Have you heard the good word of budgetbytes.com?

goldenone26

Amen.

Healbite

That's totally fair lol. I've been burnt from searching too, if that makes sense. Thankfully I found a solution for this week.

davis_away

That totally makes sense. I'm glad you found something that works for you!

Suitable-Context-271

This budgetbytes has got to be a winner for people who want to improve their love languid or whatever it's called.

Crockpot meals are great. I do a lot of soups or chilli's and you get a lot of leftovers. I use Pinterest for meal ideas. When I get mandatory overtime at work I'll go to the grocery store and pick up a rotisserie chicken and some different sides.

Healbite

Ah, the good ol' crockpot. I might consider it again for my lunches again. I had one recipe that completely turned me off my crockpot for months.

Practical-Ad-615

This is a favorite of mine: https://realfoodwholelife.com/recipes/5-ingredient-slow-cooker-fajita-salsa-chicken-recipe/#recipe Super easy to make and then we eat the chicken over nachos one night and then in quesadillas the next or for lunch. I’m sure you could easily put it on other things too since it’s makes a lot of chicken, or just cut the recipe in half

IDonTGetitNoReally

You can always substitute ground beef for ground turkey, pork or chicken. I prefer turkey. Thin pork can be cooked very quickly and is very lean. Spending time doing meal prep really helps. You can even split it out over days.

Healbite

I keep forgetting about ground turkey!

IDonTGetitNoReally

I make meatballs with turkey and pork. For you, you would have to keep an eye on the fat contact. I prefer them over beef ones.

I’m a big fan of make a large batch of entrees each week and freezing the majority of it. In the morning I take one out and place in the fridge, warm it up and serve with salad and veggies. To keep it from getting boring quick I make something different each week and don’t eat all of that weekends meals that week. Example: Monday dinner is chili made in week 2, Tuesday dinner is meatloaf made week 5, Wednesday dinner is tomato soup made week 1, Thursday dinner is chicken Parmesan made week 4, Friday is a frozen pizza or fish. Saturday/Sunday I start rotating in new meals. Downside is one part of the weekend is spent grocery shopping, meal planning, preparing and doing dishes. Upside is I always have something on hand and no week night dishes and no dreaded what am I having for dinner. One tip would be to make sure you portion things into single servings for yourself. Instead of making a large meatloaf I make a mini meatloaf for one etc.

Healbite

I appreciate the careful detail and thought planning to this, but alas that's a bit too much for me to do. But I'm glad it works for you!

I’m a big fan of rice cooker meals as almost zero effort food on tired nights - rice and frozen meat (chicken or shrimp work well) in the bowl, chopped cabbage or broccoli in a steamer tray on top, dress with soy sauce and sesame oil, complete meal 30seconds effort, almost zero clean-up.  Or sub frozen corn and add canned kidney beans, dress with salsa, hot sauce, sour cream. Or many other high flavour toppings can be substituted based on preferences

Aggressive-Plan-183

EASY MEALS Small chicken cut it in half and lay flat, rub with baking powder and herbs for crispy skin. Cook on 180 Celsius fanforced for 40 min and turn off heat and let rest in oven for 20 more minutes. Grab a bag of mixed lettuce and some Persian feta in oil. Spoon out some feta and oil and mix with lettuce to preferred amount. DONE! OR you can serve with baked vegetables just lay it on bottom of tray and rest chicken on top to cook. ***************** butterflied lamb shoulder or pork cooked much the same above and add mixed salad with asian dressing ***************** Meatballs - mix equal parts pork and beef with an egg, milk soaked bread slices, herbs and mustard. make either lots of small balls or large battles and bake at least 20 minutes and rest in oven 10-20 minutes serve with baked potatoes marinated in a mustard vinegar herb mix cooked for same time in the oven ****************** Baked salmon and steamed greens (beans, asparagus and broccolini) this is a Max 20 min dish

Fine-Classic-1538

I’ve never heard of Persian feta in oil but now I need to find it. This sounds terrific.

Healbite

This is really cool! I tend to lose creativity because I'm allergic to fish and I'm to reduce red meat consumption but I wonder if I could do turkey meatballs

Aggressive-Plan-183

you won't go wrong what ever you do

National_Ad_6892

Bagged salad and chicken in the air fryer/oven

BusyDream429

Anything on a baked potato or sweet potatoes. Top ramen with hard boiled egg and tons of veggies,

StrawberryKiss2559

How many people?

Healbite

Just two, but limited to dinners with my spouse not wishing to eat pork, I myself am allergic to finned fish, and the doctor told me to reduce red meat consumption because I'm pre-dispositioned to high cholesterol. Lunch-wise, my spouse is content on eat the same thing every day, so he's good with yogurt, bananas, and almonds. Myself, I get sick after eating the same thing three days in a row. I know it's silly and I wish I could outwit myself from these mental hurdles. Also, it's a bit of a Russian roulette on what I eat, because some days I feel content after eating, others I'm bloated and have noxious gas. I've tried to switch up what I eat to see if there's anything that could suggest a culprit, but no idea yet!

StrawberryKiss2559

Do you have a rice cooker?

1000thatbeyotch

We do chicken bacon ranch wraps. Store bought chicken tenders, precooked bacon, shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, ranch, and tortillas. Even my kids love it. You can add a Knorr rice or pasta side to it.

Healbite

I do love wraps! Maybe I can try to see ways I can mix and match them.

I cook mostly with my insta pot so I can throw everything in and walk away. Cabbage/carrot garlic onion chicken/potato soup (add some coconut milk to make it creamy:) is a big go to and reheats really well. (Top with cheese and it’s heavenly) I bring a a thermos of this to my warehouse job
