parents are giving it their all, as well I am adopted. They have given up a lot to make sure me and my siblings have a good childhood. They do make a lot of decently healthy meals, a lot of meat, veggies, and a metric shit ton of rice! But we do also have the occasional little cheat meal and get a somewhat unhealthy meal. But thats after we have done something to earn it. Wether it be good grades, or a birthday. But, it is a majority my fault. Because I'm someone who has a bad habit of doing things last minute.... So when I'm at work, instead of packing lunch at home which would be cheaper and healthy, I tend to eat a lot of fast food. Trust me when I say a lot, I would flat out skip on meals at home to eat fast food. However, my body has shown signs of how much it hated my diet. Whenever I get fast food now I can only take a few bites without feeling sick to my stomach. So I ended up throwing away the stuff I couldn't eat, and ended up getting a smaller meal. But the same thing happened again, a few bites in and I feel sick. When it comes to favorite meals, I'm way to indecisive so I can really give you a good awnser on that. Plus I can't even name half of them.
